BACK TO THE HOSPITAL.
While Carly was still placing her head on Joshua’s chest and rubbing this slightly, she began hearing something vibrating from his pocket.
She immediately raised her head up, even Joshua looked at her confusedly.
“Something is sound here” she pointed to his pocket and he brought his hands to feel it.
It was his vibrating phone and he pulled it out.
“Your phone is ringing” she told him and he stared at the caller’s ID, it was an unknown number so he wasn’t going to pick it up.
“What if it’s important?” Carly said to him and he stared at the phone for a while before picking the call.
He didn’t say anything and the person didn’t say anything either.
“Won’t you say something” Carly whispered but it was loud enough for the person to hear and the person hung up.
A teardrop fell from Olivia’s eyes, she just wanted to hear his voice and nothing more but didn’t even get the chance to, seems like he’s taking comfort in another girl’s arms, just like that.
She slowly dropped Sydney’s phone back on her reading table and that’s when Sydney came out from the restroom.
“What happened, why do your face look that way?” Sydney asked the moment she saw her face and Olivia shook her head immediately.
“It’s nothing, where’s the food I’m hungry?” She walked towards the small dining area and opened the bag Sydney bought.
It was two plates of steak, she took hers with the chopstick and began eating.
Sydney sat opposite her and took another plate.
“Eat slowly, you’re still a girl, remember?” She said, Olivia nodded and tried slowing down her pace.
“So you never told me that your mother hit you” Sydney said and Olivia stopped eating.
“I’m sorry if I..
“No, it’s fine. My mom was just angry at me, it’s nothing trust me” she forced a smile.
Sydney knew she was lying but decided not to pry too much, maybe later.
“Oh” Sydney nodded and resumed eating.

“That’s weird” Carly muttered when the person that was calling Joshua hung up without saying anything.
Joshua sighed and was about to drop his phone when it began ringing again.
He checked and he saw it was his mom, he sighed before picking.
“Joshua, where are you?” Evelyn asked without delaying time.
“Mom..
“Don’t mom me and just give me your house address or else I will track down your phone!” She threatened.
Joshua stared at Carly before putting his attention back to his phone.
“Fine, hang up and I will text it to you” he said and Evelyn hung up.
Joshua went to text message, he texted his house address to his mother before putting off his phone and looking at Davis.
“Can you go look for David? Tell him that we are going home” he said softly.
Carly didn’t argue with him, she just nodded and went out to look for David.
She met him standing outside with his hands in his pocket, he looked really angry.
“David,” she called gently.
“What!?” He snapped and immediately regretted it.
“I’m sorry, what?” He asked gently
“Joshua said I should call you, we want to go home” she informed him and without waiting for his reply, she went back in.
David frowned and turned around to follow her back to Joshua’s ward. He met Joshua standing on his feet.
“Why are you frowning your face like that, let’s go, PS; I’m riding your speed bike” he added and left.
Carly left with him and David looked left and right before running after them.

