“This is it?”Sam asked as she looked at Lannon curiously pointing to the screen in front of them that showed an abandoned warehouse.
“This is the f****** placd Lila is in?” She screamed in anger and Lannon for the umpteenth time.
She couldn’t just believe her eyes. Throughout the night, after they had found out about Dave still being alive, they went into action immediately and began searching for him or anything related to him.
The result, turned out to be the picture of the warehouse, displayed on the screen in front of them. Sam was so furious, she couldnt even scream properly. The warehouse after all, was in Florida. How come had it been so hidden they couldn’t evenget a hint before?
She stood up abruptly and looked at Lannon “let’s go”she said”her, we know where Lila is, we move immediately”
“It’s a process Sam”Lannon sighed “We don’t just go unless you want to get killed. That will be a complete suicide mission” he stated.
“Then what do we do?”
Lannon called in some gaurds and sent them to survey the area and everything concerning it, without getting caught. Then he turned back to Sam “Tonight we go and….”he suddenly stopped “You will not be going with me.” he finally stated.
“What? Why”came Sam’s scream.
“You stay alive for Lila” Lannon nodded before slowly standing up and leaving the Sam, for she had no reason to protest against his orders. So, she just sat still sulking and hoping that Lila was doing fine.

It was afternoon already and Lila hadn’t had a chance to free herself or even check if the keys would work on the chain. She was fidgeting terribly and she’d even peed on her body from nervousness. Worse was that scott was standing beside her all these hours.
After many minutes of thinking and she was almost given up, Rodger came in dressed neatly and his wounds had been treated. He gestured to Scott to follow him and Lila was beginning to think what was wrong but she didn’t have much time to think because as soon as Scott left with Rodge, she was now the only one in the room. She immediately began to try all the keys in the bundle on her chain and on the fifth try, the chain unlocked. She didmt havr much time to be excited but she jubilated in jer inner, then, quickly freed her hand from the chain. She proceeded in taking off the chain on a leg and stood up immediately but staggered back due to how weak she felt.
There was a glass window by the other side of the large space, that was the only source of opening, where sunlight penetrated. She want to it, looking through it to find an escape route when she looked down tgrough it, all she could see was the main road and cars moving to and fro. Her heart beat increased as there was no other way out apart from the window. She was scared that if she jumps through it, she might not survive but she still had to try. It was better to try than to stay and die. So, she ran across the space and grab a chair, quickly using the chair to hit the window aggressively and the sound of the shattering glass falling to the floor, attracted Scott and his other men.
Before they could run in and stop the ready fleeing girl she’d jumped down the window, expecting to land on the ground and be dead but she landed on something soft and when she opened her eyes she was on top of a truck filled with garbage. Even though it smelled awfully, she was more than happy. She look back at the window where she jumped off from and she saw Scott cussing at her. She made sure she sent him her middle finger, before she couldn’t sight them again.
She was so excited, she hid carefully in the truck, so people didn’t have to see her. When, the truck finally stopped, it stopped at an incinerator where it had to dispose the garbage in it. Lila used the opportunity to get down of the truck filled with garbage secretly and when she successfully got down, without no one noticing, she began to run even though she didn’t know where she was going. She was running in her once beautiful gala dress, barefooted.
As she cornered into a street she suddenly bumped into someone and she fell to the floor and pain, she was so weak to even stand up and continue her run until she heard a voice’
“Lila?” she looked up immediately, hoping she wasn’t hallucinating and she really heard her mother’s voice.
It was her mother after all and she looked somehow tattered and tired.
“Mum?”she called a tear sleeping down her cheek and maybe because she was too tired or she finally seen someone she felt safe around, she blacked out.

It was night and Lannon was prepared to go save Lila, so he left the sulking Sam before going out, followed by two of his trusted guards who had gone on the survey earlier.
They were quick to get to the warehouse and as the usual thing, they took turns before breaking into the place. They moved stealthily so they wouldn’t make noise but they were hearing distant voices of someone querying. Lannon motioned them with his hands and they all moves towards the direction where the voices came from.
Once they burst into the room where the voice came, they met with a man who was screaming angrilly and five people who stood apologetically, of which Lannon could recognise, Rodger and Lila’s father.
“Your hands on your head, everybody!” one of Lannon’s trusted guard said, as he pointed his gun at nearest person he could grab and threatening the rest.
The men who’d been caught off guard were quick to put their hands on their head including Lila’s father.
“I finally get to meet the man who captured my daughter’s heart” Dave snickered, looking directly at Lannon, as he still complied to the instruction given.
“You shut up Dave!” Lannon retorted. Today all these ends. Where is Lila!”he asked.
Dave laughed” I do not know! I was trying to be a perfect father she just……..argh!…..” he was cut off as Lannon aimed a shot at his leg and he winced in pain falling to the ground.
“I ask you one more time Dave, Where is Lila?”
“We can talk about this Lannon” Rodger finally chipped in. “Lila escaped a while ago, we know nothing about her as of now”he said truthfully.
“You idiot!”Dave cussed at Rodger for being extra foolish.
Unknown to all of them, the person who’d been grabbed, which was Scott had been strategizing on how to get away from Lannon’s guard grip. So, when he saw that there was a bit of commotion, he took the chance and slipped out of the guard’s grip pushing him and quickly picking up Dave from the floor.
“Don’t move!” Lannon’s other guard said after reviving from the commotion. Everyone was now, pointing a gun at the each other.
“You watch!”Scott stated and immediately fired a shot at the guard but he missed and soon, everyone began to shoot. That was his sole aim actually. So he could have sometime to save his boss.
Lannon was quick to notice that Dave was getting away so, he ran after them but he wasn’t quick to get them. They’d already succeeded in escaping.
The rest of the boys were now at the mercy of Lannon’s guards, including Rodger and they were all bundled up and taken away.
Back at Lannon’s mansion, Lannon took Rodger to his disguised plant house while he’d already killed the rest of the boys and disposing their bodies.
“Rodger, you better tell me where Lila is?” he said as he chained Rodger just as he did with everyone who had encountered him in that room.
“You know I’ve suffered much in less than two days. Just kill me!” Rodger blindly said as blood seeped out from most parts of his body since he had been tortured.
Lannon roared in anger and fired a shot at him before storming out of the place, anger steams evaporating from his head as he marched away back to the main mansion.
Lila was still missing, so as her mum and Dave was now on the run. Couldn’t things get any better. For so long in his life, he’d finally thought of himself as a failure. He couldn’t even protect the woman he’d now come to realise that he loved.
As he walked to the mansion, he was suddenly having an urge to turn and look behind him, he sensed something very familiar and so, he decided to turn. He met with two familiar figures, walking towards him frazilly. It was night so he couldn’t see properly but when the figures got more closer, they were females and his widened upon recognising the two figures.
“Lila?”he called in disbelief
