” Cut , wow that was good ” Mr John said and brought down his iPhone 14 which he use in making the video .
“Finally I can’t breath in this gown ” Mara said and quickly rush into the change room and shortly she return .
” Am gonna post this on my shop Instagram page “Mr John said , Mara works as a local model is that’s what you will like to call it . She help in advertising and also in photo shoots , most hotels , restaurant and many shops has her pictures in their billboard.
” Here’s your pay I will contact you if I need another ads ” Mr John said and gave her few dollars notes ,she counted it and nod in satisfaction.
” Okay I will be on my way now ” she said and walk out of the building .
Mara walked into her room only to find her mother searching her stuff like she’s looking for something , Mara frown almost immediately.
” What are you doing here mom ” she said and Mrs Olivia turn to her .
” where did you keep it ” Mrs Olivia ask while scratching her body.
” Where’s what ” Mara ask and Mrs Olivia growl .
” Where is the money , where is your saving box where did you keep it ” Mrs Olivia scream and push down Mara underwear basket .
” Mom I don’t have any money give you , what do you intend to use money for when all you do is buy drugs ” Mara scream back .
” Am you Fuçking mother and you will do as I say , give me money to buy my stuff ” Mrs Olivia sneer and this time she kick the reading table beside her and all of Mara books pour on the floor .
“Mom stop , stop this madness already ” she scream out and tears roll down her cheek , Mrs Olivia rough her hair and with out thinking she grab Mara .
“Let go of me ,let go of me ” she scream while Mrs Olivia search her cloths hoping to find any cash and when she found non she push Mara forcefully and she fell on the floor .
” You’re so useless like that run away father of yours ahh , you can’t even make yourself useful you’re nothing but a burden to me ” Mrs Olivia scream at Mara who is sobbing on the floor .
” You’re the useless one here mom , am trying my d@mn best here . What about you huh you’re nothing but a drug addict a freaking gambler and ..” a hard slap land on Mara cheek and she wince and quickly hold her hot red cheek .
“Don’t you dare , I should be the one saying all that . You are the worst thing that ever happened to me, if I knew my life will be like this then I would have killed while you were in my womb or probably sold you out to any orphanage home ” Mrs Olivia holler and point accusing fingers at Mara who is crying her eyes out.
” I think that will be enough ” Maya calm voice was heard and Mrs Olivia furiously turn to Maya who stood at the door post with arms folded .
” Hey Amaya can you give me cash to buy my usual” Mrs Olivia shamelessly ask and Maya brought out $100 note and Mrs Olivia snatch it from her with out hesitating.
” Hahaha that’s why I love you unlike this useless goat over here who doesn’t know how to make good cash .”Mrs Olivia said and walk out , Maya walk close to Mara who is still crying on the floor and she also knelt beside her .
” What did I ever do to get this bad luck as a mother ” Mara lament .
” Mara it’s okay you don’t have to insult your mother ”
” That woman is not my mother , do you know what if feels like to be call daughter of a drug addict . You know I passed through hell back then in high school the stigmatization I got because of her “Mara said and more tears pour down her cheek.
” Amaya am trying my best , I work hard to provide for me and her but she doesn’t appreciate my efforts. She stole my saving box countless of times and because of that I had to open a bank account . She also sold most of my clothes even the ones you made for me and even my shoe and other materials. What have I ever done to deserve such ” Mara mumble , Maya pull her into a tight hug and Mara cry on her shoulders .
” It’s okay Mara you don’t have to be cry baby ” she said
” Am not a cry baby Maya “Mara grumble but Maya chuckle .
” No one is perfect because the world itself is not perfect , if the universe throw a stone at you .pick it up and throw it back ” Maya said and Mara laugh broke away from the hug.
” Wow you’re good in motivation speech “Mara said and wipe her tears , Maya shrug .
“C’mon let’s go grab some popcorn ” Maya said and pull Mara up
” Now you’re talking ” Mara said and they both laugh and walk out of the room .
** 2 days later
Mara and Maya were inside an ice cream shop, chattering voice of customers fill the air .
