Evelyn woke up early next morning and went towards her luggage as she wrapped the blanket around her body. She opened it and brought out her gun,cherrie.
“It’s been a long time,cherrie.I never thought we would be needing each other anymore but as fate would have it we are together again.Make sure you don’t miss a target and be fast in reaching your destination”Evelyn said to her gun as she kissed it lightly.
She usually spoke to her gun before she used it because she believed it had ears and was listening to her.It had never failed her since but she is somehow doubtful this time.
She dropped the gun on the table and went into the bathroom to take her bath.
Charles woke up and couldn’t find Evelyn beside him.He stood up and put on his trousers as he moved towards the door.He was about to open the door when he heard the sound of water in the bathroom.
“She must be taking her bath”he said as he went inside the bathroom to join her.
They had their bath and sat opposite each other in the room.
“Do you really need this?”Charles asked pointing at the gun.
“Yes and I even need more.My father isn’t going to come alone neither is he going to kill us alone.He is going to kill everyone.”said Evelyn and Charles sighed.
“Let me handle this,Eve.You won’t have to kill anyone.”Charles said calmly and Evelyn chuckled.
“Really?Do you think this is like a company crisis or a business problem?This is a real war,Charlie and there is no war without bloodshed.”said Evelyn.
“That’s your mentality,Eve.It is not compulsory there is bloodshed.There might be a better way to solve this”Charles yelled.”Listen to me,Eve.What if your blood ends up being shed instead?”Charles added calmly.
“Then so be it.I have killed many people,Charlie and right now am not afraid of death anymore.”said Evelyn and Charles’s eyes darkened.
“You are selfish,so selfish.You aren’t afraid of death?”Charles chuckled as tears filled his eyes.
He was caring slot about her but she cares less about herself.Evelyn knew Charles was worried about her but she needed to do this.It was her only way to protect him.
“Charlie?”Evelyn called but was interrupted by a loud sound of gunshot downstairs.
“He is here”said Evelyn as she grabbed her gun and rushed downstairs with Charles following her.
Evelyn walked slowly as she came face to face with her father with Charles beside her.
“Here comes my rebellious daughter and her sharp-mouthed lover”said Scar as he turned to Charles “I am so mad at you.Didnt you promise to make a feast for me but I can’t found one.You couldn’t even keep your promise.”said Scar and Charles chuckled.
“Come on,father-in-law.Who knew you were going to come here on am empty stomach expecting the feast?”said Charles and Scar laughed.
“Still bold as ever.You are just like your father.”said Scar and Charles’s heart skipped.
“Do you know my father?”asked Charles and Scar smiled darkly.
“Of course,he was as bold as you are but guess what I killed him just like am going to kill you now”said Scar.
Evelyn gripped tightened on her gun.Her father killed Charles’s father.She felt like killing him,he was such a monster.
Charles gripped his chest tightly as he rushed towards Scar grabbing his collar.
“You,monster,why did you kill them?Tell me”yelled Charles as tear poured down his face.Scar pushed Charles away and he fell hardly to the floor.
“I think aunt Alicia here can shed more light to it all.”said Scar as he pointed to Lady Alicia who was watching everything from a corner.Charles stood up and went towards Lady Alicia holding her hand in his.
“Tell me,lady Alicia.What exactly happened?”asked Charles and tears poured down Lady Alicia’s cheeks.
“Stop the tears and tell me what happened”yelled Charles in frustration.
“I think I might be able to tell you what this monster did”said a voice and they all turned to see Linda walking in with Michael,Brian and Loveth behind her.
“Here comes the slut.Seems like the whole family is going to be swiped off at once. It is going to be bloody today.What a good day”said Scar as he sat in the couch with his legs crossed on each other.
Linda went towards Evelyn who was just rooted at a spot.She was dazed by the whole thing and couldn’t move and inch.She held Evelyn’s hand tightly ignoring the gun in it as she rubbed it gently.
“My baby,I missed you alot.Mommy missed you”said Linda and Evelyn pulled her hand out as she walked moved towards the chair and held it for support.She was going crazy and she could collapse any minute from then.
“Will someone explain what is going on here?!”yelled Evelyn and the whole room went quiet as Linda began her explanation…..
