I arrived at Zaria around 6’0 clock in the evening.
I feel exhausted from the long journey.
The load was too heavy for me to carry alone so the driver assisted me.
It is already late, so i took a bike to the house of one of my senior in secondary School who is already in 300L in the school.
Immediately i arrived at her house,
I was so tired that my eyes droop shut and i didn’t bother to take off my shoes before I fell asleep on the sofa in her room and I slept there overnight.
She tried to wake me up so that I can sleep on the bed.
But am fast asleep.
Very early in the morning while the sun was still rising.”
I took my bath and ate the breakfast she prepared for me.
I then headed to the school premises, i did not know where the falcuty registration office is located, so i came across a lady and asked her.
Good afternoon ma.
Sorry to bother you.
Please am a new student here.
I’m (kind of) lost.
I’m struggling to find my way around.
Am a Nursing student to be precise and I don’t know where the falcuty registration office is located, Could you (please) tell me where it is?
Oh no problem
You are welcome
Your falcuty registration office is not far from here.
Just go straight beside your right hand side. you’ll see a bank on the left.
It’s about two blocks from here.
Then you will see a building painted yellow not far from it, that is your faulty registration office.
Thank you ma, I am indebted to you.
Then the lady took her leave and i headed to the school falcuty.
Not long after i saw the Faculty registration office.
The lecturer in charge had taken ages to come and when he did he was taking eternity to start.
Some hours later the man walked by us, opened his office
and before he entered he asked us to arranged ourselves accordingly.
Then.”He disappeared into the office.
No one entered the office after him and we stood in the queue for like an hour without movement.
Until he sent a guy to tell us to come in.
I guess he was putting things in order.
Then it reaches my turn and I walked in.
He is a tall and slim man in his mid forties.
As I entered his office the ceiling fan keeps the air moving in as I feel a bit relaxed after been scorched by the sun.
Within a very short time I was done and I proceeded to the department for my matriculation number and other matters.
I got my matriculation number and my hostel was allocated to me.
Then I proceed to the Level coordinator
As I entered his office, I greeted him.
Behind me is a bookshelf at the top a matching file cabinet.
On the table is a phone, a legal-sized lined yellow pad, a translucent Bic pen with a black top, and a big plastic cube with pictures of his wife, his children and a golden retriever.
“What can I do for you?” he asked briskly.
“I am a 100Level student coming for registration.
They said you are the Level Coordinator and that you are to sign my forms.”
“Yes. I am the Level Coordinator.
Have you done your screening?” “Yes, sir.
I was screened.
It was from there that they directed me to your office.”
“All right then.
Let’s me check if the forms are complete.”
I handed him the forms and he check them carefully.
They were complete he said, then he signed the appropriate columns on the forms and give it to me.
I walked out of his office and walked briskly to the hostel and concluded my accommodation registration.
Then I headed to my hostel, my hostel is the most famous girls hostel in the school.
As I entered my room I was amazed my room It’s pretty big, the floors were bare adobe and the walls painted blue.
On the wall was hung a portrait, It was the picture of a sheep, and it was drawn so well that I was filled with astonishment.
There were five girls in my room, myself from the West specifically from Ibadan, Zainab from the North, Ngozi from Awka in Anambra State, Titilayo from Ekiti state in southwestern Nigeria and Ada from Benue State.
We are all 100 level student except for Ngozi who is in 400 Level and Zainab in 200 level.
Ada was my course mate
She was the portrayal of figure-eight.
She was dark, bursty, not short or tall.
She just had that eight-like shape, the way many men would want it.
On my first day in the hostel we all get to know each other as we all introduce ourselves.
Then it reaches my turn.
My name is Shebotimo Deborah.
Am also an 100 level student of the department of Nursing.
I guessed your parents must be rich, because is not easy gaining admission here Titilayo teased her.
So none of you know my Dad, haven’t you heard about the name Mr Shebotimo.
No, they all chorused.
He is the CEO of Clinton’s group of companies.
He owns a lot of companies and factories.
He is the owner of Shebotimo oil and gas, and he also owns a brewery in Lagos State.

Wow, your dad is a very rich man, nice meeting you. Said Zainab
But how come non of us haven’t heard about your dad’s name before asked Ada.
Ohhhh, my dad, I said it like three times.
You mean my dad I said.
Yes they all chorused.
Maybe it was because he wasn’t based in Nigeria, it was someone that is managing his business for him, he only visit Nigeria only when he has an urgent meeting or he wanted to visit us.
Oh okay.
Then where does he based in abroad asked Zainab?
He is based in England.

Yes of course, like three times.
So, where have you been to in England asked Ada.
Hmmmm, I take a deep breath as I think for where to tell them, then I came to a conclusion.

Edinburgh, but I thought Edinburgh is in Scotland Amaka said.
Ohhhhhh sorry, I mean London I said.
Then why don’t you study abroad or study in any of the private universities in Nigeria said Ada.

He also disagree with me of attending private universities.
