“I lied to you, Tahlia” he began slowly.
“You see, Shaman Lola is my aunt and the spell was all a lie” he admitted shocking poor Tahlia.

“Y…your a…aunt?” Tahlia stuttered startled by his revelation.
“Yes. She’s my aunt, my father’s sister” he replied more slowly.
“But that can’t be? I went to her to get a spell and I even showed her your picture and she…she…”
“She led you on mainly for my sake and for yours ” he replied cutting her off.
“Why? Was it fun making a fool out of me? ” Tahlia asked feeling so hurt.
“It isn’t like that, Tahlia. Everything has an explanation if you will just let me explain ” he said moving towards her but she moved away from him.
“I don’t want you explaining anything to me neither do I want you to come close to me. I don’t even want to see you” she said hoarsely and before he could stop her, she ran out of his house.
All through the ride home, Tahlia couldn’t help but to think about everything.
The call at the restaurant, why she couldn’t contact Shaman Lola after she had been given the fake spell…. Everything had been a lie fabricated by Romeo and his aunt.
And to think she had been living in guilt, blaming herself for casting a spell on Romeo while the jerk had only been lying.
A fuming Tahlia walked down the streets dressed only in Romeo’s shirt and unbothered by the curious glance sent her way by passer by.
As soon as she got to the bed sit she once shared with her sister, she pressed in the code and went in.
“Tahlia? What a surprise” Stephanie said on seeing her sister.
“Can I stay here for the night?” Tahlia asked and before her sister could reply, she went into the bed room.
“What’s wrong?” A worried Stephanie asked as she joined Tahlia in the room.
“Judging by how expensive that shirt looks, I will definitely bet that it belongs to Romeo. Don’t tell me that you two have decided to dive into the you know what” Stephanie teased and once again Tahlia said nothing.
“I can imagine that Romeo would want to rush things after all he’s been after you for a month now and…” Stephanie stopped talking when Tahlia sat up on the bed.
“Did you just say Romeo have been after me for a month?” Tahlia asked surprisingly.
“Yes. Remember that day you came to see me at the hospital when I was sick? That was the first time he saw you and ever since than, he’s been pestering me to set you both up but I made it clear to him that you were in a relationship”
“I thought he would give up since you were taken but he told me that a beauty as rare as you can’t be given up easily. Such a romantist” Stephanie said dreamily missing the pale look on Tahlia face.
A month has gone by since Tahlia visited her sister at the hospital for being sick.
And so, it has definitely been a month since Romeo have been trying to get close to her and when she made the mistake of visiting his aunt for a spell…he ended up getting his way by pretending to be in love with her and also following her around.
But why? Why would he go to such length just to have her by his side when he doesn’t even love her….it isn’t worth finding out since she never wants to see him again.

Tahlia had just signed in and was headed for class when Dennis got to where she was.
“You and Romeo were both absent yesterday should I think that it’s what it is?” Dennis asked playfully and when Tahlia didn’t reply, he took hold of her hand halting her in process.
“You look sad. Did Romeo tell you about it, he should have keep it to himself for a while though he’s right by telling you the truth. Louis is a scvmbag after all and he deserves to rot in hell ” Dennis said confusing Tahlia.
“What did Louis do?”
“Hasn’t Romeo told you about it?” Dennis asked knowing he’s made a mess of things.
“He didnt and so I want you to explain. What did Louis do?”
“I think it’s best you hear it from Romeo….”
“Dennis” Tahlia called with a warning and immediately he spilled the whole thing.
“He isn’t worth you, Thalia. Have always thought that ever since I saw him and now that he’s out of the way, you can give Romeo a chance….where are you going?” Dennis yelled as she took to her heels heading back outside.

