{Saxophone Failure}
♣NEXT DAY ∞ UBA♣
Janet was in school the next day with Cleo, her
third day of being in school.
Surprisingly, Melody isn’t in school. It’ll be the
first time in a billion years she’s absent, and
Violet is also absent.
Something was happening at the school
entrance. The students all went there, and their
eyes couldn’t believe what they saw.
It was the hottest student living on the planet,
and he was new.
” Füçk, who’s that guy?”
” He’s so hot that he’s making me wet.”
” His skin’s so bright it’s making my eyes go
blind.”
” I can’t believe I didn’t meet him like a billion
years ago.”
” Our school’s so lucky to have him.”
The girls kept dropping all sorts of dirty
compliments at him while he walked into the
school. He looked and smelt with riches, and
also had this cold expressionless look on his
face.
He kept on walking into the school, searching
for something with his eyes. Flash and Mario
also saw him, but Mario was more charmed by
his looks.
” Füçk who’s this guy?” He muttered.
” I dunno, and I don’t care. I’ve got classes.”
Flash replied and made to leave, but Mario
pulled him back.
” You’re not going anywhere until we talk to him.
He has to be in our group.” Mario insisted.
” Probably after Rocky sees him too, because he
can’t be in this same Platinum Boys without his
permission. He’s the leader, remember?” Flash
reminded.
As they kept on arguing, Brayden approached
them slowly. Mario became quiet and squealed
excitedly while Flash looked back coldly at him.
” What’s up bro? How’re you doing?” Mario
spoke jovially and made to shake him, but
Brayden stared at him blankly and that made
him retreat his hand in awkwardness.
” Well, if you don’t mind, will you join our
Platinum Boys…” Mario hadn’t finished talking
when Brayden walked away, leaving Mario’s jaw
dropped.
For the first time in forever, Flash laughed. It
was so funny that he held his ribs and laughed
loudly, something he hasn’t done in years.
” Great job Mario. I bet he’s gonna come back
and even sign a membership docvment.” Flash
spoke and continued laughing, later walking off.
Mario turned back, looking at Brayden’s
retreating back without a smile on his face.
” Why does he act so strangely?” He muttered to
himself.
As Brayden walked through the hallway, he saw
Janet and Cleo coming out of the music room
together from afar. He stopped walking
immediately and smiled to himself.
Janet and Cleo began walking towards his
direction without noticing him. As soon as they
got closer, they eventually noticed him and
stopped walking.
Brayden approached Janet, still looking more
handsome with the perfect smile on his face. He
looked more beautiful and awesome with that
ordinary smile on his face.
” Hello.” He told Janet simply and waved at her,
but Janet wasn’t responding. She was staring
intently at him.
Something was happening to her system as she
kept on staring hard. It was getting kinda glitchy
and hotter by the second, and her her circuits
were overrunning.
Her eyes suddenly switched from blue to red. He
clearly saw it, and his eyebrows raised.
Cleo also looked at Janet and witnessed her
eyes changed to red. Her eyes also widened.
” Janet!” She exclaimed and quickly covered her
eyes, taking her immediately away from
Brayden.
Brayden made to follow them, but they
disappeared quickly than he could comprehend
and he couldn’t find them anymore.
” What kind of a girl is that? Switching eye
colors?” Brayden muttered to himself. Strangely,
he didn’t look so surprised or shocked by it.
Cleo took Janet to a restroom and closed the
door behind them. She faced Janet and stared
widely at her glowing red eyes.
” Janet? Janet, are you still there?” Cleo talked
shakily, thinking that Janet’s dangerous
instincts had kicked in. She was really afraid
and her heart was beating fast.
” I don’t feel so great, Cleopatra.” Janet replied.
” Are you sure? Your eyes are glowing red, are
you sure you aren’t feeling… Like attacking
someone?” Cleo stuttered cautiously.
” I don’t feel like attacking someone. But I can’t
explain how I feel.” Janet replied.
” Then what do you feel? Why are your eyes red
when you’re not angry?” Cleo muttered.
