Ellie replied.
“He is supposed to be the one apologizing”

“Just suck up your pride and visit him, Lauren…

He however wanted to apologize and explain
everything but you pushed him away,

Lauren drove into her compound with a broken
heart. Tears were all over her cheeks as she had
been crying all through the driving journey from
Ethan’s place.
She walked in with a sad face. Ellie was having
a nice time watching a Netflix movie on the TV.
She heard the door open and looked back to see
the sad-looking Lauren.
“Hey, why are you back so early?
Is Ethan home?
She asked.
Lauren just kept quiet and walked to her. She
burst into tears on Ellie’s shoulder.
Ellie was confused about what was going on.
“Are you okay?”
She asked.
“Ethan is having an affair with another woman”
Lauren cried.
“I was too late, he is in love with someone else”
Ellie scoffs.
“That’s not possible, Ethan only loves you”
“I saw him with another woman, Ellie… He has

Ethan sighs and faces his sister.

“What has happened?”

He is just playing her, I guess. He wants

Something came across her mind after she

Ethan got to his office and was wondering why
he was being called to the CEO’s office.
“Is Lauren back to work in her condition?”
Doesn’t she have some weeks left before the

“Who is in the office?”

He breathes a sigh of relief.
“Sorry about that…
I thought Luke was the one here”
“Luke can’t be here…
He was arrested”
Ellie replied.

So what are you doing here? ”
Ellie smiles and puts her hands together,
placing it on the table.
“You are looking at the newest CEO of Linde
Plc”

An acting CEO for now, am only here to manage
Lauren’s duties till she puts to bed in a few
weeks”
Ellie quickly said.

That’s better…
Was Lauren home yesterday?”
“Yeah .. why do you ask?
Oh… Were you the one who came visiting
yesterday night?”
Ethan nodded.
“Well, am sorry about that, Lauren was kind of
in a sad mood because of you.
So she refuses to see anybody that night”
“Yeah… That’s the reason I came, to explain
matters”
Ethan replied.
“Why did you do that? Ethan…
I trusted you, I can even root for you. I can’t
believe you could move on so easily”
Ellie said.
“Can you just give me the chance to explain?”
“What’s there to explain again? You clearly left
Lauren for another lady and now Lauren is sad
and heartbroken. She cried yesterday because
of you.
You can see she is really in love with you”
“Yeah, I also love her and I can’t do anything
that could hurt her”.
Ethan said.
“Then why did you do that?”
“Because she is my sister… The woman Lauren
saw me with was my sister.
She came to visit me after some months ago we
lost touch. Lauren saw us hugging and got the
wrong idea”
Ethan explained clearing the situation.
Ellie was speechless for some seconds and
embarrassed also

Ellie asked after some seconds of silence.
“You had a sister?”

Mr George crossed his legs as he signed a
docvment and gave it to one of his secretaries.
Alex just watched him. He cleared his throat.

You got my attention”
He smiled and closed the pen he was holding
with its cover. He tosses at his secretary and
signals her to excuse them.
“So, how are you coping with Lauren Quinn?”
He asked.
“Am coping well, I think we should stop all this
we are doing”
Alex suggested.
Mr George was about to take his glass of drink
from the table when he was surprised by Alex’s
words.
“Are you okay?”
“Am fine, Mr George…
Lauren Quinn is a good woman and she doesn’t
deserve what we are planning against her”
“Alex? Are you falling in love already? Cos you
are speaking like one who is already soaked in
Lauren’s charm love”

She asked.
“I can see you are trying to cook dinner”
Ellie said seeing the cooking spoon in her
mouth. She walked to her and grabbed the
cooking spoon from her mouth.
“I will help with dinner and leave you guys to
talk”
She added and walked to the kitchen.
“Am here to see you and clear out things”
Ethan said walking towards her. He held her
hand and sat her down.
“I thought you would be busy with your new
woman now since I don’t give you the attention
you needed”
Lauren said shyly unable to look at his face.
“No… That’s not true.
The woman you saw with me was my sister”
Ethan replied.
Lauren looked at his face.
“Your sister? You had a sister?”
“Yes, Ellie also asked the same thing”
“You just have the wrong idea seeing us
together”
Ethan said.
“I’m sorry for running off like that, I couldn’t bear
the pain I felt seeing you with another lady”

someone”
He smiles and Lauren hits Ethan in the chest.
Ethan kissed her forehead and hugged her. Just
in the nick of time, Alex also walked in.
