My mind has been running ever since we arrived Cebu , especially when Jacob informed me about our pretend relationship.
How do I pretend to love a woman that messed up my life .
Jacob’s younger sister Berna decided to see me off to our so called room and when she left ,she was the first to go in ,I walked and she closed the door .
She was acting very Akwared the entire time ,like right now she just stopped walking .
I walked passed her and sat on the bed .
I started going through my stuffs ,I looked up and when I noticed her standing ,I frowned.
” Go freshen up ” I said without glancing at her direction.
” You go first ” she said immediately and I rubbed my face , what gives her the impression that she can even tell me what to do .
But you told her what to do first ! My mind mocked .
” Look we don’t have time to start this cat and mouse fight Cora ” I snapped angrily and She looked away as she pulled her stuff to the wardrobe.
That’s what I h@të about her , she’s the type of woman that doesn’t get intimidated by anything.
My eyes moved from my phone to where she stood as I wondered why she was muttering things to herself.
Has she suddenly run mad or what ? Do I need to call for someone’s attention ? I asked myself softly .
” Füçk ! She cursed out loud while raising something in Inspection .
My eyes followed her hand and widened ,Is that what I think it is ?
Her cheeks heated in Embarrassment when sje turned just to notice I had my eyes on her ,I trailed my attention from to the nightie then back at her face .
Wait
Is that what she’s planned to wear tonight or what ?
” I ….huh …. good night …I mean sorry it’s not what you think …” She trailed and shut up I guess she realized she was Making a fool out of herself.
I picked my stuffs and decided to freshen up , the bathroom was looking Clean and neat .
As the warm water heat my skin ,I sighed softly .
My mind went to Ivy and our argument before I left home , and the fact that I’m gonna be spending the same room with my Ex lover for a month .
How do I do this ?
I’ve not touched a woman for so long ,I’ve never had the urge again especially because I haven’t thought of cheating on Ivy before .
The worse is although Ivy is a beautiful woman , I’m not attracted to her .
I feel like we are forcing it . She’s tried tobe intimate after Ruby , but it just doesn’t feel right .
But I believe things will change with time ,I thought .
After my time in the bathroom I walked out of the bathroom, only for my eyes to meet with her backside .
I looked away immediately and Stared at my Towel which I forgot at the Wardrobe .
I normally went to the bathroom with two towels ,I think my mind was so occupied that I left with only one.
She looked really disturbed . Was it because of the sleeping arrangements ? Do I disgust her so much that she can’t spend a night in my presence .
I ignored the painful feeling in my chest as I strolled towards where I wanted to take the towel.
I stopped immediately I got to where she stood and she Shut her eyes tightly as the water on my hair dropped on her preety face
My eyes trailed from her long lashes down to her beautiful lips .
They looked so enticing , pulling me to get a taste.
Dylan focus ,you can’t keep letting her get to you like this . My mind warned .
” Get away Cora ,I need to pick another Towel ” I said and her eyes snapped opened immediately as she shifted in Embarrassment .
I picked the towel and strolled towards the bathroom again .
When I walked out of the toilet this time around clad in my night wears of A loose shirt and sweat pants .
I looked around the room and there she was ,in a White colored robe and her hair tied in a messy bun .
The fake Ring in her finger ,made my heart flutter and I bit my lower lip .
Her eyes followed my eyes and she sent her hands to her back .
I walked over to the bed to pick my phone .
As I made my way to out if the room .
” Huh ….Dylan ” she called softly .
If we weren’t the only ones in the room ,I would think I misheard things.
When I turned ,she stared at her feets as she played with her fingers in Embarrassment.
Don’t tell me the firecracker is suddenly so shy .
” I ….huh…the thing is ” she trailed .
” Are you gonna tell me what you want or ….” I trailed.
” Can you lend me a sweatshirt for the night please …I just I can’t wear any of mine tonight ” she said and I raised an eyebrow.
” I don’t understand ,why should I lend you my shirt ? That’s inappropriate . I know we are pretending to be a couple but I can’t have you wear my my clothes ” I said and she rubbed her eyes.
” Fine ” she said and I suddenly felt her voice break at the edge.
” It’s okay” she said and I walked passed her immediately and shut the door .

