( Shadow That Dwell In Darkness)

CHAPTER FOURTEEN : NO REFLECTION
Two weeks passed before Alucard find himself standing at the foot of the sofa, watching her sleep, her hair has fall off her pin and across the arm of the sofa like a river of dark silk.
I can not keep her here any longer, could not put her life at risk, it was enough that I stole the very essence of her life, I can not take her life and soul from her.
And yet I find it hard to let her go, I have walked often in her dreams, loosen my self in her sweetness, in her purity.
She sigh in her sleep, her sweet pink lips curving into a smile that was both sweet and seductive, of what or of whom was she dreaming about.
Unable to resist I knelt beside her, staring at the slow steady beat of her pulse at the base of her throat, I close my eyes and take a deep breath, inhaling her scent, she smelled of soap and perfume.
I place my fingertips over the pulse in her throat, felt the blood thrumming through her veins, felt my mouth water as I remember the warm, sweet taste.
Even before I open my eyes I already knew she was awake and watching me, I heard the change in her breathing, the escalation of her heartbeat.
” my lord ” she murmured ” am sorry if I did something to offend you ”
” offend?”
” in the library, you spoke in parables ” she look at me with full attention ” I conclude I have offended you ”
” you did nothing sweet snow ”
” then why ” she sit up ” you ask me to flee and then two weeks I haven’t seen you”
” I do not wish to hurt you snow ”
” you weren’t hurting me ” heat climb into her cheeks ” quite the the opposite my lord ”
” Ah snow ” I mumble stroking her cheeks ” if only you knew ”
” knew what ”
” nothing, I will not frightened you with my past or bore you with my present ”
” I do not understand ”
” they is no need for you to understand, all you need to know is that you please me very well ”
” then won’t you kiss me again ” she saw the refusal in my eyes but still press her fingertips on my lips ” just one kiss my lord ”
Taking her hands from my lip I kiss her Palm. When I look at her again they was a glint of amusement in my blue eyes ” would it please you so much ”
” oh yes ”
” one kiss and then you go to bed.”
Snow nodded, her eyelids fluttering down as his lip meet hers, they was such sweetness in his kiss, such longing, unwilling for him to leave me, I wrap my hands around his neck and deepen the kiss, hoping he would know how much I want him.
His hands tighten around me as he lift me off the sofa, cradling me in his lap, his mouth ravishing mine in the most delightful way, I was drowning in pleasure, melting into desire and then into my mind came a vision of darkness and yet it wasn’t darkness but a total absence of light and interwoven with darkness was an awareness of pain and anguish so vivid that it felt like my pain, my anguish.
I squirmed in his embrace, felt his arm tighten around me, i tried to open my eyes but the darkness increase and I felt myself being engulf in that horrible darkness.
” snow?”
” no, no, no, please ”
” snow, open your eyes, they is nothing to fear ”
I blink at him, feeling as if I just emerged from a waking nightmare ” what happened ”
” Nothing ”
” but….”
” it was only a dream my sweet snow, nothing more ”
” but I was awake!”
” No, you fell asleep in my arms” he look down at me, his smile strained, his eyes dark and compelling ” to bed with you I think ” he said, stood up and carry her with him as if she weigh nothing.
” I can walk my lord ”
” no need ”
” my lord ” I mumble the moment he drop me on the bed ” won’t you tell me what disturb you at night ” he smile at my word then shake his head.
” it does not concern you sweet snow ” I watch him stand straight ” sleep now ” before he could turn around and leave I hold his hand stopping him and in the process I stand to my feet then hug him from behind.
” please ”
” I will say it one more time ” he clench his hands ” I will not frightened you with my past ”
” I love you my lord ” the words left my lips ” I want to know everything about you, I want to be close to you” he turn around and face me ” stop pushing me away ”
He smile, he look as if he is in pain ” my sweet snow ” his hands cares my cheek ” of only you know what I do to you each night, what I am and what I plan on doing ”
” then enlighten me my lord ”
” can you handle it sweet snow ” he lean close ” can you handle the truth ” I watch him kiss my neck, grazing his teeth ” do you?”
” yes, show me ”
After that he step back and chuckle, he look defeated, look as if he wish he can change his life ” if only I can stop this, I can not bear to hurt you my sweet snow, I can not hurt you ”
” then don’t ”
” that’s why you should leave ”
” I won’t ”
” look at your mirror snow ”
” No, you’re trying to scare me ”
” do it snow ”
I stare at him for few seconds before turning my gaze to that direction, his reflection is not seen, I had to look at him again to make sure he is standing there.
Is he a ghost ” your reflection ”
” am not human sweet snow, you are to leave tomorrow ”
” my lord ”
” its an order ” he give me one last glance ” this is the last time I see you in my castle, you are to leave tomorrow, no complaints, nothing else ”
” please ” I fall down, completely forgot about the mirror issue ” please don’t leave me, I beg you not to leave me, don’t send me away… Please ”
” is for your good ” I watch him leave, not knowing that it will take years before I could see him again, if only I knew, I would have stop him, change his mind.