” I don’t know, Cleopatra. My statement is
glitching and getting higher in temperature.”
Janet replied.
Cleo touched her skin to confirm. She removed
it immediately because her skin was hit indeed.
The heat was filling the room amd already
making her sweat.
” Try to turn off your red eyes then. Try
switching back to your normal eyes.” Cleo told
her.
Janet tried immediately. After a while, her eyes
stopped glowing and turned back to blue. Cleo
breathed in relief.
” I swear, that can never happen again.
Remember that your eyes turned red right in
front of Brayden, what are we going to do?”
” I don’t have any knowledge about that. My
artificial reasoning have limits, and I can’t
reason that far.” She said, and he sighed again.
They both came out of the restroom together.
Shockingly, they met Brayden standing in front
of it. Cleo almost had a heart seizure and
gasped in deeply, stepping back from him.
” The Füçk!” She exclaimed while holding her
chest.
Brayden ignored her and faced Janet. Her eyes
were glowing red again.
” Hello red eyes.” He called her and smiled, but
Cleo looked at Janet then back at Brayden. She
was no more worried, she was more pissed off.
” In the first place, what were you doing in front
of the female restroom? Never heard of privacy,
you pervert!” Cleo accused hotly and came
closer to him, but his smile turned into a smirk.
He wasn’t at all intimidated by her.
” I have no reason to be here, but there’s also
freedom of movement.” He told her, and she
scoffed hotly, folding her fist.
She was more concerned about Janet than
about punching his handsome face off. She left
him and quickly grabbed Janet, taking her away
from him.
” I’ve got my target.” Brayden told himself and
smirked, then he walked away.
” Janet, what happened again! For the second
time! Is your system having a bug or
something?”
” I don’t know Cleopatra. But if I’m possibly right,
my eyes turned red immediately I saw that guy.”
Janet told.
” Wait… It’s true.” Cleo muttered in realisation.
” But… You also said that you felt warm. Since
he’s also kinda handsome, could it be that…”
Cleo said and paused for a moment.
” That… You have a crush on him?” She finally
stated.
Janet’s eyes glowed even brighter and turned
more red when she said ‘crush’. Cleo gasped in
disbelief.
” I can’t believe it, Janet. You’re… You’re finally
getting emotions. You have a crush on
someone!” Cleo muttered, closing her mouth
from so much shock.
Janet didn’t say anything. The news was also
too sudden for her processing system to digest.
” I think you’re right, Cleopatra.” She also agreed
when she saw the truth.
” So, that means that there are two reasons for
your eyes ro turn red. If you sense danger, red
eyes. If you also see Brayden again, red eyes.
Right?” She said.
” I believe that you’re 90 percent on point,
Cleopatra.” Janet finally responded, and Cleo
squealed.
” Oh, I’m so happy for you! You have your first
crush!” She muttered excitedly.
She suddenly remembered something and her
excitement died down.
” But… How would he react if he knows about
your android status? He saw your eyes switch
two times, remember?” She reminded.
” I do not know how he’d react to that
information.” Janet replied.
Her eyes turned from red to her normal blue
eyes again.
” Don’t worry. If he tried to behave like a jerk and
reveal your secret, I’ll kick him in the balls so
hard that he’ll feel the pain for the next century
to come you don’t worry. I always have your
back, so you can rely on me.” Cleo said.
” I’ll agree to your statement, Cleopatra.” Janet
said, and the two friends hugged warmly.
♣THIRTY MINUTES LATER♣
Rocky was still angry and jealous of Janet. She
was still getting attention, and he still couldn’t
handle it. He was so jealous that if they told him
to swim in lava just to get rid of her, he’d do it
without thinking twice.
He decided to play a prank on her. Since she
was in the music department, he snuck into the
music room. There was nobody in when he
came.
He noticed that there were really large
instruments resting in the wall, even as tall as
him. He heard approaching footsteps and
panicked, quickly going to hide behind the large
instruments.
