Chapter Six
Some moments later Mr.James and his wife were still in a state of confusion.
“Something is not right here, how can my daughter be O-Negative when none of my family members are not”.He said.
“I don’t understand what is going on, was it a mistake?”.Mrs.Lucia sobs.
“We need to do a DNA test to prove it”.He said and his wife stared confusedly at him.
“Why? Do you suddenly believe our daughter is not yours and you don’t trust me enough”.
“I didn’t say that, I trust you with my own heart, but we need prove, you are not O-Negative nor any of your family, something might be wrong during Fiona’s birth”.He said.
“He is right”.Mr George said and then the doctor came out.
“Doctor, how is my daughter?”Mrs.Lucia asked.
“Well, she is out of danger now, but she is still unconscious, not to worry, she will be fine”. He said and they sighed in relief.
“Doctor, can I ask you a question?”.Mr. James asked.
“Yeah, sure”.
“OK, when you said my blood group doesn’t match with my daughter’s, what does it specify?”.
“Well, it means, she is not your biological daughter”.He said and they gasped.
“But how is that possible?”.Mrs.Ava questioned.
“Let’s get a DNA test to see,”.he said and they left with the doctor. Mr.George and his wife stay back.
“This doesn’t make sense”.She said.
“We just hope things come out fine”.He said.

Desmond and his siblings were worried about their parents.
“What is taking them so long?”.Blake worries.
“Do you think they are in trouble?”.Jasmine asked.
“Don’t say that”.Desmond said and then his cell phone rang, he picked it up as he saw the caller ID. 📞”Hello Mom”.There was a pause and he sighed in relief.”Thank goodness, sure”.He hung up.
“What did she say?”.Jasmine asked curiously.
“There is nothing to worry about, the victim is fine and they will be home very late”.
“That’s a relief”.Blake said.
“You guys can go to your room, Dad and Mom will be home late”.He stood up.
“I am not going, I will wait for them”.Jasmine said.
“Suit yourself then”.He said and walked away.
“Alright Jasmine, goodnight”.Blake said and left for his room.
Back at the hospital, everyone was seated after the DNA test was done.
“The result will be out in two days”.The doctor said and walked away.
“Mr. George, I think you and your wife should be heading home now”.Mr.James said.
“We don’t mind staying for a while”.Mrs.Ava said.
“No, you two need to go and rest, you have done enough for us and we don’t blame you for what happened, I know your kids will be worried about you”.He said politely.
“Ok, if you insist, we will come over tomorrow”.Mr.George said.
“Ok, thank you very much for your help”.He said as they shook hands and the women hugged each other.
“Thank you”.Mrs. Ava said as she left with her husband.
“I am worried, what if the results came out negative”.She said.
“Then will must find out the truth, so don’t worry, I trust you completely.”.He cuddled her in his arms.
Meanwhile, Jasmine fell asleep on the couch, Desmond came out of his room to get water from the refrigerator, he saw her sleeping on the couch, and he sighed.
“What a girl”.He sips from his water and then moves to wake her up.”Jasmine”.he taps her hand and she murmurs in her sleep.
“Mom”.
“Mom is not back yet, you need to go to your room”.
“Leave me alone, I am not going”. She said half asleep.
“You will get cold, is too chilling out here”.
“Why do you care, just leave me alone”.She said and Desmond sighed tiredly at her.
“I will be blamed for it, is not as if I care anyway”.He said and Jasmine continued sleeping. “gosh, I h@të to do this”.He sighed and carried her on his shoulder.
“What are you doing?”.
“Taking you to your room, dummy!”.
“I didn’t ask for your help”.
“Neither do I have a choice”.He groans.”Gosh, you are heavy”.He groaned in pain as he felt a pinch on his back.
“Don’t you dare tell a woman that she is heavy”.
“But you are”.he groaned again as he felt another pinch.
He finally got to her room and flipped her on the bed adjusting his shoulder.
“You suck!”.She said and dozed off.
“I will never do this again”.He covered her with the blanket and left the room as he turned off the light.
The next morning, the whole family was having their meal at the dining table.
“Mom, will the lady be alright?”.Jasmine asked.
“Yes dear, the doctor said she will be up in a couple of days”.She replied.
“That’s a relief”.Blake said.
“We will go to see them at the hospital later on”.
“Can I come with you?”.Jasmine asked.
“You can’t, you have school to go to”.Mrs.Ava said.
“But I come over after school hours” she insists
“Not today dear, maybe next time”.Mr.George said.
“You promise?”.
“I do Princess”. He said and they smiled at each other.
Jasmine shoves some pancakes in her mouth and Desmond scoffs staring at her.
“You shouldn’t be eating too much, I still feel pain in my shoulder carrying you to your room last night”.He said unlikely and Jasmine frowned at him.
“I don’t ask you”.
“You help your sister to her room? Aww! That’s so sweet”.Mrs.Ava said smiling.
“That’s new”.Blake tease.

Two days later, the results were out, and Mr. James and his wife were at the doctor’s office.
“Here is the result”.He gave it to Mr. James.
Mr.James took out the test result from the envelope, he and his wife glanced through it and they were shocked that their daughter’s DNA didn’t match with theirs.
“No!”.Mrs.Lucia screamed in pain.
“How is this possible doctor? We birth that child”.He said sadly.
“Yes, but there is something you should know too”.He said and they stared confusedly at him.
“What could that be?”.Mrs.Lucia asked.
“Tell us, doctor”.He said and the doctor sighed.
