He took her to the disguised plant house and she exhaled deeply in preparation before entering.
Dave was chained, his hands apart. Though, he wasn’t bleeding nor injured but she still pitied him so much. She tried her best not to cry.
“Dad?”she said in a cool demeanour as she crouched to his level on the floor and touched his face.
Dave looked up at her, then at Lannon and he smirked.
“She’s the opposite of me. Weak and useless. You fell in love with the daughter of the person that killed your parents”he mocked and Lila’s heart beat seized for a minute. This wasn’t her father. He was a monster. After all, he was all the things they said about him.
“Dad!!!!”she screamed at him dejectedly.
“No Lila, you don’t have to cry.”he let out a mocking laughter”when I’m out of here. I will come for you and your mum. You’d both die together”he smirked.
“Monster!”she angrilly slapped him and Lannon quickly had to intervene unless she could lose herself.
He held her by his side as she whimpered. Then he asked,
“How did you survive Dave?”
“Pfft. I’d be brief you guys”came Dave’s nonchalancy. “Well I did fall off the rays of the hotel that day and I fell into the sea. I thought I was going to die cause I drowned and I was approximately down the cold sea for a day. But, I was later rescued and the first person I sought was Rodger. You know I killed your parents Lannon. You know”he chuckled very annoyingly.
Lannon was to pissed, he took out his gun and fired a shot at the unrepentant man’s arm. Lila closed her eyes and she felt a stinging pain in her heart. She turned to Lannon immediately”stop it please. Don’t shoot again”she cried.
He didn’t seem to hear what she said as he fired another shot at Dave’s leg and she heard Dave groan in pain. Tears trickled down her cheek uncontrollably and she ran out of the room. She couldn’t take the pain. But she was too anxious to know what happened again when she heard another shot. He heart palpitated and she was about entering back but instead, Lannon stepped out of the place.
“Did you kill him?”she asked and he shook his head.
She breathed a sigh of relief and looked at him.
“Please don’t kill him Lannon. We can figure something out”she cried.
“You risk your life to save him Lila?”he yelled, angry at her leniency.
“He is my father!”she bawled.
” He kidnapped you. He is willing to end both you and your mum’s life and you still want to save him?”
“Yes!”
“Lila!”he yelled angrilly.
“No, I can’t do this Lannon. I can’t”she shook her head stubbornly as she walked out on him but he followed behind her and stopped her.
“I want you to think this through Lila. Please. I do not want to hurt you”he said.
She looked at him and slowly removed her hand from his grip before nodding and then leaving him.
Once she got to the mansion, she met with Sam and her mum seated worriedly in the sitting room. She didn’t bother speaking, she walked away but her mum’s voice stopped her.
“You have to make a choice now Lila. There is no time”Ivory stated.
Lila snapped her head towards her him”you too?”she asked.
“What do you expect me to do with a man who wants me dead. Stop being lenient Lila. You know deep down Dave can never repent. ”
“I can’t just do it mum”she cried.
“That is the only way. So go back to Lannon and tell him you’ve thought things through. I do not want this to prolong any further. Just look, we are leaving in fear because he still alive. Sam has a house but she is here, I have a house, I am here. Let’s end this now please”
Lila cried uncontrollably. It was the only way they could live freely. Her dad has done so much evil. And so, she nodded her head crying.
“Will you?”
“Yes”she said.
She looked up and saw Lannon by the door. She blinked back her tears and straightened her shoulders as he walked to her.
“Are you sure?”he asked.
She nodded once again and let out a bitter smile”kill him”
“Lila…..”
“No. It’s fine Lannon I promise you”
He drew her closer to him and stared into her eyes with extreme relief and then he hugged her tightly.
“Thank you”he sighed.
She stood weakly not even reciprocating the hug. She was in no mood for that. He pulled away from the hug and then gently cooed”let me help you to rest”
“You probably don’t want me watching you”she stated and he nodded sincerely.
“Rest please”he said as he carried her in bridal style and took her to her room. He laid beside her on the bed. They hugged and cuddled and soon they both fell asleep.
