Chapter Twenty-Nine
Desmond couldn’t get over what happened in the hall-way, when they finally realized all eyes were on them, Jasmine stood up quickly and rushed to class feeling embarrassed.
“Is there something you are not telling us?”. Nathan asked Desmond as they were seated in the basketball room
“What do you mean?”. Desmond asked confusedly.
“Are you having a thing for Jasmine?”.He asked and they stared surprisedly at him.
“Why will you say that?”.Jake asked.
“Where you blind? Didn’t you see what happened in the hallway”.He said.
“And you think he had a thing for her, Desmond saved her from falling and they slipped, didn’t you see it?”.
“Why will you think I have a thing for her?”. Desmond asked.
“Because I want to know, Your constant closeness to her is not understandable, you never cared for her before when she was your sister and now she is nothing but trash–“.He said rudely and Desmond cut him short.
“That’s enough Nathan!”.He yelled.”Why does it bother you so much that I care for her? Do you have a problem with that?”.He asked angrily and Jake was trying to calm them down.
“That’s enough you two, why are we having this argument because of Jasmine, please!”.Jake said.
“Let Desmond tell us what he feels”.Nathan said and pushed closer to Desmond staring deep into His eyes.”Tell us”.He put his hand in his pocket and turned on a voice recorder and it was already connected around the school and everyone could hear what they were saying.”Do you feel a thing for Jasmine?”.He asked and the whole students were murmuring to each other.
Meanwhile, Jasmine was in class and was confused about what was going on.
“Why are you asking him that, Nathan?”.Jake asked.
“Let him answer the question, he once disliked her, and now why the sudden attention and care towards her, so, it means he has a thing for her”.He said and Desmond sighed tiredly.
“I don’t have a thing for Jasmine, she is not my type and I can never stoop so low to want to have a thing with her, all I did was out of pity, you know the challenge she is going through due to her background, all I do was because of pity and nothing more”. Desmond said.
Meanwhile, the students started laughing and making mockery faces at Jasmine, she lowered her face in sadness.
“Aww! that’s hash”.Daisy said mockery at her and they laughed.
“Are you sure about that?”.Nathan asked.
“Is there another reason? Can we please stop talking about this?”.He said.
“I made a confirmation that you always deliver lunch food for her at the roof through junior students, is that true?”.Nathan asked and Desmond sighed.
“He already told you why he is doing that, is because he pities her”.Jake said.
“My confirmation was right”.He smirks and turns off the voice recorder and Desmond walks away.
The whole class became rowdy making a mockery face at Jasmine, then Daisy walked up to her with her hands across her Brë@št.
“You really think my brother likes you that’s why he is looking after you”.She laughed.”Now you have heard the reason why he is doing that, so, don’t feel too big here”.She said and then Desmond and his friends entered to see the faces everyone was giving Jasmine and Nathan smirk.
“Such a shame”.Olivia laughed and then Desmond moved to where Daisy was.
“Daisy what is going on?”.He asked and Jasmine was staring hard at him.
“Nothing brother, am just trying to remind someone not to feel too big”.
“I am not”. Jasmine said and stood up facing Desmond.” Please, I beg you, stop caring for me, I don’t need your help and your pity, I am fine on my own, whenever you see me in trouble, just ignore me, I don’t need your pity anymore”.She said sadly and Desmond was confused.” Please! Stay away from me”.She took her books and walked away with tears in her eyes.
“What are you doing Daisy?”. Desmond asked.
“Why are you attacking me? I didn’t do anything, you said it yourself that wh@tëver you are doing for her is because you pity her”.She said and Desmond was surprised about how she knew.
“How did–“.He sputtered.
“Everyone in school heard you, it was on a voice recorder, so, you did the right thing by putting her in her place”.She said and left for her seat, While Desmond sighed in devastation
Jasmine came to the roof sobbing quietly.
“I never ask for your help”.She sniffs.
“aww, what a shame Jasmine, now you see for yourself what I have been telling you”. Nathan said in mockery and Jasmine cleaned her tears. “I warned you before, you thought I was lying”.
“Please leave me alone”.
“Oh come on, don’t be like that, I know you want to be consoled”.He said moving to sit next to her, but Jasmine drew away from him “You are all alone now, let me be the shoulder you will lean on”.He pushed closer and Jasmine kept reeling side away, She got to the edge and almost fell off the chair, Nathan grabbed her and pulled her closer to himself.”I gotcha you baby”.He smirks and Jasmine struggles to pull away from him.
“Let go of me!”.
“Relax, I am not going to hurt you”.He caressed her tight and Jasmine struggled hard then she bit his hand and he let out a scream and Jasmine pulled away from him quickly .”You bite me!”.
“Don’t you ever touch me like that again, you scvmbag”.She said angrily and tried to leave.
Suddenly, Nathan grabbed her from behind and covered her nose with a handkerchief, she struggled hard with him and then lost consciousness because the handkerchief was intoxicated by a sleeping drug.
“Now you are mine, you think you are stubborn, I will make your life a living hell”.He carried her to a hidden place and then walked away.
After school hours, Nathan assigned the two students who once helped him in locking Jasmine in the cold room, they carried Jasmine to the school hall. No one was around the school.
“What is your plan with her sir?”.1st student asked.
“The plan is to make her half naked and two of you will pretend to be making love with her while I set the camera”.Nathan said and the two students smiled happily.
“But what about our face?”.2nd student asked.
“I have a mask for you two, so don’t worry about that”.He smirks.”Let’s begin”.He said and then Jasmine started to regain consciousness.
“Boss, she is waking up, what do we do?”.1st student said.
“Don’t worry about that, she is still very weak, she won’t get herself till tomorrow morning”.He said and they smiled. “Well, let’s set the camera first”.
Meanwhile, Mrs.Lucia and her husband were worried about their daughter.
“Why is she not back?”.Grandma Alma asked.
“How about we call Mrs.Ava to see if her children are home by now”.Mrs. Lucia said.
“That’s a good idea”.Mr.James said. He took his phone and dialed Mrs.Ava’s number.
Mrs.Ava was having dinner with her family when her cell phone rang and she picked it up.
📞”Hello Mr.James”.She said and there was a pause.”We are fine, is everything ok?”.She asked and everyone turned their attention to her.”Yes, my kids returned from school about two hours ago”.She said and there was a pause and she turned to her kids.” Did you guys see Jasmine leaving the school today after closing hour?”.She asked.
“I don’t know, is she missing?”.Daisy asked.
“Her father said she is not home yet”.
“At this time?”.Mr George asked confusedly.
“That’s strange, Jasmine never stays out late”.Blake said.
“I guess she is probably having fun somewhere”.Daisy said nonchalantly.
“Did they call her number?”.Mr.George asked.
“She is not picking up”.She said and continued talking to Jasmine’s parents on the phone.
Blake took out his phone and checked on Jasmine’s tracker.
“Her tracker is saying she is still in school”.Blake said and Desmond stood up quickly.
“Is everything ok?”.Daisy asked staring at Desmond.
“Something is wrong, what if she was locked up in the cold room again?”.He asked and everyone stared confusedly at each other.