” Mmm this test d@mn good “Mara Mõ@n as she suck her spoon with eyes close while Maya just sigh and look down at her own bowl of ice cream .
” Why aren’t eating it ” Mara ask
” Am calculating how much we are about to waste in the name of ice cream ” Maya said frowning .
” Madam calculator , am the one paying for it so don’t worry it’s my money ” Mara said .
” That’s the point Mara ,you spend alot . Don’t you know the difference between Wants and Need ” Maya ask and Mara groan .
” Here we go again , don’t lecture me on how to enjoy my money and..”
” Good afternoon ladies” a deep baritone voice interrupt and they both look up , a man dress in a grey suit stood in front of them.
“mm who are you ” Maya ask
” Can I have a seat ” he said
” We don’t know who you are so…”
“Please seat” Maya cut Mara shut and the man sat while Mara gave Maya an are you sure kind of look .
“My name is Jeffery Wilson and from El Rosa house of fashion ” Mr Jeffery said .
” What !” Maya and Mara shriek while he smile .
” Is this some kinda prank huh “Mara scream while pointing accusing fingers at him .
” No my dear , this is my ID card ” he said and showed them his ID .
” Okay I don’t understand why an agent from El Rosa house is here ” Maya said calmly .
” Mrs Cristal El Rosa picked interest in your work and she will like you to be part of her institute” he said and Maya arch her brows .
” My work ,I don’t understand why will Mrs El Rosa pick interest in my work . And how did she even ..” Maya was still saying when Mr Jeffery place a black book on the table . Maya gasp .
It’s her fashion sketch book .
“How did you get this ” Maya ask
” You gave it to Mrs El Rosa and she ask me to return it back to you , she’s really intrigue by your sketch ”
” Wait wait wait , are we talking about Mrs El Rosa founder of El Rosa house of fashion , CEO of Rosa fashion world and also the 10 times world wide fashion face “Mara ask and Mr Jeffery chuckle and nod .
“What the hell ,how the hell did she get Maya book . What i thought you gave the book to that stranger with met at the alleyway” Mara scream .
” Y-yes I gave it to her but how did..”
” That lady is Mrs El Rosa , she came down here for a business meeting .” Mr Jeffery said.
” Wow so you’re saying Mrs C is actually Mrs Cristal El Rosa ” Mara ask .
” Mrs C , C is for Cristal ” Maya said to herself , she couldn’t believe she met her role model .
” Mrs Mara Peterson ,Mrs Cristal want you tank you for helping her retrieve her bag . She ask me to give this to you ” Mr Jeffery said and place a file on the table then push it to Mara while just stared blankly at him before picking it up .
” Mrs Maya Zahgora this is for you ” he said and gave Maya another file .
“What’s this for ” Maya ask
” Mrs Cristal has seen your potential and will like you to be part of her institute , El Rosa house of fashion is giving you a free entrance to work as designer and to help build your skill ” .
” I can’t afford the form , this cost over $30,000″ Maya said calmly and Mr Jeffery grin .
“You don’t have to worry Mrs Cristal is giving it free to you ,such talent shouldn’t go to waste .”he said
” What about me , am not fashion designer like Maya so…”
” El Rosa fashion house doesn’t just train designers alone we also train models , El Rosa owns a modeling unit” Mr Jeffery said .
” Read the instructions and sign the docvments , then bring it to our HQ at Central City . You have maximum of 4 days to submit this to us else we will take it that you do not accept our proposal , here’s my card .
Call me ones you get to Central city and I will come pick you guys .
Good day to you 2 I will be on my way now ” he said and bow before walking out . Mara and Maya were dumbstruck at the moment , they just stared at the files in their hand with out knowing what next to say .
“Is this a dream , is this how miracle works . No no this most be a dream , am I really holding a free form to achieve my dream .” Maya said to herself and tears roll down her cheek as she stared at the file in her hand .
” Am holding an invitation to my dream , my goal . There’s no way am gonna let this slide “Mara smirk .
