“I think you will not be able to return as the CEO of Linde Plc, Lauren”
He drops the bombshell.
Ellie and Lauren looked at each other.

Ellie seems confused.
“Are you sure of what you just said?”
Lauren was kind of scared.
“Yeah…

Luke planned this all long,
Did you sign a docvment or something?”
“Yeah, I did…
The docvments were for Luke to take over for the seven months”
Lauren replied with a sad face.
“I think it’s a fake docvment… It was being used to get you to sign a permanent handing over of Linde Plc”
Ethan replied.
“Oh gosh…
We are in trouble”

Ellie asked.
*It was planned before now, so I think maybe they knew you were going to get pregnant, go on maternity leave, and then use that chance to grab Linde Plc”

Lauren and Ellie saw he was kind of right.
“What if they are responsible for my pregnancy? Maybe they knew something about it”

Ellie said.
Lauren’s face changed drastically. She kept wondering why did she make that type of mistake of handing over Linde Plc, just like that.

“I hope he brings Luke and Mr George down… Am fed up with their evil doings”

“What are we going to do now? We can’t just sit here and watch them take over Linde Plc”

“I think we have to be careful here and take things with caution. We can’t just rush into things immediately”
Ethan replied. Ellie faced him.
“Ethan, can’t you see we are Fuçked? Lauren just lost Linde Plc”
Ellie said.

Ethan was still thinking of what he could do to save Lauren’s company. He thought of using Luke’s secrets as leverage but they share secrets now or unless he also wants the world to know about his.
He kept thinking until he felt Jessica’s hands on him.
“Hey, are you okay?”
She asked.
“Yeah, I am…
I’m fine”
Ethan replied and rubbed her face
“Okay then…
It’s lunchtime already, are you coming?”
“No, I think am going to skip this one… I still have a lot of work to finish up on my computer system”
He replied.
You guys can go without me”
“Alright…
Jessica said and walked away. She takes one last look at Ethan suspecting his sad mood.
“He is definitely not okay”
Jessica said to Stephan who seemed like he didn’t even care.

Ethan decided to sacrifice his secrets to make Luke return the company to Lauren.
He sighed and stood up. He took his phone and walked out of the administration office.

Luke was smiling over the phone. He is in a conversation with Lucy. A knock came on the door and seconds later, Ethan walked in.
“Alright, let me call you back, one of my downline who have no respect just walked in here”
He said over the phone and ended the call.
“Ethan Baker…
He called and dropped his phone on the table.
“Ain’t you supposed to join your other friends for lunch?
He said and looked at the time of his wristwatch.
“I have a lot of work to attend to”
Ethan replied dragged an office chair near him and sat down.
“So, why are you here again? Are you here to quit? Or?
Ethan smile.
“Am not here to quit, I don’t give up”

Luke scoffs.
“What other deal do we have to make?
There is no deal here”
“Well, I think there is…
Luke folds his arms.
“And what’s that?”
“Why don’t you release Linde Plc to Lauren Quinn?”
Ethan said.
Luke burst into laughter.
“I can’t believe you could say that, I wonder what type of boldness and courage you have to tell me to step down from the CEO’s position and give back to Linde Plc”
“And that same boldness and courage is what brought here telling you to do what I say”
Ethan replied.
Luke still didn’t stop smiling. He can’t believe those words could come out of his mouth.
“You know, I think Lauren Quinn is the stupid one here… She can’t recognize a fake docvment as a real one”
And now her lover is trying to get back her company”
I heard Lauren Quinn denied the feelings between you two,
Is that true?”
Ethan just smiled.
“Can we leave that part out and focus back on why am here?”

I’m going to ask you a question?”
Why are you doing all this for Lauren Quinn? Why for her? Why not someone else?
And also, Lauren Quinn doesn’t seem to be interested in you, why fight for her?”
Ethan smile.
“I guess he doesn’t know I also want revenge on my parents and fiancee”
He thought.
“I love her so much that I wish she could have a share of all the good things in life that can make one happy.
She has been sad all her life and that’s because of you, your dad, and your sister.
“You ruined her life, her life was a mess because of you, and now am here to correct that.
Lauren deserves to be happy”
“Wow… I see you really love her so much but what you don’t know is, that not everyone can be happy and you can’t make everyone happy”
“Then, I guess you are wrong. Lauren has been happy ever since I came into her life, and am not going to leave her even though she keeps pushing me away now”.
He replied.
“Well, that’s your problem… Not mine
Can you leave my office now?”
“Then be ready to release back the Linde Plc or our secrets will be known…
I don’t care about mine, anymore”
Ethan replied and stood up. He adjusted his milky-coloured suit before walking out.
Luke just watched him as he walked away.

As soon as Ethan got outside. He heaved a sigh of relief.
“I guess that will do… And I pray he falls for that”

Jessica tries to convince Ethan who seems like he doesn’t want to go.
“Am really tired, Jessica…
You two can go ahead”
He replied.
“You missed lunch with us and now you are going to miss this?”
Jessica asked.
Stephan walked to Ethan.
“Hey, what’s really wrong with you today?
Were you beaten up before you came to work? Jessica has been a good friend and she is trying to wear off those sad looks you’ve been putting on since morning”
Ethan sighed and looked at Jessica. Jessica made a pleading face.
“For me?
“Alright, fine…
Just a drink, and am going home”
Ethan replied.
“Sure…
C’mon, let’s go”
She held Ethan’s hands and made him stand up.
“What bar are we heading to?”
Stephan asked.
“Dex lounge, it’s near down the street”
Jessica replied.
Suddenly, Ellie walked into the office.
“Can I join you guys?”
She said.
Ethan and the others looked at her. Ethan was surprised. Ellie hangs with friends on an outing.
“Yeah, sure…
You’re also welcome”
Jessica replied noticing the sad mood of Ellie also.
“What’s wrong with everyone today?”
She thought.

Dex Lounge and its surrounding environment were filled with loud music.
Jessica and the others walked in. They saw an empty table and walked to have their seat.
Ethan sat down and noticed a stripper dancing on the stage wearing a red mask.
Jessica noticed Ethan was staring at her. She coughs to bring everyone’s attention.
“So what drink are you guys having?”
She asked.
Ethan looked at the stripper again. He stared at her body.
“Why does this person seem familiar?”
Ethan muttered without looking at her face.
“I will have just a shot of tequila please”
He faced Jessica.

Ellie and Stephan were already tipsy. Ethan just couldn’t get his eyes off the stripper.
After she danced on the stage, she walked out through the backstage to the restroom.
Ethan quickly stood up and followed her.
~At the restroom~
The stripper already changed back to her usual random clothes.
Her mask also was already removed. Ethan stood at the door waiting for her to come out. As soon as she did Ethan grabbed her suddenly scaring her.
“What are you doing here?”
Ethan asked.
“Do I know you?
She asked back as released her hands from Ethan’s grip before walking away. Ethan follows behind her.
“We do know each other and you know me
Your face looks familiar”
Ethan replied.
“Just like you said, I look familiar… So am not the one you are looking for”
She said.
“I don’t think so…
I remembered you clearly now”
I guess you are in hiding right? Mr George must not find out you’re alive”.
Ethan said that and she stopped. She looked back and turned to Ethan.
Ethan just shrugged.
She moved closer to him and brought out a knife stretching it at his throat.
“Who are you?”
She asked with a little fear in her eyes.
