CHAPTER 39

I was beyond shocked when Arianna raised her hand to slap me not just once but twice.
“How dare you cheat on me with this shameless whore” she said.
That was it I couldn’t stand Arianna calling Avery a whore.
“Look here Arianna don’t call her that” I said and it was visible that my anger was showing.
I looked at Avery and I could see her hurt. I walked up to her and kissed her forehead.
“I’ll call you later okay”.
As much as I h@tëd things ending like this right now , I needed her out of here before Arianna did something stupid.
She nodded her head and turned to leave but it was like Arianna was not buying that.
She dragged Avery’s hair as she landed a slap on her.
A rage of anger washed over me.
I could hear Avery scream as she tried to get away from Arianna.
As she raised her hand to slap her again I grabbed Arianna pushing her aside making her lose her balance and she ended up falling.
I rushed to Avery to check if she was okay and she nodded her head.
“I’ll leave you two alone,” she said and turned around.
But I went after her and pulled her into a hug before whispering “I love you”.
But she just nodded before going.
I turned back to look at Arianna who was glaring at me h@tëfully.
I stood up and rushed to me attempting to slap me again but I held her hand.
“Let’s get things straight Arianna”.
I pushed her hand away as she stood there.
“I get you are angry for kissing another girl and it’s cheating so yes I deserve the slap”.
“But if you ever touch Avery that way or lay a single finger on her I swear I think I’ll go mad for the first time”.
“Mason how can you be talking to me like this, I’m your Fuçking girlfriend” she said angrily
“Not anymore, let’s break up”.
And then silence fell between us as I look at Arianna who was shocked on hearing what I said
“What!!”
“You had me, let’s break up”.
“Are you crazy mason? Our wedding is In two months and you’re breaking up with me. Have you forgotten the deal our parents made.”
“Don’t tell me it’s because of that street rat mason ” she yelled.
I swear I lost it when she called Avery a street rat. I’m done with this.
“Just shut up , shut up Arianna . I can’t believe I put up with you for two years”.
“We both know this relationship is one sided love. I don’t love you Arianna, I never did”.
“And yes it’s because of Avery, I don’t know when it started but I love her I Fuçking do. I’ve never felt like this even when I’m with you”.
“I’m tired of you being a spoilt brat and for once can you act mature” I screamed that last part.
“I don’t love you Arianna, I never will. The only reason I decided to date you was because of my parents. But now that I’ve found the love of my life, nothing is letting me go to her”.
I looked at Arianna as tears were flowing from her eyes.
“Mason please, don’t do this to me. I love you so much. We can work things out please don’t end it”.
“I don’t love you Arianna “.
“I don’t care if you do or not don’t leave me please Mason don’t do this to me “.
“I can give you my body right now,” she said, trying to remove her clothes.
“Arianna just stopped , let’s just end things “.
“You deserve someone better, not an @$$hOle like me. Yes I played with your feelings earlier but you can’t blame me. My parents forced me into this relationship and for the past two years all that’s left is emptiness “.
I looked at Arianna who was already crying her eyes out.
“You can’t break you mason you already signed the contract “.
“I’m sorry Arianna, but I can’t keep leaving my life like this”.
I turned away but she hugged me from the back as she sobbed painfully.
That’s when the rain decided to worsen the mood.
It started to rain heavily.
I was still recovering as I was already feeling cold.
I turned around and removed Arianna’s arms from my waist.
“I’m sorry Arianna” with that I gave her the last goodbye kiss on her lips.
“I’ll call your driver to pick you up”.
With that I walked away leaving her in the rain.
I picked up my phone as I called her driver to pick her up in the garden.
I entered the car was about to drive home when I remembered Avery is scared of the rain
I drove straight to her building.
I sneezed feeling the cold in my body but I didn’t care.
I quickly entered the elevator straight to the third floor.
Now I’m standing in front of her door.
I knocked gently on her door and I heard a scream behind the door.
I knocked harder and when the door opened I saw Avery looking frightened.
I looked around and I noticed her friend wasn’t here.
I quickly walked to her and hugged her.
She quickly hugged me tightly.
I closed the door and carried her as she wrapped her leg around my waist.
Burying her face in my neck.
I noticed she had changed into her pajamas.
I carried her to her bed as I carefully sat down strolling her back.
*It’s okay I’m here now “.
Slowly her body relaxed but then a thunder struck, making her more frightened.
I strolled her back gently and placed a kiss on her neck.
When she seemed relaxed she looked at me.
I stared at her and then at her tempting lips.
I slowly leaned in and kissed her.
We pulled away and I touched her cheek “does it hurt?”.
She nodded a little while still sitting on my lap.
“I broke up with Arianna” I said remembering how she cried begging me not to leave her.
I felt really awful for breaking her heart like that.
Then I hugged Avery burying my head in her neck.
I cried, it hurt me to break Arianna’s heart like that knowing she truly loved me.
“I broke her heart Avery, I should have told her sooner that I didn’t love her instead of making her fall deeper in love with me”.
“Shh, it’s not your fault, ” she said.
I tried so many times to fall in love with her but I didn’t.
After a while, the rain was pouring heavily and Avery was scared.
I stood up and removed my jacket leaving only my hoodie and trouser.
I removed my shoe and got on the bed with Avery.
She quickly hugged me and I hugged her back.
My mind still went to Arianna , how she must be feeling.
“Do you think I made the right decision?”.
“Just follow your heart” was all she said.
Minutes later she was asleep
I pulled her closer to me and listened to her heart beat and not quite long I fell into a deep slumber.