JOSHUA’S PLACE.
“This place is so Füçking small” David shook his head the moment Carly just finished giving him a tour.
“If you’re not comfortable then you can take your speed bike and ride out of here!” Carly scoffed and David turned to look at her.
“How come you’re mad at me, I apologized for snapping at you already” he said.
“No you didn’t” Carly scoffed and David just helplessly shook his head.
“You’re so childish. If it’ll make you feel better, I’m sorry” he rolled his eyes.
“Not accepted, do it properly” she smirked.
David smiled and moved closer to her than brought his hands to pat her head.
“I’m sorry,” he said.
“Now we are talking, forgiven” she smiled and happily jugged towards Joshua while David just laughed and shook his head.
In no time, there was a knock on the door.
“Huh? Brother, are you expecting any visitors?” David asked with a confused look and Joshua sighed.
“It’s mom, I gave her the address” he simply replied.
“Oh” David nodded and rushed to the door, he opened it and Evelyn stepped immediately.
“My boy” her eyes searched for Joshua and she found him standing with his hands in his pocket.
She moved closer to him and cupped his cheeks then looked at his face closely.
“Oh my, you look so awful, you must have taken that news too harshly,” she said in tears.
“He just lost the career he built for over five years so what do you expect?” David muttered and Carly pinched his arms.
Joshua sighed and placed his hands on his mom’s hands that were on his face.
“Of course I’m sad but I’m fine, can you stop shaking my face like that?” He said and slowly brought her hands down.
Evelyn sniffed and looked at him from head to toes, she grabbed his forearms and forcefully turned him over.
“You’ve lost too much weight, I’m sure all your six-packs have turned to ribs” she said painfully.
“Same thought as me” David nodded and Carly pinched him again.
“Ouch!” He winced as he looked at her.
Joshua sighed and slowly removed his mom’s hands from him.
“I’m fine with my six packs so don’t worry” he muttered.
“Remove your shirt and show us” David suggested and stepped away from Carly before she pinched him again.
Evelyn shook her head and bit her lips hard.
“I don’t see any gas or cooker, I don’t see any kitchen so what have you been eating?” She asked and Carly looked around.
That was when she noticed there was nothing in Joshua’s house, he hadn’t been eating good food for some time now, was that why he was losing hair?
“I told you that I’m fine already” Joshua sighed and slumped on one of the chairs.
Evelyn began looking around and that was when her gaze fell on a short girl putting on glasses and… Wait, is she wearing a purple shirt, blue skirt and a green shoe??
Carly pressed her lips together and looked down when she felt Evelyn’s gaze.
“Who’s she?” Evelyn asked with a frown.
“She’s baby sis mom, she saved Joshua’s life twice now” David replied for her.
Evelyn looked at Carly head to toes and scoffed.
“Who knows maybe she’s like Olivia, angel for now, vicious the other moment”.
“Huh? I’m not like that aunty, I swear” Carly raised her hands up immediately.
Evelyn still scoffed.
“What do you say you are to Joshua and how old are you?” She asked.
“I’m Carly Spencer, I’m 16 years old, I have no parents and Joshua took me as his baby sister” Carly replied, her voice sounded so cute that Evelyn was starting to think that she was faking it.
“I wanted to ask why you’re dressed like that but since you said you don’t have parents then it’s okay but even orphans don’t dress this way in their home, don’t tell me you came out looking like this?” Evelyn asked, looking at her from head to toes.
Carly pressed her lips together and Joshua stood up.
“I won’t stand here and watch you insult her that way mom!” He said angrily.
“But I was just..”
Joshua took Carly’s hands and went out of his room without allowing his mom to finish.
Evelyn looked at David.
“I didn’t say anything wrong,did I?” She asked.
“You shouldn’t have said that to the girl that saved your son’s life twice,” David replied.
“But I don’t just want Joshua to have any other girlfriend, from the way I saw her looking at him, it looks as if she likes him” she muttered.
“What do you mean by you don’t want Joshua to have any other girlfriend, should he be a nun then?” David asked with an eye roll.
“But having a girlfriend was the one who ended his career” Evelyn scoffed.
“I know, I h@të Olivia too,” David muttered.

CARLY’S ROOM.
“Your mom doesn’t like me” Carly said the moment they stepped into her room- her and Joshua.
“She does, she just loves being dramatic” Joshua replied and Carly puffed some air in her cheeks.
Joshua looked at her and smiled dryly.
“You shouldn’t think too much about what people are saying about your dressing code, as long as you love it then it’s cool” he said.
“But you find the way I dress somehow weird?” She asked.
“To be honest when I first saw you, I found it really weird but not anymore because I’m used to it,” he replied and went to take a seat.
“Oh” Carly nodded, “I actually don’t do it on purpose I.. I have” she bit her lips hard, thinking whether she should tell him or not.
“What do you have?” Joshua looked at her and asked.
“I have..” she pressed her lips tight and shut her eyes tight as she struggled with her thoughts.
