Chapter 2 – The Han River
The city of Seoul flashed by. Even at this late hour, the city was still as awake as ever. The bright city lights up the world like a Christmas tree. The shops were filled with people’s laughter from different sets of tongues and voices entered her ears as she rolled the windows of her car down. The wind blew in, picking up strands of her silky ebony hair.
SoMi turned into an empty road and parked in a quiet corner near Han River. The chatterbox of voices quiet were gone, the lights were dimmer and the wind were stronger and cleaner.
She stared out at the river with blank eyes. Her eyes held the voyages of broken dreams and hopes, the brave determination of a fool, and the stubbornness of a mule.
Slamming her fist against the wheels of her car, she screamed in anger. Her hands formed a fist as her nails sug into the skin of her palms.
A flash of memory resurfaced, breaking through the great Wall of China she had built in her mind.
The memory was still fresh in her head and still affected her the same way as it did before.
‘A teenage girl fell unto the ground, blood covering her school uniform as the sky poured endlessly and heavily, washing trace of blood off. A car laid ahead, as fire ate it up. Inside the car laid the only home she had ever known.
It was unmistakable that the warm liquid spilling down her cheeks were due to the rain. She was crying, she was falling apart right at this moment. At this moment, she crumbled, she shattered.
SoMi blocked the memory out of her mind and focused her attention on her current situation.
She took out her laptop and turned it on as she sorted through some files she had collected over the years.
She was look for one in specific. The one with the information on NCT, an underground gang that is divided into two, both were stationed in Seoul. NCT was feared by many. They were on the top of the food chain, trained assassins who deals not only in killing, but in hacking into government files, stealing precious artifacts, and expanding their territory. Though she didn’t know the members of the gang, she knew one thing, finding out who NCT essential.
…
JEON ESTATE
“We’re late.” Johnny groaned. He h@tëd being late. They were currently driving to the Jeon estate.
“Yeah yeah yeah. We can tell by how fast you’re driving.” Doyoung complained from the backseat.
The leader was driving like they’re running a soul black hole.
Honestly, they were used to Johnny’s style of driving. It was quite useful in sticky situations.
Johnny took a rapid turn at a corner and cuts in front of a mini van that an old grandman was driving.
“Are you nervous?” Taeyong questioned from the passenger seat. Johnny threw him a sharp glare.
“Of course he is nervous. He is meeting his fiancee tonight.” Doyoung reminded knowing that he is going to get his whoop by Johnny later.
“Shut up!” Johnny groan through gritted teeth. He didn’t need this two hooligans drilling at his nerves tonight.
“Well, if you want.” Doyoung insisted pulling his laptop which was under the seat. “I can always look at her profile.” Doyoung knew his ways around computers.
He wasn’t as good as hacking as Yuta, but he knew enough to peek inside classified government files.
“Don’t.” Johnny warned. He didn’t want to know a thing about the woman. She probably some stuck up spoil brat. If it wasn’t for the fact that marrying her would connect trading ties between Chicago and Korea for Suh Corporations, he won’t be here. Marriage was something he never planned and he wasn’t looking forward to it either.
