(The curse)

A MONTH LATER..
King Austin traced wet kisses down Tamara’s neck while whispering sweet nothings to her
Tamara placed both her hands on his chest,she wanted to push him off but not only was she too weak to push him off,she was also enjoying what he was doing to her
He traced his fingers on her thigh upwards and pulled down her pant,she lifted her waist up a bit to let her it slip out
Tamara’s mind screamed at her that wh@tëver she was doing was wrong and sinful but her body seemed to have a mind of its own,she felt hot with her hormones at their peak that she shut wh@tëver what coming to her head out
Tamara jerked up from her sleep when he was about to take off her dress and take away her innocence,she looked around and realised she was sleeping in their room
“It was just a dream” she sighed out
She heard the door open and quickly got up from the bed and ran to the kitchen
Sabrina walked in looking drained out,she looked at the dirty dishes on the table and frowned,when Tamara rushed into the kitchen she paused and swallowed hard
“Tamara! Why are these dishes still here!?” Sabrina lashed out
“Mother I—”
“I saw no fire outside meaning you haven’t started making dinner!” Sabrina walked up to her and she stepped back
“Mother I’m sorry,I laid on the bed because I wanted to rest my feet,they were sore and swollen and I fell asleep!” she whimpered
“Sore feet! Dizziness? You’re always tired as and come up with excuses whenever you’re supposed to lift a finger—” Tamara didn’t let her finish and ran outside to throw up
Sabrina stood there in confusion and followed her,Tamara held on to a tree and held her aching head
The old woman frowned and placed her hand on Tamara’s forehead
“You’re burning up! It’s throwing up on the other side and dizziness, swollen feet and getting tired constantly,it can’t be just…unless she’s…unless you’re—!” Sabrina stared at Tamara in shock
“Mother,what is it?” Tamara asked softly
“Lift up your dress” Sabrina stared at her
“Mother?” Tamara asked in confusion
“Lift up your dress young lady!” Sabrina said sternly and Tamara slowly gripped the hem of her dress and lifted it up
Sabrina came closer and examined her tummy thoroughly while poking it and Tamara furrowed her brows
“You’re expecting!” Sabrina gasped
“Expecting!?” Tamara asked loudly in shock
“Yes you’re expecting a ch…child?” Sabrina muttered to herself and held herself as her breath hitched
Sabrina turned and went back in the hut while muttering to herself
Tamara stared at her tummy in disbelief and scoffed
“I’m not expecting! Maybe mother just had a bad day and misinterpreted ,yes that’s it” she let go of her dress and adjusted it while ironing it with her hands

THE PALACE**
“My lord!”
“Yes! Aww! Ohh my lord!!”
Hailey Mõ@ned as the king th-ru_sted in and out of her honeypot while fondling and tempering with her mountains of Jericho
A knock suddenly interrupted their sweet love making and the King pulled out of her and laid next to her
Hailey huffed and snatched her robe and wore it,she marched to the door and opened it
“What!” she snapped at whoever was knocking
“Sister, I’m sorry to disturb but can I please have a word with the King?” Sierra spoke politely
“Infact my dear,you did disturb us and you’re not forgiven, secondly the king is busy and thirdly he has nothing to say to you nor does he want to see you” Hailey blurted out and folded her arms
“My lord!” Sierra walked passed Hailey and stormed into the room
Hailey grabbed her hand and dragged her back to the door
“What do you think you’re doing!?” Hailey barked “The king doesn’t want you anymore”
“Ohh you mean like he didn’t want you when you couldn’t give him an heir and he married me!?” Sierra fired back
“You—”
“Both of you stop!” the King shouted behind them
He was already dressed up and staring at them
Hailey was about to say something when a maid came in
“Forgive me for barging in” she said softly and bowed “My Queen” she looked at Hailey “Queen Ariel is here to see you” she bowed once again
Hailey glared at Sierra before going out with the maid
“What do you think you’re doing Sierra!” the king walked up to her
“My lord” she smiled “I missed you ” she tried to hug him but he stepped back and her face fell
“I was busy as you saw and…” he cleared his throat “I told you I need some space”
“Austin,when was the last time you touched me!? I said I’m sorry I lost another child again but please don’t treat me like this!” she pleaded as tears welled up in her eyes
“This is the fifth child we lost a week ago Sierra—”
“I promise to the gods my love!” she held his hands firmly “I’ll drink more herbs and eat more healthy! Please forgive me and give me another chance!”
“I can’t,give me some time” he muttered
“Just touch me,make me feel like a woman once more just let me give you an heir” she whispered and lowered the straps of her dress
“Sierra..”
