Carly found her way to miss Nemah office. She knocked on the door and waited for seconds before Miss Nemah told her to come in.
She opened the office and stepped in.
“Carly, why are you here?” Miss Nemah, who was sitting at her desk, asked before taking off her glasses.
“Ma’am, good afternoon” Carly moved closer to her.
“Have a sit” Miss Nemah smiled at her.
Carly nodded and sat down before clearing her throat.
“About why I’m here, it’s about the art project. Miss Nemah I really need my grades please” she pleaded.
“Carly it’s a team work, I know the three of you have differences but you failed to put it aside and act as a team” Miss Nemah said.
“We really wanted to ma’am, we were willing to put up with Pinky and her behavior but she purposely stayed away” Carly frowned.
Miss Nemah put her glasses back on and shook her head.
“How about a make-up test? Is there anything I can do to make up for my negligence? They might not need the grade but I do, school is all I have left please” Carly pleaded with her palms folded together.
Miss Nemah gave her one last look before sighing.

Carly came out of the office with a smile, she found her way to her locker room only to meet her phone ringing.
“Why is David calling?” she muttered and picked the call.
“Carly?” Richard’s voice sounded and Carly creased her brows.
“Who are you and why are you the one answering David’s phone, where is David?” She asked with a slightly worried look.
“I’m Richard, David’s friend. David is hurt, please come see him at the school park” Richard hung up after talking.
Carly stared at her phone before rushing to the school park. Joshua was somewhere beside her, he saw her and followed her.

SCHOOL PARK.
“David, are you okay? I heard you’re…” Carly couldn’t complete what she was saying as she ran to the school pack.
She was tongue tied with all that she was seeing there, they were balloons, they were flowers, they were ribbons and romantic smoke.
David, who was backing her, slowly turned to face her. He was holding a huge flower.
“David what’s going on? What are you up to?” Carly looked around as she asked with a confused look.
David smiled and moved closer to her, he stopped just a few inches away from her.
“I have a question to ask you” he said and Carly looked at him.
“If you like someone, how can you tell the person?” He asked.
Carly creased her brows and looked around before smiling.
“You like someone? Who’s that lucky girl and why didn’t you tell me anything?” She asked happily.
“I was gonna tell her but I’m too shy to confess to her,” he muttered.
“I’m not really good at this but just try, I’m sure she’d like you too, you’re funny and handsome, I can’t wait to see who that girl is!!” Carly squealed happily.
David licked his lips before speaking again.
“Okay so will you mind if I practice with you first? I don’t want to embarrass myself” He asked and Carly nodded happily.
David cleared his throat and looked her in the eyes before saying what he wanted to.
“I love you”.
“I love you too now go tell her” Carly replied.
David chuckled and licked his lips before looking at her with a smile.
“I just did, I mean it Carly, I love you” he replied.
Carly, who was smiling, stopped and her face turned to a confused look.
“Carly I know I’m out of the blue but I really love you, I don’t see you as a sister or best friend anymore. I want us to be together Carly” he moved closer to her with pleading eyes.
Carly moved back and looked left and right. She didn’t know what to say.
“I love you Carly, do you love me?” He asked slowly with his eyes getting a bit misty.
Carly kept staring at him without saying a thing. Shocked and surprised was all that she felt but she has never for once felt anything special for him.
“Answer me please, do you love me?” He asked again but this time, tears came out of his eyes because deep down within, he already knows her answer.
Carly was really in a tight spot, she still couldn’t bring herself to tell him anything.
David laughed out in tears and cleaned his eyes before settling his gaze on her again.
“But you like Joshua?” He asked with a look that says he doesn’t need to know, he already knows the answer.
“David” Carly called slowly and David laughed again. Next thing, it turned to a glare.
“Get out! Just go, I don’t wanna see your face” he muttered.
“David, listen I..
“Just leave!!” David yelled this time and Carly turned around and left in tears.
David looked at the flowers on his hands before throwing it on the floor and stepping on it.
Not enough, he began spoiling the decorations he made earlier, destroying the balloons and the ribbons and the smoke machine.
“David” Trey moved closer to him.
“I want to be alone please” David glared at him with red eyes.
Richard looked at Trey and motioned him to leave. The both of them leave and David slowly slipped on the floor.
“d@mn it all to hell! d@mn that bàstard they call love!!” He screamed out in anger.
Someone behind Pinky and Susan were peeking, there was a smile on Pinky’s face while Susan looked worried.
“I feel bad for him, I think we shouldn’t push through with the plan tonight,” Susan muttered with her eyes on him.
“Hell no! We will push through with it, it might even make him feel better” Pinky smiled and grabbed Susan’s hand then pulled her out.

