Xiaomi quickly rushed to Xavier when she saw him walking towards the principal’s office. “Where did you go to, Xavier? I have been looking for you, and what happened to your face?” Xiaomi asked, trying to touch his bruised lips, but Xavier slapped her hand off.
“What’s wrong Xavier? Did I do something wrong?” She asked.
“Why did you lie to me Xiaomi? I am not just your brother but your twin. I know we fight sometimes, but I thought we made a promise to each other that we’re going to be truthful to each other, regardless of the fact that we often lie to mom” Xavier said.
“Where are you driving at, Xavier?” She asked.
“You gave my raincoat to Kayla and lied about it, why?”
“How did you know I gave it to Kayla? She was supposed to give it to me, so I can return it to you”
“It doesn’t matter how I found out, Xiaomi. What I want to know is why you lied to me”
“I lied because you h@të Kayla so much, and I know you will get mad if I told you I gave it to her”
“Of course I am going to get mad Xiaomi. You already know I h@të Kayla!!!” He said, shouting at her, and Xiaomi flinched. Even if she overshadows Xavier sometimes, Xiaomi kind of gets scared of him when he is angry.
“I am sorry Xavier, I gave your raincoat to her because she’s allergic to rainfall”
“And does it look like I care?” He asked.
“Please Xavier, don’t be mean. Don’t you have a heart?” Xiaomi asked.
“Of course I do, but I don’t mind becoming heartless when it involves Kayla. She’s a proud witch Xiaomi. She was at fault and yet I get to take the blame, and because of her, I was was ganged up on by some group of boys who are obsessed over her beauty, and it’s all because of you”
“I am sorry, Xavier. I didn’t know she was proud”
“You’re in the science class, right? Don’t talk to me until school dismiss” Xavier said and entered the principal’s office, and Xiaomi took in her lower lip, wearing a sad look on her face

≤ CLASSROOM ≥
Kayla sat on her seat, making a snapchat video, smiling enchantingly at the camera, while the rest of her classmates watch her lost in admiration, and they kept on murmuring on how beautiful she looked.
She was still making a snapchat video, when a teacher entered the class with both Isa and Xavier. They were in the art class just like Kayla, except for Xiaomi because she’s a science student.
Kayla dropped her phone and frowned when she saw Xavier. As for Xavier, he had a straight look on his face because he wasn’t happy.
“Good morning student” She said.
“Good morning ma’am” The student chorus except for Kayla who was looking at Xavier with killing eyes. Isa buried her head on the floor because she was nervous and shy.
“How does it feel to be back in school as a highschool students and not a middle school students?”
“It’s feels great!” They answered and she smiled.
“That’s good to know. My name is Denise and I am your new homeroom teacher. You can come to me anytime you need help, I won’t mind being your counselor. I’m also in charge of lecturing you in English language” She said and the students clapped their hands.
“Anyways, two students will be joining you all today. Go ahead and introduce yourself” Denise said with a smile.
“My name is Xavier Dawkins. I’m fifteen years old. I love taking photographs” Xavier said without smiling, but the students, especially the girls clapped for him because they found him cute and handsome, and his dimples were so noticeable even if he wasn’t smiling. Kayla scoffed lightly after he introduced himself.
“Isa”
“Yes… Ma’am” Isa stuttered, looking at Denise.
“Introduce yourself to your class mate” She said and Isa faked a smile before facing her classmates. She was trying her best not to show them that she was nervous.
“Hello… Everyone, My name is Isadora McBroom, but you can call me Isa for short. I’m fifteen years old and I love drawing and painting” She said in a low voice.
“You’re beautiful, Isadora” One of the students said, and the rest clapped their hands.
“Thank you” Isa said and looked at Kayla, but when Kayla’s eyes met with hers, she quickly looked away.
“Isa, you can sit with the guy at the extreme, Xavier sit with Kayla”
“What!!!” Kayla and Xavier shouted at the same time, scaring everyone including Isa and Denise.
“Do you both have a problem sitting with each other?” Denise asked, and both Kayla and Xavier glared at each other, before answering her question.
“No”
“It settled then. Enjoy your time while waiting for your maths teacher”Denise said before leaving. Isa went and sat down where she was told to sit and her eyes were all on Kayla.
Kayla watch as Xavier sat down next to her, with a frown on her face. “You are following me aren’t you? Because you’re literally everywhere I go. When I turn right, you’re there, and I looked left, you’re also there. Do you have a crush on me? Because if you do, you’re just preparing heartbreaks for yourself. The bruise you got on your lips is just a starting point, if you continue getting close to me, understand” Kayla said.
Xavier looked at her and without saying a word to her, he brought out his head phone from his backpack and put it on before resting his head on the table, backing her.
“I h@të you” She said to him, but Xavier ignored her.
Isa took in her lower lip as she looked at Kayla. “It hurts that she snubbed me. Is this who she really is behind the cameras?” Isa muttered feeling hurt. All her expectations was that she and Kayla were going to be friends on the first day of school.

