Kayla looked at him, and before she could say a word, her heart slowly began to beat.
Dudum Dudum Dudum Dudum
“Stop!” Kayla said in a loud voice when she realized how fast her heart was beating.
“Stop what? You don’t have to overeat, I was just stating out what I notice” Xavier said.
Kayla cleared her throat and said. “I wasn’t talking to you”
Her heart was already back to normal, and she couldn’t stop wondering why her heart skipped that way just now. A lot of guys has complimented on her beauty and not once has her skipped a beat for their cheesy words.
“You weren’t talking to me? But I am the only one here. Don’t tell me you talk to ghost?” Xavier asked with a smile.
“Believe anything you want to believe Xavier, but don’t compliment my beauty again” Kayla said.
“Why? You find it uncomfortable?”
“No I don’t. You always say I am ugly and that my beauty is overated by the public right? Just stick to your words. Don’t compliments my beauty ever again” Kayla said. The last she’d want right now is for her heart to flutter because of a boy. She has promised Jane that won’t fall in love at a tender age, and there’s no she’d let her happened. Letting it happened means breaking her promise with Jane
Xavier looked at Kayla and sighed. “Isa keeps saying you’re a good person and I am trying to see that good person in you, but you keep showing me your bad side even when I am trying to be nice. You should have just said thank you after I complimented your beauty” Xavier said.
“I never asked you to be nice to me Xavier, because I haven’t accepted your friend. I think we’re better off this way, we aren’t enemies and we aren’t friends either” Kayla said and Xavier smiled lightly.
“You’re right, Kayla. We are better off not be friends or enemies. I will work on the video you did today, and summit it to our homeroom teacher. She’d be the one to upload on the school website and outside the school’s website”
“Alright” Kayla answered, curtly.
Xavier made a step to leave but stopped. “How are you going to get home? Will your driver come?” He asked.
Kayla was about answering when a car droved inside the school. Both Xavier and Kayla wondered who it was until Adrian came down from the car. Anger ignited inside of Kayla after seeing Adrian’s face.
“What did heck are you doing here?” She asked, such that one could feel the anger in her voice.
“Isa told me you’d be in school because of the task given to you, so I came here to take you home, Kayla”
“As what? As my driver? From what I can recall, you don’t look like my driver”
“That’s because I am your dad” Adrian said and Xavier furrowed her eyebrows. The only thing she knows is that Isa and Kayla are half-sisters, but he didn’t know Kayla wasn’t in a good relationship with her dad.
Kayla laughed and looked at Adrian h@tëfully. “Did you just say Dad? I thought I made it clear to you that you’re not my dad! I may have your blood running through my veins, but it still doesn’t change anything. Lucas is the only one I recognize as my father, and if I can change the hands of time, I’d change my mom’s fate of falling in love with an irresponsible man like you. You’re wasting your time Mr. Adrian, because I will never accept you as my dad, the better you accept it, the less hurt it will caused you”
Kayla’s driver entered the school compound after she has just finished lashing out at Adrian, and without further words, she entered the car and ordered her driver to leave immediately, and he did as he was ordered.
Adrian stood there like a sad statue. He was so sad, each words Kayla said to him hurts like hell.
Xavier felt sorry for him. He may not know what transpired between him and Kayla, but seeing him in a pitiful state, made Xavier felt sorry for Adrian.
“Don’t take what she said to you to heart, sir” He said and Adrian looked at him. “Who are you?” He asked. He was just noticing Xavier’s presence.
“My name is Xavier. I’m Kayla’s classmates, we were both assigned to the school’s advertisement together”
“I see. It’s nice meeting you, Xavier”
“You too Mr. Adrian. I may not know what have transpire between the both of you, but I suggest you give Kayla some time to figure out if she h@tës you like she claim she does. Kayla might be a hard nut to crack sometimes, but she has some goodness in her. I’m sure she’d come around” Xavier said.
Adrian looked at Xavier and smiled. Xavier also returned the smile too.

