Chapter Twenty-six
Desmond sat upright on the bed with the drip still fixed on him.
“Are you feeling better son?”.Mrs.Ava asked.
“Yes Mom, am fine”.
“But I am curious to know how you two got locked up in the cold room?”.Daisy asked and Desmond sighed.
“Did you find Jasmine there?”.Mr.George asked.
“Yes, Dad”.He said and explained how it happened and they were surprised.
“What was she doing in there?”.Mrs.Ava asked confusedly.
“What if she was dragged in there by someone”.Blake said.
“Did Jasmine leave the school premises after closing hours? What practice are you guys having?”.Mrs Ava asked and Desmond hesitate
“Is there something we should know?”.Mr.George asked staring at them and Daisy turned her face away.
Meanwhile, In Jasmine’s ward, she was sobbing quietly after she explained everything to her parents.
“Why didn’t you tell us you were framed for stealing?”.Mrs.Lucia asked as tears filled her eyes.
“Am sorry Mom, I didn’t want to stress you guys”.
“You are not stressing us Jasmine, we love you and we can never get tired of your problems”.Mr.James said.
“Why will they lie against you?”. Grandma Alma said.”My granddaughter can never steal”.
“Am sorry”.She sniffs.
“You don’t have to”.He said and they hugged her. then Mrs.Ava and her husband enter.
“Jasmine my dear”.She moved to her and caressed her face.” Desmond told us everything and we will readjust this issue tomorrow in school”.She said.

The next day in school, everyone was present in the principal office including Olivia whose presence was needed, she quant behind with her head bowed in a quilt.
“How dare you give her punishment for something she no nothing about”.Mr. George said angrily.
“I know my child very well, she will never Steal”. Mrs.Ava said.
“I am sorry”.The principal said.
“You are sorry? Did you know the pain my daughter had to go through”.Mr.James yelled.
“I had to follow the rules because the evidence was found in her bag”.
“And you suddenly believe she stole it, what if she was framed”.Mrs.Lucia said.
“And you”.Mrs.Ava said to Olivia and she flinched.”Did you see Jasmine stole the money?”.She asked and Olivia became frightened.” I am speaking to you!”.
“No, Ma”.She sputtered.
“Then how come you said she stole your money?”.Mr. George asked and Olivia fell on her knees sobbing.
“Please I am sorry, forgive me”.She said and everyone was surprised.
“Forgive you for what?”. The principal asked.
“I lied”.She sputtered and Jasmine was shocked.”She didn’t steal my money, I lied, please forgive me”.She sobs
“What? How could you do a thing like that?”.The principal said surprisedly.
“How could you, aren’t you supposed to be her best friend”.Mrs.Ava said.
“Not anymore, I don’t have any friends”. Jasmine said sadly as she dabbed at her eyes.
“You lie against her for stealing your money? weren’t best of friends, how could you do that?”.Mr.George said.
“I thought you were a nice girl, I didn’t know you were this heartless and mean, what did my daughter ever do to you?”.Mrs.Ava sighed angrily.
“Please I am sorry, I don’t know what came over me”.
“Is this how you were brought up by your parents? To think that we have been helping your family business by being their best investor and you have this heart to treat my daughter heartlessly, I don’t think we can continue doing business with your family anymore if they have a daughter like you, who knows what will happen next”.Mrs Ava said and her husband agreed.
“Please Mom, no”. Jasmine said seeing the guilt on Olivia’s face “You can’t punish her parents for what she did, I mean they no nothing about this, please don’t punish her parents for her wrongdoing”.She said.
“She is right, I am sure, they didn’t raise her to be like this, please let her face the punishment alone”.Mrs.Lucia said.
“Fine!”.
“Thank you, Mom”. Jasmine smile.
“I am really sorry, I didn’t know she lied, I promise to resolve this”.The principal said.
“Let it not repeat itself next time”.Mr. George warned as they stood up and left his office.
They came outside and their children came to them.
“We will be on our way now”.Mrs. Ava said.
“Ok, Mom”.Daisy smiled and then Jasmine and her parents came over
“Thank you so much for your help”.Mr.James said.
“Is our pleasure”.Mr.George replied.
“How are you, Fiona?”.Mrs.Lucia asked smiling at her and she turned her face away ignoring them.
“Aren’t you going to say hi to them?”.Mrs.Ava asked and Daisy reluctantly to them and forced a smile, Jasmine scoffed seeing her response to her parents.
“Is so good to see you”.Mr.James said.
“Alright kids, you all look after yourself”. Mrs. Ava said
“Come on Mom, stop calling us kids, we are not”. Desmond said.
“But you guys are?”.Mr.George teased and they laughed.
“It’s embarrassing, we are Adults now, soon we will be graduating”.Daisy said.
“You two will never seem to amaze me”.She said.”Alright, look after yourself “. She said and they turned to leave.
“Um, did you guys resolve everything?”. Desmond asked.
“Yes dear, she lied against her”.Mr.George said.
“Really?”Daisy feigns a surprise look.
“Yes, people like that are not meant to be your friend”.Mrs.Lucia said.
“That’s too bad, why will she lie against her own best friend?”.Daisy said and Jasmine scoffed.
“Correction! We are not friends”. Jasmine said and they stares coldly at each other.
“Too bad”.She said and turned her face away.
“Well, everything is resolved now, she will be punished for what she did”.Mrs. Ava said.
“Sure, we will be on our way”.Mr.George, they hug Their kids and then turn to enter the car, but Desmond stops them.
“Is there something else?”.He asked.
“Yes Dad, there is another issue I want you to resolve, I mean Jasmine was rest —“.He got interrupted as someone covered his mouth from behind, everyone was surprised by Jasmine’s sudden action.
“Jasmine what are you doing covering his mouth?”.Mrs.Lucia asked.
“Nothing”.She said still holding on tight and Desmond was struggling with her hand.
“Let him speak”.Mrs.Ava said.
“Don’t worry Mom, you should start going, you must be tired”.She said.
“Ok”.Mr.James said as they entered the car and drove off