≤ SAME DAY ≈ CAFETERIA ≥
The students were all present at the cafeteria having their lunch. Some were in group, some were three in numbers, while some were two in numbers.
Kayla sat alone, having her lunch. She didn’t care, because she hardly talked to anyone in school.
Xiaomi’s eyes search for Kayla inside the cafeteria, and when she spotted her, she quickly approach her.
“Kayla!” She said, and Kayla looked at her.
“Oh, Xiaomi. I have finally got to see your face” She said with a smile.
“Same here because I wanted to talk to you”
“About what?” Kayla asked.
“Why did you ask some group of boys to gang up on Xavier?” Xiaomi asked.
“Because he deserved it” Kayla said, without blinking.
“Really Kayla? You had my brother beaten up and you dare said he deserved it. For what reason Kayla? Was it wrong that I helped you?”
“I didn’t take your help for granted. I appreciate that you helped me, Xiaomi. But if I had known the raincoat belonged to my enemy, I won’t have accepted it. I can’t still can’t wash off the smell of his stinking raincoat from my body” Kayla said.
“You are so lucky we are in school, I’d have beaten you up”
“Xiaomi”
“I know you’re from a wealthy home, and the face of an expensive brand, but that doesn’t give you the right to belittle the less privileges. Xavier and I might fight sometimes, but I don’t joke with him. So if you ever in your good for nothing life do that to my brother again, I am going to design your face, and you won’t become the face of an ape family brand talk more of being the ambassador of Dior. I thought you were a good person since you are always friendly in your TikTok videos, but now I know you’re nothing but fake, I won’t be surprised if your beauty is fake as well” Xiaomi said, and Kayla stood up.
“Take back what you said or else… ”
“Or else what Kayla? Look I am not like my brother who takes all your bullSh|ts. Even if his anger can’t be controlled sometimes, he still have a calm personality, but I don’t have that calm personality in me, Kayla. Throw a punch at me, and I will return the punch in three folds. So don’t mess with me Kayla, you can go to my neighborhood and ask them about me, and they will tell you who I am. If you don’t want us to have issues, you should apologize to my brother, because I won’t mind becoming your worse nightmare”
“Are you threatening me?” Kayla asked.
“If you think I am joking, then take it as a threat, but if you don’t apologize to my brother, then you are going to see the other side of me” Xiaomi said.
“I really thought we could be friends” Kayla said.
“I don’t befriend someone who thinks highly of herself. Look around Kayla, you are the only one without a friend here, and it’s because of your proudness. I know you’re beautiful, rich and an ambassador, but cut down your egos” Xiaomi said and walked away.
Kayla took in her lips, and decided to go back to class, but Isa blocked her path.
“Hi, Kayla” She said, smiling.
“Can you stop approaching me unannounced? I am not in the mood for your stupidity, so just get lost and leave me alone!” Kayla said. She bumped shoulders with Isa, and Isa fell to the ground. Not minding what she did to Isa, Kayla walked out of the cafeteria.