≤ ADRIAN’S MANSION ≥
“Where have you been?” Debra asked, when Adrian entered the house. Adrian tried to ignore her by heading upstairs, but Debra blocked his path.
“You’re not answering my question, Adrian. Where have you been?” She asked again.
“I am not in the mood to talk to you, Debra”
“You’re always not in the mood to talk to me, Adrian! Were you with Jane? What did you two talk about? What did you do with her? Answer me, Adrian!” Debra shouted about crying.
“Yes I was with Jane. We kissed, we had fun, and we made love, that’s what you wanted to hear right?” Adrian said.
“Don’t tell me you’re cheating one me Adrian? We’re a married couple, how can you do this to me!”
“I am not irresponsible, Debra. Regardless of the fact that I am still in love with Jane, I won’t cheat on you, because we have a daughter. You should be thankful to Isa, because she’s the reason why this marriage is still sailing. With the deceits you and mom have done, I don’t want to talk to any of you. So the next time you ask me about my whereabouts again, I won’t think twice of throwing you out of this house” Adrian said and pushed out of his way.
He met his mom descending down from the stairs and if eyes could kill, Rebecca would have been a goner.
“Son, can we talk?”
“I’m not your son, witch!” He said with an angry voice, and instead of going to his room he left the house.
Debra was scared of asking him where he was going, because of Adrian’s threat to kick her out of his house.
“Stop crying, Debra” Rebecca said.
Debra cleaned the tears in her eyes and look at Rebecca. “Let push through with the plan of destroying Jane, completely” She said with rage.
Rebecca smiled wickedly, before putting Stephanie on call.
“Hello, Stephanie….. ”

≤ STARLIGHT FASHION INDUSTRY ≈ NEXT DAY ≥
Jane came out from her company with Joyce, ready to leave to meet a client, when she saw Romeo waiting for her, with his back resting on the wall.
“Hi Jane Meyers!” She said waving at her smiling.
“Can’t he just give you a break?” Joyce said.
“Wait for me in the car, Joyce”
“What if he does something to you?” Joyce asked, worriedly.
“He won’t be able to do anything to me, Joyce. Just wait for me in the car”
Joyce glared at Romeo before entering the car, and Jane walked up to Romeo.
“Romeo McMahon! What a pleasant surprise to see you here” She said faking a smile. The only reason she is faking her niceness towards Romeo is because of the big and rich clients he always gives to her.
Romeo smiled at her before bringing out a shopping bag from his car. “I went shopping today, and while I was shopping I decided to get you accessories. I’d have got you a dress, but I remembered you’re the queen of fashion design, and besides you are also a lover of accessories” He said, smiling.
“You didn’t have to trouble yourself, Romeo. I have lots of accessories that I haven’t even touched”
“Then add this to your one of your numerous accessories” Romeo said, giving her the shopping bag, and Jane sighed before taking it from him.
“Thanks Romeo McMahon” Jane said, faking a smile.
“Let’s go on a dinner date, Jane. I will bring a friend of mine. She wants her ball gown to be designed by you”
“Alright Romeo, I will fixed a date and get back to you. I have to go now because I have a meeting to attend”
“Alright beautiful Jane Meyers” Romeo said and Jane smiled at him, but she stopped smiling when she entered her car.
“You can have this” She said, giving the shopping bag to Joyce.
“Why did you accept it if you were just going to give it out?” She asked.
“I had no choice. Fixed a schedule for Romeo and I. We are having a dinner date, because he’d be bringing a big client for me”
“I know Romeo McMahon is always giving you clients, but stop leading him on”
“I’m not giving him any hopes Joyce. He already know I don’t like him”
“But you’re always smiling at him, and accepting his date invite. He’d be thinking he’s slowly winning your heart, not knowing that you’re just smiling at him because of the clients he gives to you. You might end up being in his bad book if you don’t give him cold shoulders” Joyce said.
“It’s never going to happen Joyce. He’d be the stupid one to think I’d fall in love with him because he always gives me clients. Start the car Joyce, we’re almost late for our meeting” Jane said, resting her head on the headrest of her car.
Joyce sighed and starts the car.

≤ THE STARS ACADEMY ≈ SAME DAY ≥
The advertisement, Xavier and Kayla made came out a success and it was trending all of the internet. With the way Kayla spoke good about her school in her beautiful accent, parents wants their children to be a part of the stars academy.
“I knew I could count on both of you. You’d a great job. The school boards are proud of you both” Denise said smiling.
“I didn’t do much. It’s Kayla who did a great job by carrying out her speech perfectly”
“You also did a great job too, Xavier. You handled the camera perfectly and that’s why it became a success” Kayla said and Xavier smiled.
“I’m glad you both are getting along. I knew pairing you both to the advertisement will kill the hatred you both have for each other. You both did a great job, and the school is going to reward you both, handsomely for it” Denise said.
Xavier and Kayla looked at each other and smiled.

