“Why me? Just why me? In the whole world containing billions of persons, fate has to pick me” Jewel said while sitting on the sofa. “Why is mother nature so unfair? First it took my dad away and…” Jewel hiccuped trying not to cry.
“You lost your dad?” Luke asked and Jewel nodded as a fresh tear escaped her eye.
“I’m sorry” Luke said
“You don’t have to be” Jewel said “So now, we have to finish your unfinished business”
“Yes”
“Can’t you finish it alone, cause I have a lot going on in my life right now” Jewel said as she rested on the chair dejectedly.
“I wish I could but I don’t know where to start from. What unfinished business could I have?” Luke said as he placed his hands under his chin.
“The more I think about it, the more I think I need your help. Peanut please help me finish my unfinished business”
“Peanut???” Jewel asked
“I don’t know your name but your grandma called you peanut and you responded. So I thought your name was peanut” Luke said
“My family and bestfriend have a habit of naming me according to a snack. But the name is Jewel. Jewel Rise” Jewel replied
“Such a nice name”
“Thanks”
Luke looked at her and asked “You will help me right?” giving her puppy eyes. “Not Like I resist those charming eyes” Jewel replied unconscious to the fact she call his eyes charming.
“My eyes are charming??” Luke asked blinking his eyes like a girl as he leaned closer to her
“I didn’t say so” Jewel denied hotly.
“Yes you did”
“No I didn’t”
“Yes you did”
“No”
“Yes”
“Wh@tëver” Jewel said knowing she wasn’t going to win the argument.
“So if I’m to help you, I must know your unfinished business. So what could possibly the unfinished business of a celebrity like you?” Jewel asked
“I don’t know”
“What do you mean by you do not know?” a puzzled Jewel asked
“I don’t really know what my unfinished business could have been. I didn’t hold a grudge against anyone nor did I have a wish to accomplish” Luke said as Jewel grunt and ruffled her hair frustratedly.
“Really?? A dead end when we’ve not even begun”
“Jewel?? are you alright? you been talking to yourself for a while now” Glenda, Jewels mom, asked
Jewl turned to see her mom behind her. For how long has she been listening to their conversation. How much does her mom know? *But does it really matter, not like she cared* Jewel thought
“Are you alright? Do you need to see a doctor?” Glenda asked again interrupting Jewel from her thought.
“Why do you ask? you never cared so don’t act like you do” Jewel said as she rushed to her room. The moment she got to her room, tears started falling from her eyes. Just then Luke appeared before her.
“Gosh!! I’m never gonna get used to the fact that you are a ghost” Jewel said as she wiped her tears. Luke noticed it and asked “Do you wanna talk about it?” But when he didn’t get a response, he said “I guess your mom can’t see ghost like you do”
“Yeah, grandma gave birth to only dad and mom married into the family” Jewel said
“Alright. Goodnight. It’s late already. You missed lectures today. Go to sleep so you’ll attend tomorrow”
Jewel smiled as she climbed the bed. Ten minutes passed by and Jewel was still awake. She was staring at Luke who had his eyes closed sitting on the chair next to her bed.
“Aren’t you going to sleep” He asked with his eyes still closed.
“I can’t sleep” Jewel said and Luke opened his eyes.
“I didn’t know ghosts could sleep” Jewel said as she sat up.
“I also don’t know cause I close my eyes but still feel everything going on around me. Now lie down and sleep” Luke said
“Sing me a song” Jewel said
“Nope. I’m not in the mood”
“Please, it would make me fall asleep” Jewel said as she pouted her lips.
“Fine”

“That’s the song I headed in the memo…”
“Close your eyes” Luke interrupted her.
“I can’t. I’m enjoying seeing your face from up close. Never knew you were this cute” Jewel replied.
“Then I’m Leaving” Luke said
“No don’t”
“Yes I will. At least, you won’t have a reason to keep those eyes open” He said and disappeared.
Jewel closed her eyes and muttered sadly “I’m alone once again”.
*** NEXT DAY ***
Krrrhhhhh……Krrrhhhhhh
The alarm rang loudly the third time but Jewel was in her own world sleeping soundly.
“Is she always like this?” Luke asked as he looked at sleeping Jewel. Her messy hair was scattered on her face. Luke stared at her that he didn’t know when he started leaning close to her. He took his hand and tried removing a strand of hair from her face but his hand passed through her.
“I forgot I’m Just air” He muttered sadly. He blew breeze on her with his mouth and Jewel stared a little. If there was an award for the world’s best sleeper, she’d surely win.
Luke thought of what to do and a silly idea came to his mind the went towards her phone and tried dragging it towards her ear. It was hard but after the thirty-eight time, the phone moved a bit. He continued until, It was finally at her ear.
“Gosh!! I feel like I have been pushing a truck” He muttered. He looked at her phone counting a countdown in his mind.
Ten..Nine..Eight..Seven..Six..Five..Four..Three..Two..One..Zero
Krrrhhhhh……Krrrhhhhh………
The alarm ringed loudly in Jewel’s ear resetting her brain. She got up immediately and screamed because of how loud the alarm was, shocking the hell out of Luke who replied her scream with a scream of his own.
“Aaarrrrh”
*** Unknown hideout ***
The screams of a guy could be heard. It was obvious he was been tortured.
“Aaarrh” his screams echoed through the walls. The guy opened his eyes. He had cried till there were no more tears to be shed cause of the hellish pains he’s been through.
Footsteps were soon heard and a man with his face covered by a mask came in. He was dressed in total black and his appearance screamed fear.
“I’ll ask for the last time. Where’s the package” came his cold voice. The men who had been tortured on a electric chair looked at him with pleading eyes “Boss, I….I…….I”
“I What?” The masked guy asked impatiently bringing out a gun.
“I’m sorry boss. I lost it” He said shaking with fear.
“Wrong answer” The masked man said as he rammed a bullet into the tortured man’s head.
“Mole” he called and a guy came to him. “Clean this mess and you have a week to find me my package” the masked man said as he left the building.
***POTTER’S COLLEGE***
“What’s up with the silent treatment?” Luke asked as he moved around with Jewel.
“Please talk to me. Your silent treatment is killing me” Like said but Jewel ignored him as she went to a particular locker and opened it.
She’s been ignoring him since the alarm incident.
“Jewel, I would sing your a song tonight..And I…I…um I will do wh@tëver you ask. Just please stop with this silence” He said again but Jewel just ignored him. She entered her class and she was lucky enough to find an empty seat.
She looked around but couldn’t find Dina.
“I guess her Flight hasn’t landed yet” She muttered. Few minutes later, Miss Daisy, the maths Lecturer came in. She started her lecture but Jewel was far from listening cause luke was distracting her.
He was speaking gibberish. He had been trying to make her stop her silent treatment but ended up speaking gibberish in her ears.
Jewel couldn’t even get what the teacher was saying.
“Pls shut up” She muttered to Luke who was beside her “Par ah ba ka blah blah blah” he continued”
“And to find x you have to….” Miss Daisy said as she continued her lecture
“Par an ka ma blah blah blah…” Luke also continued
It became to much that all Jewel was hearing was “bring blah blah cross multiply blah blah to the blah blah addition” She got annoyed that she didn’t know when she stood up from her seat and shouted “Just shut up” and everyone gasped
