Ethan kissed her forehead and hugged her. Just
in the nick of time, Alex also walked in.
He saw them hugging and cleared his throat.
Ethan disengaged from the hug and stood up.
Lauren put her strands of hair behind her left
ear and looked down shyly.
Ethan faces Alex and stretches his hand for a
handshake.
“You must be Alex…
Lauren’s fake husband”
Ethan said.
Alex received his handshake and put on a fake
smile.

But not a fake husband, Lauren and I are truly

He lied.

Ethan got interrupted by Ellie who was coming
out of the kitchen.
“Dinner is ready guys”
She said. Lauren breathed a sigh of relief and
smiled at Ellie for saving the awkward situation.

Lauren said and walked to the diner table.
Alex looked at Ethan giving him a disgusting

Ethan, Lauren, Alex, and Ellie sat down together
having dinner in silence. They all looked at each
other faces as they ate.

Alex asked the question breaking the silence.

She called after the knock woke her up from

He said and the door opened. Alex walked in
with a tray of toasted bread, a mug of tea, and
some scrambled eggs beside it.
“Have you brought me breakfast?”
Lauren asked with a joyful face.

You and the baby deserve an early breakfast”
“Well, this is the first time I’ve seen you taking
care of me”
Lauren said surprisingly.

He placed the tray of food beside her on the
bed.

Alex smiled and walked out. He closed the door
behind him.
Lauren stares at the tray of her meal.
“Why did he decide to prepare breakfast for me
this morning?
Isn’t that suspicious? ”
She thought.
She opened the plate of scrambled eggs.
“Can it be poisoned?” No, Alex can’t do that
Ellie came in with a mug of tea in her hands,
already dressed for work.

the phone as he spoke with Mr George.

picture. I don’t think the plan is going to work

walked into the lobby and saw two policemen
discussing with the security officer of Linde Plc.
“Why do you need to see him?
The security man asked.
“We just need him to come with us”
One of the cops replied.
Ethan walked to them wondering what was
wrong.
“Is everything okay? Officers
Ethan asked.

We are asking for Ethan Baker, we need him to
come with us”
“Well, here I am, standing right in front of you”
He replied and immediately they brought out a
handcuff and held Ethan’s hands.
“You are under arrest for the murder of Nina
Johnson.. anything you say now will be used
against you in the Court of law”

Ethan was surprised. Everyone watches them as
the handcuffs are in his hands.

two noblemen with him quickly stood up and
excused Mr George and his son.
