Ellie replied.
“Why did he do that to my best employee?
The recovery department?”
Lauren was taken by surprise.
Luke is beginning to pass his boundary”.
“Well, I wish all this will be over soon”
Ellie sigh.
She faced Lauren.
“Have you been in touch with Ethan lately?”
“No, am still angry with him”
She replied.
Ellie laughed.
“Just suck up your pride and go visit him”
“When I feel like… Can we talk about something
else?”
Lauren insisted.

Five police vehicles stopped in front of Luke’s
residence. The sirens were so loud that the
whole street could hear them but couldn’t figure
out what was going on.
Four cops came out of the vehicles fully armed
with weapons. They act like they are here to
capture a notorious thief. They barge into the
compound as some cops waited outside.

Luke scoffs as he is informed he is being
arrested shocking her sister also, Lucy.
“Are you sure of what you are saying?
Lucy asked one of the cops.
“It’s Mr. George’s son you are coming to arrest”
“Yeah… We are aware of that.
A cop said and signaled his colleague to put
him in handcuffs.
He walked to Luke and grabbed his two hands.
“You are under arrest and anything you say
from now till you are detained will be used
against you at the court of law”
Please, Mr. Luke, cooperate with us”
The cop said.
*And why is he arrested?”
Lucy asked.
“We don’t know about his offense yet”
“Then, why is he now being arrested?”
“The Mayor ordered it”
The cops replied.
Fear gripped Luke and Lucy. What would they
have done for the Mayor to get them arrested?

Ethan was shocked to hear Luke’s predicament
on the TV. Harry barges in.
“Ethan??
Do you hear the news? Luke has been arrested”
“Yeah, I just saw it on the news”
He replied. Harry said down beside him.

You and I know that you are behind this,
What did you do this time around?”
“Nothing?
Why are you suspecting me?”
“Cos I know you are the only one that wants

Luke and his family had created more enemies
than the money they had made in their life”

Luke was dragged into the cell like a prisoner.
He hit the cell-locked door angrily.
“What’s my offense?”
He asked angrily. Every cop just decided to
ignore him to continue with what they were
doing.
Lucy paced around trying to get to their father
through the phone.
“F*ck you all”
Luke shouted when he saw he was being
ignored.
A cop walked to Lucy.
“Hey, I think making a call to your dad won’t be
necessary”
He said.
Lucy seems offended.
“Why?”
“That’s because the news about Luke’s arrest
has spread all around England.
So, am very sure your dad is aware of the news”
He replied and walked away. Lucy stares at him.
“Just let him get here…
He is going to sue all of you”
Lucy boasted. Everyone laughed at her…
She felt embarrassed.

Ethan said as he scanned Jemmy’s face.
“Well, we did it for the benefit of each other, so

“You brought the idea of telling the mayor, you
deserve accolades for that”

“Like’s arrest is definitely going to affect Linde
Plc. So that’s an opportunity for Lauren Quinn to
take advantage of that”
Jemmy suggested.
“Yeah, you are right.. am going to inform her”
He replied and stood up.
“Can we meet tomorrow to discuss about the
next plan? The Mayor can only hold them for a
while”
Jemmy asked.

Am definitely not that busy tomorrow”
He replied and walked out of the lounge.
Jemmy watched him walk out.

Ellie walked into the recovery department. No
one had resumed back to work except Ethan.
Ethan just sat down to play some games on his
phone.
Ellie walked in gently and smiled.
“Morning, Ethan”
She said in a low voice.
Ethan looked up to see her.

What are you doing here?”
“To see you of course”
She replied.

Now that Luke has been arrested, Lauren can…
“… Make use of the opportunity and get back
Linde Plc”
Ellie completed his statement and Ethan smiled.
“I guess you have been a step ahead already. I
love that”
Ethan said.

So I already called in the two lawyers for a
meeting, Lauren’s lawyers will be here soon”
“Okay, we have to do this in a hurry, we don’t
have much time”
“I understand…
And Ethan, thank you so much for this, Lauren
and I know you are behind his arrest and I don’t
know how you did it but thank you so much for
saving Linde Plc”.

He replied.

cos she will be here today when the lawyers

Two lawyers were seated opposite each other
looking dangerously at each other eye.
Lauren sat next to her lawyer with her baby
bump visible, and Lucy sat next to Luke’s
lawyer.
Ellie sat at the back of Lauren watching the
whole scenario.
“So what Lauren Quinn is suggesting is that she
needs an active CEO?”
Luke’s lawyer asked.
“No, what we are suggesting is that Lauren
Quinn wants to replace her choice of candidate
for the position of the CEO”
Lauren’s lawyer said.
“Do you guys understand Lauren is still on
maternity leave?”
“Yes, and that’s the reason we are doing this…
She picked Luke at first right?
And now that Luke has been arrested, No one is
sitting on that seat to keep running the
company”
“Am assuring you, Luke’s arrest is just for the
meantime… He will be bailed out soon after
their father returns from a work in Asia”
“And when will that be? A week? Three weeks?

Lauren’s lawyer asked.
“I can take over instead since my brother was
running the company before he was arrested”

He said and brought out a file.

smile on his face. He holds a docvment in his
hands.

Lauren’s lawyer asked him. He just smiled and
handed him the file.
He checked through it and smiled at Ethan.
“Good job”
He muttered.
Lauren and every other person don’t seem to get
what’s going on.
