“Brad ? Can we talk?” Samantha asked pushing her face a little out of the door.
Brad who was laying down on the bed, quickly sat down startled. He swallowed hard and nodded.
Samantha gave an awkward smile and walked towards him. She sat down on the bed close to him but Brad wasn’t comfortable. He shifted a little further from her.
Samantha sighed and looked at him.
“I’m not gonna ask you how you knew but I want you to keep it a secret from Newton” She said.Brad looked at her.
“Newton?” He asked. She nodded and looked at space.
“What about Blaze? Shouldn’t I keep it a secret from him too?”
“There’s no need for that”
“What? Why?”
“He knows already”
“Huh? Since when? How?”
“A long time ago. Malia told him about me since we’re in high school”
“Oh. I see”
“Yeah”
“No wonder I felt that way” Brad whispered. Samantha looked at him confused.
“How?” She asked
“I felt weird when I was with you… I couldn’t explain it..I always felt my heart beat for you then”
“What?” Samantha asked shocked.
“Yeah. To the extent of thinking I was gay”
“Huh? What the–??”
“But don’t worry. I’m trying to impress someone” He smiled facing the floor.
“Who?”
“It’s a SECRET”
“Hmm.. So, you had feelings for me then?”
“Yeah. Somehow? I guess”
“Wow”
“My heart changed now. I’m beginning to like someone…Hasn’t it happen to you before?” He asked
“Huh?”
“Hasn’t your feelings changed before. Your heart?. Maybe you liked “BOY A” then your heart started beating for “BOY B”. Later on, Your feelings for “BOY A” slowly begins to fade till its vanishes?”
“Huh? Ssh! It’s a SECRET too!” Samantha replied. They looked at each other and laughed.
“Okay! Softball, I’m gonna keep it a secret”
“Really?”
“Yeah”
“Thank you so much! I appreciate!”
“It’s fine. Not actually a biggie! So, Huh..What’s your name? Your real name?”
“Samantha…Samantha Brooklyn” She smiled
“Nice name. It’s nice to meet you Samantha”.
She laughed at his statement.
“Nice to meet you too Brad”She replied
“But Softball?”
“Huh?”
“You know I almost turned gay because of you?” He laughed. Samantha laughed too.
“Maybe?” She continued laughing.
“So… Don’t be surprised when Newton turns gay because of you”
“Huh?”
“Yeah. He isn’t a fan of that but I won’t be surprised if he does. You have a girl’s heart after all”
“Hmm.. Do you think it’s possible”
“I’m just guessing?”
Samantha laughed again.
“But Brad
?” She called
“Yes?” He answered
“How do you think Newton would feel if I reveal who I truly am?”
“Hmm.. To be sincere, Newton isn’t gonna be happy….You know he’s quite cold and harsh. So, I think he’s gonna feel bad and betrayed after trusting you”
“What? Oh Goodness”
“It’s better you keep it a secret till you stop working here because I think he’s gonna resent you” Brad replied sadly as Samantha sighed with sadness.
“Oh right. The pad!” Samantha yelped
“Oh..i almost forgot, Where’s it?”
“I left it in the bathroom”
“Oh. Leave it there.. I’m gonna get it later”Brad replied as they both smiled.
THE POLICE STATION**
“Firstly, We’re gonna check the civilian CCTV camera first” Carly suggested.
“Goodness! We’ve checked that already” Adam replied angrily
“I just wanna check something. What if you actually missed something?”
“Geez! You’re so annoying! Do you think we’re bad on our jobs or what, Hey.. Can you bring the flash drive in my cupboard Please?” Adam asked a cop who obeyed and returned with it.
Adam collected it and brought out his laptop. He fixed in it and operated the laptop by pressing few keys.
Carly bent closer to him and furrowed her eyebrows. She didn’t want to miss the slightest detail. Her father was also there.
Finally, He started the video. It clearly showed when Myles’s car hit her father and drove away. It stopped miles away and stopped. They kept watching.
Myles came down from the car and walked towards Mr Brooklyn who was laying on the floor. She bent down after reaching him, checked his heart beat and pulse, ran back to the car and it drove off.
“Did you see that?” Adam laughed
“Yeah. I did”
“Wow. Now you know I’m right! Ha Ha Ha!”
“Didn’t you notice what I noticed?” Carly chuckled.
“What?”
“It’s better you reverse the video in order to see it properly”
“I don’t understand,It’s her car!” Adam said
“Myles? Didn’t you see her? She didn’t come out from the driver’s seat and she also didn’t go back in the driver’s seat place either…That means someone used her car, Someone else drove that car and hit my Dad and we are gonna find out who! Who knows? It’s might be someone we know or close by?” Carly explained with a smart smile.