The music students came in, including Janet
and Cleo. The teacher was with them too.
He started to galre dangerously at Janet. He
could see her face because they were all facing
his direction.
” Okay. For today’s class, we’ll be playing some
saxophone music together. But because Janet
is so talented, she’ll be leading us today.” The
teacher said proudly, and they all applauded for
her.
” The only thing thing you’ll be playing is your
death music.” He said wickedly.
” Go pick up the sax Janet.” The teacher said
smiling at her.
Janet immediately began going towards where
Rocky was hiding because that was where the
sax was.
Rocky immediately pulled out his necklace. He
dropped it into the sax with an evil intention and
she picked it up without noticing anything. She
went back to the students.
She stood in front of them all, wrapping her lips
around the mouthpiece. Rocky snickered evilly
as he waited for her to blow it.
” This is gonna be rich.” He said to himself
proudly.
Janet placed her fingers over the holes and
blew the sax. At first, it produced no sound.
Everyone including herself was confused.
” Try it again.” The teacher encouraged her.
She blew it again but without so much energy, a
second and third time. The necklace was
causing the sax not to produce any sound.
Janet tried again for the last time, but with more
energy than before. The sax finally made sound,
but it was extremely high-pitched and sonorous.
Everyone covered their ears instantly, irritated by
the unpleasant noise. Rocky was bursting very
hard with laughter in his sopt, trying his best to
keep quiet.
The high-pitched noise made her system crash,
and her circuits got shortened. Her system shut
down completely.
Janet suddenly dropped the sax and her eyes
closed. She started to fall to the ground, and
their eyes widened.
Rocky instantly stopped laughing and his eyes
also widened as Janet slowly fell.
” Janet!” Cleo shouted and quickly ran to catch
her before she’d hit the ground.
Cleo palced her arms under Janet, and ahe fell
into her amrs. She started to hit Janet’s face
repeatedly in panic, trying to get her to wake up.
” Janet! Janet!!” She called, but no response.
” Take her to the school clinic, immediately.”
The teacher ordered, and Cleo immediately
mounted Janet’s heavy body on her shoulder,
taking her out of the room while the rest
followed.
Rocky came out of his hiding spot, still
surprised by what happened.
” I know that my necklace was going to make
the sax do some funny noises, but I never
expected for her to faint. Does she have a kind
of sickness or something?” He muttered to
himself.
He left the music room too, forgetting his
necklace inside the saxophone.
Janet was brought to the school clinic. She was
immediately placed on a white bed.
” What made her unconscious? Was she I’ll
before?” The school nurse asked Cleo.
” I don’t know. She has never done this before,
so I don’t know what’s going on.” Cleo replied
worriedly.
The school nurse was about to start work on
Janet when Janet’s system came back to life,
and she suddenly woke up.
” Aaaaaarrrrgghh!” The nurse exclaimed and
stepped back from her as Janet sat up on the
bed expressionlessly.
” Janet! You’re okay!” Cleo exclaimed and held
her arms.
Janet ignored her and went back to the music
room. Cleo also followed her.
Janet went to pick up the saxophone and
scanned it with her eyes. She detected
something inside and put her hand inside.
” Janet, what are you doing?” Cleo asked her,
but Janet kept on doing her business.
★This girl gets even stranger by the day. She
just fainted and wok up, and now she’s
searching through the he sax?★ She thought.
Janet finally pulled out the necklace and
dropped the sax. Cleo’s eyes widened at it.
” What was that doing in the saxophone?” She
muttered.
” This necklace was blocking the airhole of the
sax, preventing any sound from coming out.
When I blew the sax harder, it caused the sax to
produce a high-pitched noise which messed up
with my system and caused me to shut down.”
Janet explained in a nutshell.
” Whoa.” Cleo muttered shockingly, still trying to
digest her words.
” But… How did it even get in there? Who could it
belong too?” Cleo asked.
” I don’t know. But until I find its owner, I’m
keeping it.” Janet said and kept the necklace in
her pocket, then they both left the music room.
