At the end, Carly decided to not tell him.
“Nevermind, it’s nothing” she muttered.
Joshua stared at her for a while before shrugging his shoulders.
“If you say so, I won’t force you then but I’ll be signing you to school before Monday” he told her.
Carly’s eyes widened and she went to sit beside him immediately.
“Sign who to school?” She asked.
“You” he replied.
“What? No no no please don’t do it” she held his forearms as she pleaded with him.
“Why?” Joshua asked confusedly.
When she wanted to reply, he cut her off.
“Don’t you wanna go to school?” He asked slowly.
“I want to go but look at you Joshua, you have no money left so save the little you have for something reasonable” she replied.
“Oh so sending you to school is unreasonable?” He asked with one of his brows raised.
“No no not that. You might need your little money later so keep it and besides, I’m fine not going to school, I’ve stayed at for some years now so it’s nothing” she shrugged.
“Carly..” Joshua dragged her name.
“I’m fine Joshua, please save your money. I’ll look for a school that offers scholarships and if I see one, I’ll read for the exams. Madam Beatrice gave me a lot of books to read” she smiled.
Joshua didn’t say anything else, he just pressed his lips and looked elsewhere.
“Right” Carly poked his cheeks and he looked at her.
“Listening to what your mom just said, I realized that you don’t have any gas or food in your house so what do you eat?” She decided to change the topic.
“I just ordered food online, no big deal” he shrugged and Carly shook her head.
“That isn’t healthy and safe, from now one I will take care of you” she nodded.
Joshua stared at her face and chuckled.
“How?” He asked.
“Don’t underestimate me, I won’t let you leave your house with an empty stomach, I will treat you well I promise” she smiled to herself Joshua placed his hands on her head.
She slowly turned to look at him and he just smiled at her, he patted her head twice before retreating his hands and standing up.
“I’ll go say goodbye to mom, you coming?” He asked.
“I’m good here” Carly replied and pressed her lips together.
Joshua nodded before leaving, once he shot the door closed, Carly looked up and released a sigh.

JOSHUA’S ROOM.
“I thought you won’t come” Evelyn scoffed the moment Joshua stepped in.
David was sitting on the couch and pressing his phone.
“I came to see the both of you out” Joshua replied and David turned to look at him immediately.
“What..what do you mean?” He asked and blinked slowly.
“It’s time for the both of you to leave, this house can’t contain all of us, I bought it for only me remember?” Joshua repeated.
David turned to face Evelyn with a smile.
“Mom, you heard him right? This house can’t contain you so leave, I will escort you to your car” he stood and held Evelyn by the forearm.
“Why are you staying here Joshua? Come leave with David and I, this place is too poor for you, there’s no bodyguard here so you’re not safe” Evelyn said but Joshua didn’t reply.
He followed David from behind as he led his mom out before closing the door.
“Hey!!” David yelled and ran back towards Joshua’s room but Joshua already locked his door.
“d@mn you bro! How can you lose your career and turn cold hearted at the same time? These people you are chasing out came here because they were worried about you! How dare you!!” He yelled and kicked the door but no reply from Joshua.
David smiled and pointed twice at the door.
“Next time, I’ll make it really hard for you to chase me away,” he said with a scoff before turning back to his mother’s car.

EVENING.
Joshua’s eyes were glued to his laptop when the doorbell sounded.
“Come in” he replied, thinking it was Carly but the person kept on ringing the bell.
Joshua got annoyed and shut his laptop close, he moved closer to the door and opened it.
“Delivery for Joshua Donovan, please sign here” a man dressed in a t-shirt passed a book to Joshua to sign.
“Huh?” Joshua looked confused as he stared at the man.
“Delivery for me?” He asked again to be sure.
“Yes, sign here please, your goods are waiting outside” the delivery guy replied and Joshua creased his brows before collecting the book.
He signed it up and gave it back to the man.
“Thank you Mr Donovan, please wait here” the man closed his book and went out.
In just two minutes, the man came back with a group of other guys carrying some carton each, some large, some medium and some small.
Joshua looked confused as they entered, dropped everything then left.
“What just happened?” He asked himself then his phone beeped.

Joshua sighed and put his hands in his pocket before walking closer to everything.
He opened a carton and found a new electric cooker, he opened another and there were some cooking ingredients.
“Mom,” he sighed and shook his head.

NEXT MORNING★ CARLY’S ROOM.
“Beep beep”
“Beep beep”
Carly woke up with the beeping sound of her phone, she stretched her hands to it and turned it on.
It was a message telling her that she had just received a new mail waiting for her outside.
Her sleep cleared from her eyes and she sat up again, she checked her phone and it was the same message.
“New mail? When did I start receiving mail?” She thought and creased her brows, looking left and right.
She then sighed and stood up, wearing different legs of slippers since she had two of the same brands, same size but different colors before stepping out of her room.
She packed her already loose hair as she walked out of her neighbors hood to the mailbox outside.
The male box was something she never thought she would use but she’s going to use it for the first time and she didn’t know why.
She opened it and took the envelope that was there, opened it and began reading the letter that was in.