When Carly came out of the park, she was surprised to see Joshua standing there with his eyes on her.
“We need to talk” he said and now they were in an empty section of the school compound.
Everyone was silent with Joshua looking forward and not saying anything while Carly was fidgeting with her fingers.
“Is it true? Is David correct? Do you like me?” He finally asked after a while of silence.
Carly pouted sadly before nodding.
Joshua sighed and still didn’t look at her.
“You know I don’t see you that way right?” He replied.
Carly looked at him and a teardrop fell from her eyes before she nodded.
“Carly you’re still young and beautiful, you have a lot of time to think of these things, I didn’t send you to school to develop feelings for me, I sent you here to become a better person in the future” he almost yelled.
“I’m sorry” Carly apologized slowly and sniffed the tears that were coming out of her eyes.
“It’s not your fault Carly, love in highschool is underrated, zero over ten. I wouldn’t recommend it, I don’t want you to be like me, Olivia and I were too reckless and look at how we are now, look at me Carly! Aren’t you learning from my mistake?” He asked, looking almost disappointed.
Carly closed her eyes and more tears came out. Joshua brought his hands to her shoulders.
“I’m glad you came into my life Carly,I was a mess and you saved me, you took me from darkness and made me see light again. You were that lucky star I’ve never had and all I want is to see you shine bright, so bright, brighter than the star Carly, I will not let you ruin your future by falling into this tiny trap Carly so I will help you give up on me” he said before leaving her shoulders.
“From now on, we should really avoid ourselves, me, you and David. I’m moving away from my house and distancing myself away from you if that’s what it’ll take for you to be a better person in the future” he said.
“No Joshua, please don’t” Carly cried and shook her head.
Joshua cupped her cheeks and wiped her eyes.
“Carly, I know I’m really making the best decision now. Please do this for me, don’t get distracted” he said softly.
Carly’s tears kept falling freely from her cheeks.
“I’m sorry for breaking your heart this way but it’s for the best. In the future, you’ll find someone better than me and will be able to leave happily so try to forget about me and don’t ruin your chance in becoming someone” he said softly and wiped her tears before pulling her for a hug.
Trust me Carly, this isn’t goodbye it’s simply, see you later as a better person” he whispered before pulling away from the hug.
He gave her one last look before turning around and leaving.
Carly slowly bent on the floor, she covered her face with her palms and began crying. How come being in love hurts this way?

EVENING★ FALLONS’ MANSION.
Pinky went to the soldier’s suit with a smile on her face.
“Everyone rise up” she ordered but they kept looking at her.
She brought out the token and showed it to them and they stood up immediately.
“Grandpa gave me this token and you guys too follow my orders” she said and brought out her phone.
“You saw this boy in this photo?” That boy was David. “I want you to find him and give him a really good beating of his life” she said.
The soldiers looked confused as they stared at themselves.
“What? Are you gonna disobey me? I already have the token or should I tell Grandpa so he can put all of you to your place?” She yelled.
“Let’s go” the soldiers said to themselves before leaving the house.
Pinky smiled as she watched them leave.
“I warned you countless times that you shouldn’t underestimate me but you didn’t listen, now I don’t feel sorry for you” she said with a satisfactory smile on her face.