“Kayla!” Xavier called her name after they left their homeroom teacher’s office. Kayla stopped walking and turned to look at him.
“What?”
“About…. ” Xavier stopped halfway. He wanted to ask her about Adrian, but seeing that Kayla wasn’t even asking about last night, he chose not to say a word about it.
“What do you want to say, Xavier?”
“How about we eat lunch together… No, I don’t eat lunch. How about I buy you lunch?” He asked smiling.
“Why?” Kayla asked.
“We’re not friends nor enemies, but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t buy you lunch, right?” He said, smiling.
Kayla walked closer to him. “You’re acting strange, Xavier. Yesterday you complimented on my beauty and now you want to buy me lunch? Are you by chance falling in love with me?” She asked.
Xavier smiled, exposing his dimples, and he lean closer to Kayla, with his lips almost touching hers. “I think you’re the one who is falling for me, Kayla. Your face is blushing just because I said I was going to buy you lunch” He said and Kayla pushed him away.
“I am not blushing…. Why will I blush because of you? You… You aren’t my type” Kayla said in a rush, also fidgeting at the same time.
“Don’t show your face to me!” She said and quickly ran away. Xavier looked at her as she ran, and chuckled.

≤ ADRIAN’S MANSION ≈ NIGHT ≥
“She’s so beautiful” Isa muttered with a smile as she watch how Kayla confidently talked about their school without making any mistake.
“I wonder how she does it? She’s so free with cameras and doesn’t care who is looking at her” Isa muttered to herself again, smiling.
The door opened, Rebecca and Debra badge inside the room and Isa quickly dropped her phone on seeing them.
“Mom! Grandma!”She said fidgeting.
“Why weren’t you the one advertising your school? Why does it have to be Kayla?” Rebecca asked, and Isa began trembling.
“I ask a question and I am sure it deserves an answer!” Rebecca said.
“She has… She has been a student of the stars academy for long, and that’s why she was chosen. I recently started the school”
“Let’s say you make a point, but don’t let this repeat itself again” Debra said.
“I don’t understand, mom”
“What your mom is trying to say is that you shouldn’t let Kayla win over you. You’re not friends with her anymore, right?” Rebecca asked and Isa reluctantly nod her head.
“Good. So become her rival, compete with her the best way you can, such that she won’t be on top” Rebecca said.
“But Kayla is my sister, why should I compete with her?” She asked, innocently.
“She’s not your sister, Isa. Kayla and her mom are trying to take your dad from you, so you should h@të her rather than loving her. I’m about to bring Jane to her downfall.
“What are you trying to do to Kayla’s mom?” Isa asked.
“I am going to cause her lots of pains. She won’t know what comes knocking, so don’t tell Kayla what’s going to befall her mom, understand?” Debra said and Isa took in her lips.

≤ SAME NIGHT ≥
Beatrice came down from the car, and Ethan came down from the car with her.
“Thanks for bringing me home, boss Ethan” She said with a shy smile, and Ethan wrapped his hands around her waist.
“I thought I told you to stop calling me boss Ethan. Just call me Ethan or better still, you can me hubby” Ethan said kissing her nose, and Beatrice slightly pushed him away. She was extremely shy.
“You need to give me time to adjust to calling you by your name”
“I hope you start calling me that soon. I love you so much Beatrice” He said and Beatrice smiled shyly.
“I love you too. You should go home” She said, feeling shy.
“Can I get a good night kiss?” He asked, bitting his lower lips.
“Just go home” She said, pushing him slightly, turning her head away from his lips.
“Just a goodnight kiss, love” He said trying to kiss Beatrice, but Beatrice keeps resisting, shyly.
“What are you trying to our mom!!” Both Xiaomi and Xavier said at the same time. They didn’t even give Ethan a chance to explain himself, before descending on him.
Both kicked him so hard at the same and they were almost using sticks to hit Ethan when Beatrice quickly said.
“Don’t kill him, he’s my boyfriend!”
“Boy… Boy… what?” Xavier and Xiaomi asked at the same time, with the sticks falling off from their hands.