“Kiss me” tears streamed down her face “Say I’m beautiful,just tell me you love me!” she screamed and hit his chest
“Sierra stop!” he shouted and pushed her on the bed and left the room
“Austin! Austin please!” Sierra got up and ran to the door but when she tried to open it she realised that the door was locked
“Austin! Please open up! Let me out please!!” she cried “Open the door! Please don’t leave me! Please I’m sorry! I’ll be the woman you want me to be I swear to the gods just don’t leave me and marry another please!!! Austin!!!!!!” she fell on her knees and sobbed out while hitting the door

IN THE OUTSKIRTS,AT THE FOREST
Sabrina stared at Tamara while tapping her stick on the floor from time to time impatiently
Tamara fondled with her fingers while battling with her thoughts
“Who is the father?” Sabrina muttered
“Mother I—”
“I’m going to ask you again,give me a straight answer young lady!” who is the father of that child?” Sabrina gave her a deadly glare that she flinched
“I’m not sure Mother I.. I..”
“What do you mean you’re not sure!!!?” Sabrina banged on the wooden table “Did you sleep with all the trees!!!?”
“Mother! That’s not—”
“Then who!!?”
“The king!” she bursted into hot tears “He came here a month ago looking for you and when he didn’t find you I…I invited him in and we talked and…and—”
“And he told you that he loves you?”
Tamara nodded and Sabrina chuckled
“That king doesn’t know love! He’s a despicable man! He lied to you!” Sabrina spat out and Tamara shook her head vigorously
“That’s not true! He told me he loves me! He made me feel like I’m pretty and the only woman he has eyes on,he told me he will always come back for me and he did!” she protested with glassy eyes
“When last did you see him?” Sabrina stared at her and she went mute “Just like I had predicted,my child… I’ll tell you a story” Sabrina muttered “I once had a beautiful girl,she was perfect in every way that I thanked the gods each day for such a great gift,the previous king who was King Austin’s brother took advantage of her innocence just like King Austin did with you,she was nàive and blindly in love,that young girl was your mother” Sabrina sighed
“My mother! B…But you…If she’s my mother and the king did that to her,am I…? Does that mean I’m royalty and King Austin is my—”
“No,she had you before King Ethan came into the picture and yes I’m not your mother but your grandmother,when she met him he fed her lies and convinced her to leave with him and she did..she ran away with him to the palace and left you behind with him” she sighed sadly “Months passed and when he was tired of her he sent her back home and after some weeks she realised she was expecting,we tried to reach out to him and visit the palace to tell the elders about it but they kicked us out and accused your mother with trapping him and feeding him portions since she was a healer and knew a lot about herbs,she couldn’t cope with everything and ended up taking her life” she sniffled in tears “History is repeating itself”
“Mother, I’m sorry I didn’t know this was going to happen and—”
“It’s okay child,just like your mother…those two brothers deceived you” she held Tamara’s hands across the table “All I ever did was to protect you against life’s cruelty,I didn’t let you stay with your father because I was avoiding such things and wanted to protect you since I couldn’t protect your mother” she sighed “the gods showed me this but I couldn’t comprehend or see clearly who were they talking about..not knowing all along it was you,this child is a blessing in disguise,you must love and cherish my great grandchild” she smiled and Tamara nodded
“Can we keep it to ourselves?” Tamara asked in a whisper
“No,we are going to the palace,the king must know of this,it doesn’t matter if he doesn’t want to be part of the child’s life,let his conscious eat him up…get ready we’re leaving soon”
Tamara nodded and stood up

AT THE PALACE;3PM
“My good people,today I brought good news for all of you” King Austin announced to the villagers
They all came to the hall for the big announcement that the king had in store for them,the council was present too
“All hail the great King!” the villagers chorused
“My wife” he looked back at his first wife and held out his hand “Come up here”
Hailey grinned from ear to ear as she stood up and walked up to the king
He held her hand and flashed her a smile
“My wife and I,are expecting… I’m going to be a father!” he announced and the villagers hollowed in excitement and clapped their hands
He cleared his throat and was about to say something when the entrance doors burst open
“My lord!” a guard stormed in and bowed immediately “The banished woman is here with her daughter and they’re throwing a tantrum demanding to see you”
“What!” the king thundered
“Let them in!” Hailey shouted stunning everyone in the hall
“But my love—”
“Let them in William!” she repeated and he nodded and rushed out
The elders sat on the edges of their seats waiting for the commotion to unfold
“Do not touch my mother you goblin!” Tamara shouted as the guards pushed them into the hall
“You!” Sabrina thundered and was about to march towards the king but the guards stopped her “Out of my way!!” she barked at the guards but they paid deaf ears “You took advantage of my daughter! You and your brother are evil! Taking advantage of the innocent!!” she shouted at the king
“Hey you! Do not speak ill of my husband! You’re the evil one! You’re the witch here!!” Hailey defended and stood in front of the king protectively
