Lauren was already expecting Ellie at the door. She was happy to see her again after she left Linde Plc.
As soon as Ellie walked in. Lauren rushed to hug her.
“Oh gosh, have missed you so much”
Lauren breathed a sigh of relief.
“Wow…
I can’t believe you could miss me that much”
Ellie replied.
“Yeah, come… Have a seat”
She said and they both sat down on the cushion.
“How work has been?”
Ellie looked at her baby bump.
“How is the baby also doing?”
“He is okay…

Lauren replied.

You are going to have a male child?”

“Yeah, I did a scan at the hospital yesterday… I still have my antenatal session today”

Ethan was surprised to see the huge amount of money Harry sent to him.
He jerked up and walked to the kitchen where Beth and Harry were cooking breakfast.
“Harry, where did you see the huge amount of money you sent me?”

Ethan seems confused.
“And why is it yours?
Harry, did you do something stupid and you don’t want to tell me?”
Ethan seems to suspect something.
“No, I didn’t…
Look, just accept the money”
Beth just watched them as she continued with her cooking.
“And why should I accept it when I don’t know where you got it from?”
“I can’t tell him, Lauren gave him the money…
Harry thought.
“He will never accept it”.
He sighs and drop the kitchen knife he was holding. He walked to him.
“Ethan, you’ve been a great friend of mine ever since childhood. I had no place to go or stay but you accommodated me here..
So me giving you this money is the least way I can show gratitude”
“Wow… That’s a little touching”
Beth said faking tears.

Harry said before facing Ethan again.
“So, please accept it.. use it as a replacement for the money you spent on Lauren’s date”
He added and patted his face.
Emotions fill his mood.

Ethan replied and hugged her. Beth also joined in the hug. Harry pushed her off a bit.

He said and they all laughed.

Ethan gestured for her to hug them but instead, she hugged Ethan.
Harry coughed. He knew Beth clearly did that cos he knew she would give her the chance to hug her crush.
“So, what are you cooking this morning?
Ethan asked.
Harry looked at him.
“It seems you are trying to distract yourself from thinking about Lauren”
“She is still on my mind… I can’t get my mind off from her”
Ethan replied.

“Can you two stop talking about Lauren Quinn…
Beth said and faced Ethan.

Ethan sighed as he got to the living room. He sat down on the sofa and put on the TV with the TV remote.
He kept changing the channels but found nothing interesting. He tossed back the remote on the table after putting off the TV. He brought out his phone as his mind went back to what Luke said about Linde Plc.
“Can he be lying or he is telling the truth?”
He thought.
“Lauren can’t just sign a docvment, releasing her most cherished company to the lunatic (Luke) ”
“I need to give her a call”
He said and quickly dialed her number. It rings but she is not picked.
He tried again but she was still not picking.
Ethan sighs.
“I guess she doesn’t want to speak with me”… I need to contact her somehow. He then thought about a text.

Ellie said.

Lauren groaned.
*Who is it?
Ellie asked and quickly grabbed her phone. She checked the caller.
It was Ethan. She wanted to accept the call herself but the call ended.
“Why didn’t you pick it?”
“I don’t feel like accepting the call”
Lauren replied.
Ellie sighs.
“What if he has something important to say?”
“Can we stop talking about Ethan?
And please give me back my phone”
“Wow… The same Ethan who saved Linde Plc helped your company, and also one of the best employees we had.
He also cared about you so much, wants what can make you happy but all you do is to push him away?”
Lauren felt guilty for a moment.

Ellie pretends she didn’t receive a text when she realized Ethan sent a text.
She began to think of what to do to reply to Ethan’s message as Lauren kept talking about why she didn’t want Ethan in his life.

Can I get the file from your phone? I didn’t get the chance to transfer it to my computer system before you went on leave.

Lauren said and stood up.
“I’m going to get you a drink”

Lauren walks to the kitchen. Ellie quickly opened up Ethan’s message.

Lauren couldn’t look at his face. She looked down a little. Ethan muttered a “thank you” at Ellie and walked to Lauren.
“Why ain’t you picking my calls?”
He asked.
“What are you doing here?”
She asked back with a question.
“Am not here because I want you back… I’m here because am concerned about Linde Plc. Your company”
So am here as one of your employees”
Ethan replied.
“What can be so important about Linde Plc that could bring you here?
What about Luke? If you have any issues at work, just give it to him.
He is the CEO now”

“Alright, I will be in the kitchen preparing something”
Ellie said trying to excuse herself from their conversation.