Tahlia stood at the lobby waiting for Louis to show up.
As soon as she got to his place of work, she had asked the receptionist to call for him and though it had taken him long, he did show up.
“Don’t you have something to say to me?” Thalia asked.
“Judging by the look on your face, it’s obvious that you must have found out the truth” Louis said.
“Is it true? Are you seeing someone else?”
“Am sorry Tahlia. I should have told you about it sooner but I…I didn’t have the guts to do….”
“Why, Why are you all doing this to me? Why do I have to find out things on my own huh? Did you really think me that irrelevant or did you think me to be a fool you can toy with?” Tahlia let out as the tears flowed down her cheek.
“Tahlia… I never thought of you that way. I just…I just didn’t have the guts to say it to you since i didn’t want to break your heart”
“When you decided to keep the truth from me, you’ve shattered my heart!” She said still crying.
Louis couldn’t think of any other way to console her and when he was about to pull her into his arms.
Romeo came in between them, pulling a crying Tahlia into his arms.
“I will take it from here” Romeo said and made to walk off with her but Thalia pulled away from him.
“I thought I told you that I don’t want to see you again” she said glaring at him.
“That would have gone well if you hadn’t decide to show up in my company” he said in return.
For the first time, Thalia noticed his attire to be one of a business men and not the jeans and Calvin Klein shirt he’s been wearing to the university.
She had also forgotten that Louis was working in Romeo’s company.
He tug at her again and Thalia pulled away wanting to leave when he took her by surprise by lifting her up by the waist unbothered by the look his other employees sent his way.
“Let go of me, Romeo!” Thalia yelled hitting him on the chest as he led her into the elevator.
It wasn’t until the door was shut and it was whisking them to the top floor that he set her down.
“We need to talk” he said as Thalia angrily push him on the chest.
“I have nothing to say to a deceitful jerk like you”
“I won’t deny that am the deceitful jerk you called me but you need to listen to my reasons”
“I don’t want to cause I know that you will just lie to me again”
“Thalia I….” The elevator door chose that moment to open up and immediatel, he took hold of her hand pulling her to his office.
“Make sure no one disturb us” Romeo said to his secretary as he walk past her into his office.
“I don’t want to hear what you have to say! I want to leave” Thalia yelled as soon as he shut the door.
“Even when you found out about Louis lies, you gave him a chance to explain, why won’t you give me the chance to do the same?”
“Cause I know you will only tell me more lies. Haven’t you made enough fool out of me? You and your aunt made me believe that I had cast a spell on you, did you know how guilty I felt when I realised that I had done something wrong to you? I felt so guilty that I told you the truth but you….you must have thought me a fool, a fool to be toyed with”
“God knows how much I h@të that. I h@të being made a fool of Romeo, you could have just come clean with me instead of making me feel guilty each day!” She yelled while using her hand to cover her face.
“Am sorry. I didn’t mean to lie to you, I never wanted to but if I had approached you honestly, you would have pushed me away and I didn’t want that, I couldn’t leave you alone knowing that you are my last hope” he said as he pulled her hand away from her face.
“I never wanted to make a fool out of you. You are very important to me”
“Important to be toyed with?” Tahlia asked slowly.
“Tahlia I…” He stopped talking when the door open to reveal his secretary.
“Am sorry boss, I know you told me not to disturb you but Mr Davies is here, have already taken him to the board….”
“Cancel it. This is more important” He said his gaze solely on Tahlia.
“But sir, you really have to see Mr Davies and….”
“Get out Suzy!” He yelled startling his poor secretary who quickly closed the door.
“I suggest you go to this Mr Davies”
“How can I? When you need me more” he replied starring at her tear streak face.
“I won’t leave until you return ” Tahlia said hoping he believe her lie.
“Are you sure?” He asked and she nodded.
As soon as he left the room, Thalia also left heading straight to the elevator and out of the building.

Cherry got to the private lounge often used by Romeo and his friends expecting Romeo to be there but she got disappointed when she saw Jerry alone in the room.
“Still looking for Romeo’s crumb?” Jerry taunt.
“I am and I prefer Romeo’s crumb than your darn love”
“Do you know why have always preferred Romeo over you? He’s a hard to get man, I so much love that about him. I prefer the cold hearted guys than the dumb ones” she said harshly.
“Then you would only to be living a life of pain since Romeo will never look at you”
“You are right. He might never look my way but am definitely sure that I can seduce him into my arms. You know that when I set my heart to it, I always get what I want” she stated and turn to leave only to turn back to him.
“And also, I found out that you have a girlfriend. What did she call herself again… Huh… Daniella! That’s the girl name and it’s a shame that you replaced me with someone so vulgar” She added before storming out of the room.
Jerry was still trying to grasp what she said when Daniella showed up.
“Why the hell are you going around addressing yourself as my girlfriend?” He yelled her way.

<< EVENING >>
After a long day at work, Tahlia got back to her hostel feeling tired.
There was no sign of Michelle which told her that she must still be at work.
She had just finish taking a shower when she heard the door bell.
“Didn’t she take her key?” Tahlia muttered as she went to open the door only to see Romeo there instead of Michelle.
She tried shutting the door on his face but he got in before she could stop him.
“Why are you here?”
“To make you listen and this time you won’t be running away” he stated firmly.
“What exactly do you want me to listen to, More of your lies?” She demanded fiercely.
“Not my lies but the truth. Thalia what am about to tell you is something only my family knows, not even my friends know about it ” he said looking very serious.
“Let’s hear it then” she said in a bluffing manner.
“Thalia I…”
“You what? Are you thinking of a lie to…”
“I don’t have enough time left , Thalia cause am going to die” he said startling her into silence.
