Charles stared at Evelyn from afar.She had been sulking for the past two days,since they came back from the wedding and he was afraid to ask her the reason.
He cleared his throat as he approached her,the worst she could do was to hit him.
“What’s wrong,Eve?You’ve been sulking for the past two days.”asked Charles as he sat beside her carefully.He slowly moved his hand closer but the glare she sent his way made him withdraw.
“Talk to me,babe”Charles said again.
“Hmph,I thought you wouldn’t notice,Mr.celebrity”said Evelyn.
“What do you mean by that?”asked Charles with narrowed eyebrows.
“He is so handsome in person than in pictures”Evelyn said nonchalantly and it dawned to Charles that she was referring to the incident at the restaurant.
“Wait,are you mad about that incident?”asked Charles and Evelyn chuckled.
“No,am not because if I was I would have sliced those people’s throats or remove their vocal cords but I am just seated here doing nothing”Evelyn said and Charles gasped.Her words were so terrifying yet she said them like it was a normal statement.
“What can I do to make my angel stop sulking?”teased Charles and Evelyn pouted looking away
“What do you think about going to a date?The last one got ruined”asked Charles.
“Suit yourself”shrugged Evelyn and Charles smiled.
“Let’s go”said Charles as he pulled Evelyn along.
They got into the car and Charles drove towards the same restaurant he never had the chance to show Evelyn.
“Is there something special about that place?”asked Evelyn and Charles sighed sadly.
“That was the last place I visited with my parents before they passed away”said Charles with a sad look on his face.
Evelyn patted his back in comfort as she sighed.She didn’t know what to say at the moment because she had never comforted anyone.
“If anything happens like the last time,don’t dare to fight alone.Inform me”said Charles and Evelyn nodded.
They got to a place where they couldn’t go further by car so they got down and walked through the dark alley.The same place Evelyn knocked down ten hefty men.
They chattered along happily as they laughed with their hands interlocked.
Evelyn suddenly heard sounds of footsteps and she looked towards her left.She could see people behind the shadows and she was sure they had no good intention.
“Charles”Evelyn called and he turned to her.
“I feel like our footsteps are louder than it used to be.More like they are more people walking with us”Evelyn said and Charles narrowed his eyes trying to understand her statement.
It dawned to him that she meant they were not alone,they were being followed.
“Quit the cowardice and show yourself”Charles said boldly and about 10men came out holding all kinds of weapons.
Evelyn narrowed her eyes as she stared at them.She recognized these people,they were members of her gang.Could her dad have sent them to kill Charles?It was still a few days to the end of the three months yet he was so impatient.
“Were you sent by my father?”asked Evelyn.
“Yes,he told us to relay his message to you.”said one of them as he cleared his throat”You couldn’t eliminate a single soul even after three months so I decided to send help to you.Let them eliminate him and also follow them back to the base quietly.That’s all he told me to say”ended the man and Evelyn chuckled loudly.
“And what makes you think I will allow that?”said Evelyn and they all shifted back in fear.
“He also ordered you not to touch any of us”stammered another one and Evelyn moved closer to him while he moved back in fear.
“Exactly but do you think I will obey his orders?”asked Evelyn.
“I guess we have to do it the hard way then”said one of them as they prepared for a fight.
“Take the ones on the left while I take the ones on the right”Evelyn whispered to Charles and he stared at her puzzledly.
“Why?”asked Charles.
“The right ones are more skilled than the left”said Evelyn and Charles chuckled.
“And am more skilled than you think”said Charles as he charged towards the ones on the right.
Evelyn didn’t waste time taking down the ones in the right as they engaged in a fierce battle.
They took them down in no time and their bodies were stained with blood as the men laid down lifeless.Evelyn killed all of them anyways.
Charles only broke their arm while Evelyn killed them ruthlessly while Charles just watched.He could see that human’s life was nothing to her.
“I guess date isn’t our thing”said Charles panting heavily and Evelyn nodded in agreement.
“Let’s go home.We should never think of going on a date again,it isn’t meant for us.Second date gone wrong”said Evelyn as she walked towards the car and Charles followed.