How could he be so mean to me ? I felt it . The coldness in his voice as he snapped at me .
Did I really damage him to this point ?
I didn’t want anything , just a shirt .
I went into the bathroom and after I was done , I wore one of the simple dresses Jacob had bought .
” Nuella darling we have been waiting for you to join us sweetheart ” Jacobs mom said excitedly.
” Is that Mr Elroy’s wife ? She’s so beautiful , I’m lora Jacob’s fiance” The beautiful lady said and hugged me in excitement.
” Hi ” I said suddenly not liking the attention I was getting from everyone.
” You’re scaring the innocent girl Lora ” Elise said and Lora blushed in embarrassment.
” No it’s okay”.I said and she Squiled.
” See Nuella doesn’t mind ,you guys look so cute together” She said and excitedly.
Suprisingly the family did the grace after which everyone decided to dig in.
Everything was surprisingly very Delicious.
I was worried about Dylan wondering if he could eat any of the Dishes .
But he seemed to be doing so well and after what he did to me in our supposed room , I decided to stay in my lane .
I felt so bad and kept picking on my Food the entire time.
We retired to our room after dinner and he walked to the bed then sat down.
” Dylan we need to talk about the sleeping position ” I said as I folded my hands .
” There’s nothing to talk about” he said and I frowned .
” Escuse me ” I said and he stared at me in annoyance.
” Cora …don’t start with me ,this is a new place the least we can do is try and understand each other” he said and I chuckled bitterly.
” Really now ? You should say that to yourself because all you’ve done so far is contradicting what you just said . You’ve been nothing but an arrogant peaÇOçk .” I snapped in hurt as my eyes stung in tears .
” So it hurts huh ? I didn’t know it hurt ” he said sacarstically.
” Oh so this is what this about ? You’re doing this on purpose to hurt me ….’ I said as my voice shook at the edge .
” I’m not trying to hurt you Cora … it’ll kill you if I want to hurt you ,so just stop insinuating that” I said frowning.
” But that’s what you are doing !
” That’s what you did first ! Stop making this about me hurting you , because you started it first …you broke me first !
” So stop Crying over the man you created ! Live with it ” he snapped and I bit my lower lip as tears rolled outta my eyes .
My breathing came out in cuts as I cried.
” I only asked about our sleeping position.
” We will sleep on the same bed because ,it’s not a new thing …you take your side and I take mine “He said and I walked into the bathroom to change .
As I bolted the door of the bathroom ,I leaned on it as I cried badly .
His words hurt badly ,
Your words did worse Cora ” my subconsciousness reminded me .
★ Flashback ★
” Cora please …..don’t do this …don’t do this if you’re only gonna break me in the end ” Dylan cried as he held her hand.
” Dyl we promised not to get our feelings involved.
” She said coldly .
” I’m inlove with you Cora …love isn’t something I can control …and I know you feel the same…” He trailed as tears rolled outta his eyes.
” It doesn’t matter ” She said as her voice broke at the edge.
” Why are you with me then ? Why are you doing this to me ? Do you want to kill me ! ” He asked and she cried out loud.
” I don’t want to get married ,I don’t want a relationship …
” She said and he laughed brokingly.
” So you want my body only …? Cora that’s what you want ? He asked.
” Dylan please stop it ….” She said and tried to leave the room and he held her hand.
” I know what I feel is right , …my heart tells me there’s something wrong ….I know you’re hiding something !
” Dylan I’m not hiding anything ,it was fun….while it lasted …” she said trying to get off his grip as he hugged her tightly.

His tears rolled into her neck and she cried with him bitterly.
” I don’t love you Dylan …”

” I’m sorry Dylan …. I swear I’m so sorry ” I cried as I hugged my legs close .
I returned to the room after sometime and sat down on the floor as my eyes hurt .
My head hurt badly as I lay down on the cold floor .
” I’m so sorry ” I muttered softly as tears rolled outta my eyes .

I couldn’t hear her painful cries in the bathroom and with each sob and sniff , my heart squeezed in pain .
She was crying ,I made her cry so bad .
I pretended to be asleep while Wondering what was wrong with Cora .
If she never cared about my Emotions,why was she suddenly so affected by my words .
Why now ?
Is there something she’s not telling me ? Who was Cora before we met . Who is she now ?
The more I thought of it ,the more I met more questions .
She was asleep now ,I knew she was because I could not longer hear her voice .
I got down from the bed and walked over to where she lay on the floor .
I bent to her level as I removed the strand of hair on her face .
Her Eyes were swollen and she hiccupped even in her sleep and I frowned immediately.
” Füçk ” I cursed under my breath realizing how much damage my temper has cursed tonight .
How were we gonna handle the next 30 days ? I carried her in my arms and she snuggled weakly.
I knew she was not just emotionally tired but physically as well .
As her back touched the soft bed ,she Cried in her sleep.
” …….
”
” Shhhhhhhh….it’s okay …” I whispered softly as she curled up .
” I’m sorry ….” She muttered in her sleep and I bent to her level.
” Sleep Gioia Mia [ my joy ]I said and froze immediately as she slept.
