< LATER THAT NIGHT ~ VALERIE’S HOME >
“You don’t mean it right” Chloe asked dressed up in a purple gown which accentuated her curves, making her more pretty.
“It’s been decided and besides you told Leo’s family that you want the engagement to be done soon” Valerie’s mom replied.
“That’s because I was feeling too happy. You guys shouldn’t have taken me seriously” Chloe complained even as they got into the car which the chauffeur had opened for them.
“We did, we took you seriously and have picked a date for the engagement party, so stop fussing about it” Valerie’s mom snapped at her.
All through their ride to the Bryan and Leo home, she kept thinking of ways to get out of the engagement.
Valerie might have wanted it but she’s not Valerie and she definitely won’t get married to a jerk like Leo.
As soon as they got to Bryan and Leo’s home, they were ushered to the dinner room where they were told to wait for their guest.
Chloe felt uneasy and the only way so she excused herself using the rest room as her shield.
Since it isn’t her first time around the house, she was on her way to the rest room when she heard some one talking in anger.
Wanting to know what was happening, she slowly trailed the voice and what she saw got her gasping inwardly.
Bryan stood in front of his father while his father kept slapping him on the cheek while Leo and his mom stood watching.
If it hadn’t been for Leo who intervened, his father would have kept slapping him.
“You’ve been useless to me since the day you were born! All I ever asked of you is that you stay away from trouble but you keep causing me trouble for me and everyone in this family!” Jeremy Torres yelled at Bryan.
“What exactly were you thinking when you went to an hotel with that lady?” Mary Torres demanded in return.
“I told you that I only went there to see her, why won’t you believe me!” Bryan yelled at his parents.
“Do you take us for fools? The lady you went to meet is surely your lover! Am not asking you to be celibate, you are a man and can do what you want but you should have done it more discretely. Do you know how much I had to pay those lousy reporters to keep their mouth shut?” Jeremy asked.
“How much did you pay them exactly?” Bryan asked taunting his father.
“Don’t make things worse, Bryan” Leo admonish still holding onto their angry father.
“You really need some beating” Jeremy Torres said as he tried to pull out of Leo’s hold.
“Then do! That’s the only thing you’ve ever given me! If dad doesn’t hit me then mom insults me. In your eyes I will always be the useless son while Leo be the good son. Where as you don’t know the last thing about him” Bryan added glaring at Leo.
“You d@mn kid, you won’t learn from your mistake” Jerome said moving towards him but Leo’s hold on him stop him from doing a thing to Bryan.
Bryan walked off, feeling hurt by the way his parents treat him.
He got to where Chloe stood watching the whole scene.
Chloe had a sad expression on her face and when she move towards him wanting to comfort him, he walked on leaving her starring after him.
Leo was still trying to calm his angry father along with his mother, no one was going after Bryan which got her following even though her injured foot prevented her from running.
She saw him going into a room and followed him in.
It wasn’t until she look around that she realized that it was his room.
“Why did you follow me? To gloat?” He asked not turning to stare at her.
“No” Chloe replied realising that he needed to be alone.
“Then why are you here? ” He asked still not looking her way.
“To give you this” she said putting her mp3 player on the bed where he was seated.
“I always listen to it when am feeling down or confuse, you might not hear what they say since it’s a foreign music but I can assure you that it’s soothing. Listen to it and cheer up” she said wanting to say more but since he didn’t reply, she left his room closing the door for him.
Bryan who was finding it hard to hold back his tears picked up the mp3 and began playing the music.

Chloe’s voice wafted out through the mp3 before a song of BLACK PINK ROSE (GONE) Began to play from it.
“How is this soothing?” Bryan muttered as he kept listening and a while later a soft smile splayed his lips even as he layed on the bed to keep on listening to Chloe’s source of happiness.

< SOME HOURS LATER ~VALERIE’S HOME>
“You shouldn’t have come with me” Chloe said to Leo as went into Valerie’s home.
“And get reprimanded by our parents. Never and besides I also came to see Stephanie, she must be in her room right?” Leo asked as he took the stairs up while Chloe shook her head silently following him up the stairs.
When she had told Valerie’s mom that she wanted to leave, what she didn’t think of is that they will ask Leo to take her.
She limped up stairs and was heading to her room when she saw Leo standing in front of Stephanie door with out going in.
“Aren’t you going in?” Chloe asked walking towards him only to stop when she heard the Mõ@ns coming from the room.
“It isn’t what I think right?” Leo asked Chloe who also wanted to believe the same.
Moving towards the door, she opened it and what she and Leo saw got both their eyes widening……