≤ LA NEWS COMPANY ≈ SAME DAY ≥
Jane sighed for the umpteenth times as she waited for Julianna in her office. “Isn’t she through with her news delivery?” Jane muttered and Julianna entered her office.
“Jane?” She said and Jane turned to look at her.
“What are you doing here?” Julianna asked.
“I came to talk to you, Julianna”
“If it’s about Lucas, I am not in the mood to hear about him” Julianna said.
“Lucas told me what happened, and I am sorry. He’d have gone to you if I didn’t call him”
“Then why do you keep calling him Jane? I know he is your best friend and you both have come a long way together, but what about me Jane? I’m his girlfriend, but yet it looks like I am not his girlfriend. Just one call from you, and he’s already at your doorstep. Are you both just best friends, or are you two dating behind my back?” Julianna asked, cleaning her tears.
“Lucas and I are just friends, Julianna. He loves you”
“Really? How do you expect me to believe that when he doesn’t show it to me? He loves me but yet, he keeps neglecting me. Is he doing this to me because he knows that I love him so much?”
“No he’s not Julianna, and I am sorry if I am the reason why you feel Lucas doesn’t love you. I know him so well, and he won’t have dated you if he didn’t love you. I promise from now I am going to stop calling him, just give him another chance Julianna. He wasn’t feeling too good when I called him earlier today, and I think it’s because of you, Julianna” Jane said, and Julianna started crying.
“I love Lucas so much Jane. I love him so much and it’s driving me nuts. I just want him to give me the attention I deserve” She said, crying, and Jane hugged her.
“I am so sorry Julianna. It’s all my fault. I’m sorry” Jane said, consoling Julianna.

≤ RODOLFO’S CONDO ≈ NIGHT ≥
Rodolfo entered the room and sees Joyce working on her laptop.
“Hi, Love” He said, peaking Joyce and she smiled. Rodolfo is Joyce’s husband, they have been married for two years.
“How was work today?” Joyce asked, and Rodolfo sighed sitting on the bed with her.
“It’s stressful. Working as a trailer driver isn’t a joke”
“Sorry about that, go and freshen up and I will heat up your food” Joyce said.
“Thanks Joyce. I met up with Lucas on my way home”
“Why?”
“Julianna called me last night crying, and it turns out that it was because of Lucas and when I asked Lucas, everything traced back to Jane. I don’t know why Lucas keeps choosing Jane over my best friend. Julianna is my best friend, but I always put you first before anything, but Lucas can’t do that for Julianna” Rodolfo said.
“Everyone is different, Love. And as Jane’s personal assistant, I can feel she’s going through a lot. She has no one except for Lucas, and she can’t rely on Kayla, because she’s young” Joyce said.
“Even so Love. I understand Lucas has always been there for her, but I want him to have time for Julianna too. They’re not the only best friends in the world. Julianna and I have been best friends since childhood, but we aren’t over doing it” Rodolfo said.
“Julianna and Lucas love each other and I am sure they’re going to resolve this issue. Just freshen up, and eat so you can rest okay”
Rodolfo stood up from the bed, and kissed Joyce. “If not that I am tired, I’d have loved to go in” He said with a naughty smile, and Joyce laughed, pushing him away.
“Go and have your bath, I might refill your energy after that” She said, and Rodolfo smiled, kissing her again.

≤ SAME NIGHT ≈ ADRIAN’S MANSION ≥
Isa sat on her bed, and as she writes on her diary she had tears in her eyes.
★Dear Diary…. Today was supposed to be a good day for me, but it didn’t turn out well. I met Kayla Meyers, I should be happy about that, right? But I am not, because she was so rude to me. I never expected her to behave that way towards me, I guess it’s because I am introvert and I am someone who can’t speak in large crowds But it’s not my fault, I took after my late grandfather, and I like it because I don’t want to be anything like my grandma. I really want to be Kayla’s friend, what should I do?… ★

“I will be home soon, Mom. I just wanted to take a walk around LA, because I want to clear my head off something” Kayla said to her mom.
“It’s late Kayla, wh@tëver is bothering you, we should talk it out together okay” Jane said
“Fine mom. I will be home in about an hour”
“Kayla!”
“Just give me thirty minutes mom, and I will be back home. I just want to be alone right now”
“Thirty minutes, it shouldn’t exceed that time. Am I making myself clear to you?”
“Yes you are mom.. I love you” She said and ended the call.
“She wants me to apologize to Xavier, that’s never going to happen. I rather died than apologize to that dimples boy” Kayla said, and was about crossing the road without watching. A car would have hit her if it wasn’t in low speed. The driver quickly halted the car, and out of fear, Kayla screamed and fell to the ground.
Adrian quickly rushed out of the car and quickly squat in front of her.
“Kid, are you alright? Are you by chance injured?” He asked worriedly.
Kayla looked at him, and a smile crept up on her face after she saw Adrian.
