SPARK COMPANY.
Instead of greeting him as he entered, they were all murmuring mean things about him but Joshua just braced himself and climbed on the escalator.
It took him a minute to reach the first floor and he went to his record label office.
He breathed before knocking the door twice and entering inside.
“Joshua,” his manager stood up and moved to him.
“Please have a seat, sit here” he pointed to the empty chair beside a guy of his age.
Joshua gave the guy a look before sitting on the empty chair beside him. He looked at his record label silently waiting for him to say something.
After a while of silence, the strict looking man sitting opposite him cleared his throat.
“Joshua Donovan, do you know why I’ve called you here today?” He asked slowly.
Joshua shook his head while he played with his fingers under the table to calm his nerves.
The guy opposite him had a smile on his face but didn’t look at Joshua.
“You see Joshua, with you here things haven’t been easy for us…” The man started and Joshua swallowed.
“What do… you.. mean?” He stuttered as he asked.
The label exchanges looks with the manager before continuing.
“This company has been facing a lot of criticisms all because of you and after discussing with the boards, we realized that the only way to end this is to kick you out”
Joshua could feel his eyes getting all misty, just like that? Was his career really going to end?
“So we have decided to terminate your contract” he completed.
A teardrop fell from Joshua’s eyes and he turned to look at the guy by his side.
“Who’s he?” He asked slowly.
“He’s Miguel Langdon an upcoming artist, we saw the potential in him so we decided to sign him instead because we are sure he’d do us a great job unlike you” his label said proudly.
Joshua folded his fist under the table and another tear dropped from his eyes.
“I’ve worked with you for four years now, are you just going to abandon me, just like that?” He asked in a low voice.
“In cases like this, it doesn’t matter who we have worked with or how many years we worked with the person. What matters is keeping a stable company and kicking out various. Sparks’ company has been one of the best for years now and we can’t just let you spoil it for us, I hope you understand” His label tried explaining to him.
“I don’t understand!!” Joshua yelled out and his manager placed his hands on shoulders.
“We understand your pains Joshua but..
Joshua slapped his manager’s hands off before he could finish.
“Don’t tell me that Sh|t! For years now I’ve worked with you guys, released good songs and music, brought a lot of money to this company and now you’re abandoning me?” He asked painfully.
“Joshua-”
“You guys never really cared about me and I promise all of you, you will come back to beg me!!” He yelled as more tears fell from his eyes.
His label sighed and brought out a contract.
“Just sign here and let’s get this over with. We don’t need you anymore” the man glared at Joshua.
“Please sign it,” his manager said softly.
Joshua slowly collected it and went through it, it says they were filing him over $100M which was almost like taking all his money from his account.
“You can’t do this to me” Joshua shook his head.
“If you don’t sign this contract then we will arrest you and besides we’ve collected our money from you already so sign it” His label said without emotion.
Joshua immediately brought out his phone, he saw the alert of $100M has been deducted through his company account. That was almost all his money, he was left with 20% now”
He shook his head, unable to believe it.
“So Joshua sign it and leave, this would be the last time I’m telling you this” his label warned.
Joshua’s manager gave Joshua the pen and Joshua stared at it for a while before collecting and signing it.
He stood up and rushed out of the company immediately.
“Perfect, make sure the public knows about this so we’ll stop facing criticism” Spark label order Joshua’s ex manager and he nodded immediately.

“Unbelievable, Joshua Donovan just lost his career”
“Spark Light just terminated contract with him”
“This is so unbelievable”
“I kinda feel bad for him”
“I think he deserves it, he doesn’t deserve to be signed by sparks anyways”
“Yes I agree with you sparks has been stable for decades and Joshua wants to spoil them, if I were them I will do the same”
Like a wide fire, the news has spread around, everyone is talking about this.
David kept pacing back and forth with his phone on his ears, he just returned from school when he heard the news and he has been trying to get to his brother but he couldn’t.
“Come on bro, pick up your phone please” he muttered.
His mum began calling and he picked immediately.
“Have you heard from Joshua, did you see the news, oh my poor boy” Evelyn cried from the other end.
“Mum please don’t give me your own stress, okay, I’m worried about Joshua!” He hung up and rushed out of the house immediately.

OLIVIA’S PLACE.
“Livy” Sydney ran inside Olivia’s room like a mad person.
“Livy, have you seen the news?” She asked.
“What news?” Olivia, who was sitting on the bed and playing the guitar asked.
“Gosh, are you not in California?? Joshua just lost his career!!” Sydney yelled.
Olivia frozed.
“What did you say?” She asked slowly.
“I said Joshua just lost his career, Spark Light just terminated his contract” Sydney replied.
Olivia immediately took out her phone and checked the news. It was all over the internet, millions of people were talking about it.
Her phone slowly fell from her hands and she began seeing double.
“Hey Livy what’s wrong?” Sydney asked worriedly.
Olivia fainted.
“Livy!!” Sydney yelled.

FALLONS’ MANSION.
Pinky laughs filled the living room while Teddy was sitting on the couch and rubbing his head.
“Get me more drinks, today is my lucky day!!” She rejoiced and the maids brought her more grape juice.
“Joshua is finished, the corn scratch is finished, who’s happy? Hey all of you bring your cups and let’s drink together” she said to the maids.
They happily brought their cups and Pinky began pouring the juice.
Teddy stared at her with a thick glare and she smirked.
“Why is big brother looking at me that way? Am I the one who ended Joshua’s career?” She asked cutely.
Teddy stood up still staring at her and she hiccupped.
“What has gotten over you? You were not like this before” he asked slowly.
Pinky hiccuped again.
“What do you mean?” She asked slowly.
“I don’t see my cute little sis anymore, I only see a witch” he replied and left to climb the stairs to his room.
Pinky scoffed twice before taking another jug of grape juice, she gulped it whole and wiped her mouth.
“Cheers!!” She screamed.

EVENING.
Carly has been trying to get to Joshua but couldn’t reach him, she has checked everywhere but couldn’t find him.
“Where did he go, did he hurt himself?” she thought.
The door opened and an unfamiliar guy rushed in.
“Where’s he?” He asked.
Carly gave him a confused look and couldn’t help but wonder that the guy looked a little like Joshua.
“Who are you?” She asked.
He breathed.
“I’m David, Joshua’s brother, I heard from my source that Joshua is working here, where is he?” He asked.
“I don’t believe you, show me your ID” she replied and David gave her a confused look.
“He left in the morning to go see his record label and now I can’t reach him” Carly replied when she suddenly recalled Joshua talking about David to her.
“Füçk shît! Where does he leave?” He asked.
“He’s not at home, I checked there in the afternoon” Carly replied.
“Just give me the address, let me check if he came back or not” David pleaded.
“Okay, let’s go together first” she said and David nodded, he went to his speed bike that was packed outside and gave her a helmet.
“Put it on,” he said.
Carly blinked and David wore it on her head. He climbed the bike and motioned to enter.
She did and he started the ride while listening to all that she was telling him.
It wasn’t up to ten minutes when they got to the neighborhood, Carly led David to Joshua’s room and they met the door locked.
“Joshua” Carly knocked on the door but no reply.
“Move it” David pushed her one side and began hitting the door with his thick boot, he hit on the lever till it broke then he opened it.
Both him and Carly went in, they turned on the light and what welcomed them wasn’t a good sight at all.
