Chapter Nine
At the hospital, Mr. George went alone to the doctor’s office with the sample of Jasmine’s hair. It was unknown to Jasmine because her mother sneaked into her room last night and took the hair on her comb. Both were seated in the lobby waiting.
“Mom, can we go and see the victim?”.Jasmine asked.
“Not yet honey, let’s wait for your father”. She said.
“Ok”.
Meanwhile, Mrs.Lucia was in her daughter’s room cleaning her body with a hand towel as she sat upright on the bed frowning her face with a white bandage cloth around her head.
“Do you feel any pain?”.She asked.
“Even if I do, are you a doctor?”.She said rudely.”Where is Dad?”
“He left for work, but he…”.She got interrupted.
“Is his work more important than his own daughter’s life?”.Fiona yelled.
“Don’t speak like that, your father has been by your side since the accident and he even had to take days off to be with you”.
“Yeah right, I don’t know why I didn’t die in that accident, it would have been better having you people as my parents”. She said rudely.
“That was rude!”.Jasmine said from behind and they turned to her. Isabella story, don’t copy.She excused herself a while ago to go ease herself, after coming out of the restroom, she wandered around and then came across the room.
“Jasmine?”.Fiona called happily and Mrs.Lucia was surprised to see her.
“You!”.Mrs.Lucia called.
“Is so good to see you again ma”.Jasmine said smiling.
“Same here”.
“Wait! You two have met before?”.Fiona asked.
“Yes, some days ago before your accident”.Mrs.Lucia said.
“Wow, is so good to see you, I am your number one fan and I admire you so much, you look so beautiful in reality, Isabella story, don’t copy.I wish I had a phone right now, I would have taken a selfie with you”.Fiona said excitedly and Jasmine smile forcedly at her
“Why are you here child?”.Mrs.Lucia asked politely.
“I actually came here with my parents to see someone”.She replied friendly.
“That’s good, this is my daughter Fiona”.
“Pleased to meet you,” Jasmine said and Fiona smiled.
“Thank you”.
“Sorry for what happened to you, hope you are getting better?”.She asked and Fiona nodded.
“Thanks for your hospitality”.Mrs.Lucia smiled.
“You are welcome ma”.She said and then her parents walked in. Fiona was amazed to see them.
“Jasmine, you are here and I was looking for you”.Mrs.Ava said.
“Sorry Mom”.She replied.
“How are you feeling dear?”.Mr.George asked talking to Fiona.
“Much better sir, am so happy to see all of you”.She said excitedly and they smiled at her.
“We are pleased to hear that, we are happy you are fine”. Mrs.Ava said.
“I am happy to”.
“Is she your daughter?”.Mrs.Lucia asked Mrs.Ava.
“Yes”.She replied warmly and the two women stared awkwardly at each other.
“Mrs.Ava, you and your family are so beautiful in person”. Fiona said.
“You are beautiful too”. Mr.George said and everyone laughed, then the doctor came in.
“hello everyone”.He said and moved to the patient.”How are you feeling dear?”.
“Better doctor, but I want to ask something”.
“Sure, go on”.
“Was the culprit caught?”.She asked and everyone stared confusedly at her.”I mean the driver that hit me” she said.
“Um….”.The doctor sputtered
“That driver needs to be taught a lesson, was he drunk? Why will he be driving roughly like that on the road, he needs to be jailed for it”.Fiona said angrily.
“Actually, it was my driver and I am sorry for everything”.Mr.George said and Fiona was surprised.
“Oh, it was you, well is not a problem, I am glad it was your driver…. I mean, not glad”.She laughs sheepishly.
“You are so funny”.Jasmine said smiling.
“We will take responsibility for everything”.Mrs.Ava said and Fiona smiled.

Days later, both families came to the hospital after the doctor called them.. Isabella story, don’t copy. They were seated in his office and handed the DNA result to them.
“The DNA test, done on each of you “.He said and they were surprised by the matches.
“This is not happening”.Mrs.Lucia said sadly.
“I know this is going to be hard for you all”.Doc.Ben said.
“My daughter”.Mrs.Ava sobs.
“How do we tell them?”.Mr.James asked confusedly.
“It going to be a matter of courage, let it out to them as soon as possible, no time or day should be delayed”.He said.
After a while, they came out of the doctor’s office.
“Thank you doctor for your help”.Mr.George said
“You are welcome, please excuse me let me check on the rest patient”.He walked away and both families were left behind.
“We are sorry for all the trouble”.Mr.George said.
“You don’t need to apologize to us, it wasn’t your fault, it was meant to happen someday”.Mr.James said.
“How do we tell the girls about this?”.Mrs.Ava asked as she moved to hug Mrs.Lucia.”Don’t blame yourself for this”.She said calmly and they pulled away from each other.
“You too, I know it’s gonna be hard, but we just have to do it”.She said.
“Let’s have a gathering this weekend so that we can break the news to everyone”.Mr.George suggested.

“Do you have plans for the weekend?”.Mr. James asked.

“Are you afraid of her?”.Jasmine tease.
“Is not because of them, we are having important guests coming over”.Mrs.Ava asked.
“Who could that be Mom?”.Jasmine asked.
“The girl your father’s driver hit, she and her family will be coming over for the weekend in other to say we are sorry”.She replied.
“That’s nice”.Jasmine said smiling.
“That’s good”.Blake said and they continued eating .
