Chapter Twenty One
“Aren’t you going to say anything?” Richard asked starring at her.
“What do you want to hear?”Hillary asked as she stared at the man who just told her that she was his.
“That you will stay here with me. That we will try to work things out and most importantly. I hope to hear you telling me that you feel the same way I do ” He replied.
“That will be hard cause I want the complete opposite of what you said”Hillary returned and he sighed out his frustration.
“What? Are you getting tired with me already. Well you should. Cause I won’t succvmb to what you want”She said as she moved away from him heading to the beach house.
She walked in only to be hit by memories. Though the beach house have been renovated. It was still the same beach house. The same place she got to know of Richard real intention. The same place her illusion of love got shattered.
She stood by the door way starring at the house when he came to join her.
“I thought that if we are to start again. We should forget the old memory and create a new one”he said as he stood behind her.
“A new memory?”Hillary asked as she turned to stare at him.
“How can I create a new one when I got to know the real you right here. You shattered the illusion I had on love right here. Do you even know that I was almost R@PED by the guards you put here to guard me. If I hadn’t escaped that day. I…… I would have been R@PED. You didn’t know right?” She asked.
It was a surprise to him to know that she had been almost R@PED by the guards he had told to watch over her.
“Hillary I……”he moved towards her wanting to touch her but she moved away.
“If you had wanted to get me back. You should have tried to know why I….why I h@tëd you. You should have tried to know what almost happen to me here five years ago. You should have…..should have showed that you really care by trying to look for me. You should have tried to know the truth, but you never did and if I hadn’t gotten pregnant with your child. I will still be a whore to you”She said as the tears kept pouring.
She moved past him when he didn’t give her a response. When he tried to follow her. She stopped to glare at him.
“I would like to be alone and don’t worry. I will be at the beach. I won’t run away and I won’t endanger your child life too”She said as she walked off.
Richard stood in the kitchen. Preparing their dinner when he recalled what she said to him.
While trying to keep her away from his father. He had endanger her safety. She has almost been R@PED by the useless guard he had hired then.
He would have made them pay but a call to the agency where they were hired five years ago proved to be futile. The two idiots had quit three years ago.
He knew it’s a bit late to get revenge but he had to do something to avenge Hillary. He thought as he finished setting the table.
Taking his coat he went to the beach to look for her. He found her sitting on the sand, gazing at the sea, having a sad expression on her face.
He found himself wondering if he had done the right thing by bringing her here forcefully.
He moved towards her and drape the coat over her. “You should come in now. Its getting cold”he said.
“Can’t I stay here longer. Its more peaceful here and I don’t want to get into another argument. Am just too tired to fight you right now”She said still starring at the sea.
“Are you feeling sick?”He asked worriedly. Putting his hand on her head.
“You have a fever “He said.
“I will be fine. All I need is a good rest”she stated as she got up only to stagger into his arms.
Immediately, he carried her In his arms taking her to the house and heading upstairs where he gently layed her on the bed.
“Don’t make a fuss. I will be fine. I just need to……”
“Shut up! Your sick and I will take care of you whether you like it or not”Richard replied as he covered her with the thick cover
Heading downstairs he got a towel and cold water and also some cold medicine.
He gave it to her and damping the towel with the cold water. He used it to wipe her body.
He was using it to clean her hot neck when she held his hand starring at him weakly.
“What are you doing?”She asked
“Trying to bring your fever down”He replied as he pushed her hand away wanting to open the top two button of her blouse when she held his hand again.
“Don’t”She said weakly.
“You are burning hot. Let me cool you down by using this “He said and she allowed him to do it.
It was a while later and though Richard had made a call to his doctor asking for advise he still couldn’t bring himself not to worry.
It was late and her fever wasn’t coming down. He decided to warm her more with his body.
He got into bed with her and pulled her close to him. Enveloping her in his warmth.
She roused from her sleep and stared at him.
“What are you doing?”She asked.
“Keeping you warm. Go back to sleep”He replied and a while later they were both asleep.
The sun drifting in through the window woke Hillary up. She blinked rapidly and tried to stretch but was unable to. The arms around her prevented that.
She opened her eyes fully to see Richard sleeping soundly. In other circvmstance, she would have gotten out of his arms immediately but she stayed still. Savouring the moment in his arms and also enjoying watching him sleep.
She tried to come back to reality. Tried to bring back the feeling of hatred in her but it never resurfaced. Instead the feeling of her being excited around Richard won.
She gently smooth back the hair which had fallen to his face and smoothed the hair on his brow. Caressing his cheek, his eyes and lips. She was mostly drawn to his lips. She found herself moving towards it, wanting to kiss it but stopped herself.
She sat up hitting her head with her hand and cursing herself silently. Falling for him will only bring more heart ache. She thought as tried to collect herself.
Its just the side effect of the fever. She had to get away before he wakes up, she thought as she pulled the sheet away. Wanting to get off the bed but was pulled back by him.
She layed back on the bed starring at his closed eyelids.
“Why did you stop?”he asked with eyes still closed.
“What do you mean?”she denied hoping he hadnt been aware of her doing.
“I was hoping you would kiss me”He replied as he opened his eyes to stare at her.
“I…. I ….I wasn’t going to kiss you. You’ve got it wrong” She returned hotly.
“Really? Did I think wrong then?”He asked and she nodded.
“I despise you. I certainly wouldn’t want to kiss someone I despised”She lied through her teeth.
“Should I prove you wrong?”He asked.
“Prove me wrong?”
“Yes. Prove you wrong”he muttered and without waiting for her response. He kissed her.
Hillary tried to free herself but he was very strong and also a very good kisser. A mind was telling her to push him away and another wanted her to succvmb. The latter won and she found herself melting in his arms. Deepening the kiss and wanting more.
He pulled away from her suddenly.”We can’t continue”He said softly.
“Why?”she asked.
“I won’t be able to stop myself. I didn’t bring you here to seduce you to my bed. I wanted to take things slow and…..” He stopped when she kissed him.
“Don’t stop. Don’t take it slow. Just do it”She suggested with a grin on her face.
“Are you sure about this Hillary?”He asked and she nodded, kissing him again.
“Does it prove it to you?”She asked and the answer he gave her was to kiss her back.
Getting rid of their clothes. He made passionate love to her. Hillary was far from thinking about her hatred towards him. All she thought of at this moment was being his woman.