“That husband of yours that you’re speaking of is a liar and a cheat!” Tamara chipped in “Him and I had an affair and he swore to make me his wife because he loves me!” she blurted out and gasps filled the hall
“Wh..What!?” Sierra stood up in shock and stared at the king
Everyone turned to him for answers and he stood there dumbfounded not knowing what to say to clear his image
“It’s not true right?” Hailey turned to him
“Austin she’s lying right?” Sierra whispered while staring at him with teary eyes
“Austin? Tell them the truth,tell them about all the things you promised,the picnics and our time together!” Tamara walked up to him
“My lord please say something” one of the councils said
“Austin look at me and say something! Tell them that you lied to me and deflowered me without my consent! Tell them all the promises you made to me!” Tamara shouted and tears welled up in her eyes
King Austin looked at his wives then Tamara
“She’s lying!” he said without blinking while boring his eyes into hers
Tamara’s heart stopped for a moment as she stared at him in disbelief and shock
“I did go to her home once,after my second wife and I lost our child to look for the old hag,I didn’t find her but this young lady was present,she tried to seduce and lure me into her home so she could trap me but I didn’t fall for her tricks, that’s when she swore to destroy me for rejecting her,I guess this is her way of doing that” he lied without batting an eye
“He’s lying! Austin be honest!” Tamara shouted but the villagers laid curses on her
“You know what she’s saying is true! She’s the one having an heir for you! This is your seed! You know what I’m saying is true! I told you! The gods showed me and they never lie!” Sabrina tried to get away from the guard’s but their grip on her was too tight
“Sorry to disappoint you but my wife is giving me an heir” he pulled Hailey who had a proud smirk on her face towards him and hugged her waist “What you said is true Sabrina,we indeed had lost hope and finally after years of waiting my wife is giving me an heir, she’s making me a father..if indeed that loose child of yours is expecting,it is not mine ..who knows maybe she slept with the woods!” he retorted and rolled his eyes
“I’m going to ruin your life!” Tamara ran towards them and grabbed him by the collar “I’m going to make you regret this!” she barked and he pushed her off and she fell back on her butt
“Get her out!” Hailey shouted and the other guards ran to take her
Sierra clenched her fists and bit her lip,she badly wanted to stop all of this because a part of her believed everything Tamara said but she knew she was helpless,one word then she’s out in the Forest with them with no home,family or husband
“You’re going to regret this Austin! I loved you with all of my heart you cheater! Let me go!” she wiggled herself from the guard’s hold and when she did she ran to the King
“Don’t you dare!” the King’s mother who has been quiet stood in front of the king obstructing Tamara from reaching him
“YOU!” Tamara pointed at the king with her shaky finger “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned! You will reap what you sow and you will burn in hell!” she spat with so much h@të that it moved the king a bit and he felt fear strike in him
“Take them away!” The King’s mother instructed and the guards dragged them away
“The great gods listen! They see everything and you are going to pay for every tear we shed! I curse you,I curse you that you become the animal that you’re ,I curse you all for turning a blind eye to what is being done here!” Sabrina shouted in a high voice that could wake the dead as she was being dragged away
“Stop!” King Austin shouted and everyone stopped what they were doing including the guards that were dragging the old woman and her daughter away
He slowly walked down the stairs and approached them,Tamara and her mother breathed heavily as they glared daggers at him
“You and your people will become the monsters that you’re! A day will come when the great gods will punish you for your cruelty and deceit, you’re going to burn inside and feel like your demons are eating you up,I Sabrina curse you all from this day onwards!!” Sabrina said sternly without blinking
The king grabbed Sabrina’s chin roughly and made her kneel down
“Hey! Let go of my mother!” Tamara shouted
The king landed a resounding slap on the old woman that her mouth bled
She turned to him and laughed “I h@të you with everything I have,I will h@të you until hell freezes over even in the next life time I will still curse—”
Another slap landed on her wrinkled cheek from the king and everyone gasped
She looked at him and grinned showing her bloody teeth
“Hell is empty and all the devils are here” she whispered “You’re one of them! A wolf in sheep’s clothing”
The king angrily slipped out a knife from the guard’s pocket and lifted it high in the air,Sabrina shut her eyes waiting for wh@tëver was about to happen
The villagers gasped more and held on to each other
“NOOOO!!!” Sierra shouted and was about to run to the scene when she tripped over and fell
Everyone turned to her and the knife fell from the king’s hand
“My love!” he shouted and ran to her
Sierra turned her head slowly to Tamara’s direction
“Run” she mouthed and closed her eyes slowly
Tamara looked at her with teary eyes and ran to Sabrina
“Mother let’s go!” she pulled Sabrina up
“She needs my help!” Sabrina protested
“There’s no time! Let’s make a run for it!” she held the old woman’s hand and they escaped from the scene
