A knock came on the door.

Lauren said happily and adjusted her dress. Little Ethan rushed to his bedroom out of shyness.

He said as he rushed to his bedroom.

Lauren sighed and walked to the door. She opened it.

Mr Ethan said and smiled.

Where is Katherine?”
Lauren asked.
“Hiding behind me, I think she is too shy to see your son”
He replied.
Lauren chuckles.
“Ethan is acting the same… He is also shy.
He rushed inside his bedroom just now when he heard your knock”

She invited them inside…
Katherine who was hiding behind her dad showed up her face and walked inside.

You can call him out for lunch”

Lauren said and walked to the diner table.

She replied. Ellie came out of the kitchen with a tray of meals.
She dropped it on the table.
“Please, let’s have lunch”
Lauren said inviting him to the table. He walked to the dinner table and saw Ellie.

Ellie said.

They should be here by now, I asked Katherine to call him out for lunch”

Ellie said and got up.
She walked to his bedroom and knocked.

She sighed and walked in. She was surprised to see Katherine and Ethan playing video games.
Ethan looked at Ellie.

What are you doing in my bedroom?

Didn’t your mom call you out for lunch? You are keeping everyone waiting”

Screams and shouts filled the whole room. Harry just has a little bit of life in him. He has been beaten and tortured and all he can think about is his death.
Harry sat down still tied to the chair. Several spots of his body were bleeding with several injury marks. His face was covered in his blood.
He smiles even though he is feeling a lot of pain right now. Ethan’s murder had made him stronger to live and had made him endure all his pain.
One of Luke’s men held his neck.
“Are you ready to die?
He asked.
“I think you are the one ready to die”
Harry said and laughed. The man angrily punches him in the face.
Harry continued to laugh.
Lucy came into the room.
“Hi, Lucy…
I think it’s time you release me now, you know I can never hand over the video”
Harry said when he saw her.
“Yeah, that’s right… Am going to release you maybe after you are dead”
She said and brought out a gun.
Harry smile.
“So you will kill me now?
If you do, you will never get your hands on the clip”
“But the clip will be safe wherever you keep it and no one will have access to it and also, my clip won’t be posted online”

I didn’t know you think like a child, and you think am the only one that knows about this?
If my ally hears about my death, the video will be released cos he will be aware you and your bastard brother are responsible for my death”

Harry smile. He knew he couldn’t blow Jemmy’s cover.
“Go search his house and find everywhere for that device he kept the clip”
Lucy authorized her men.

The leader of the group said and walked out with the others.
Lucy pointed her gun towards Harry. She walked closer to him and placed the gun on his leg.
“Your carotid artery is around here”
She said and shot it. Harry screamed in pain. He began to bleed out heavily.
“You know what will happen, right?
If you are not treated within an hour, you are going to bleed out to death”
“I don’t care if I bleed out to death, I am never going to hand it over”
Harry said.
“It’s your choice”
Except you want to die”
She said and walked away.

Everyone sat down at the diner table including Katherine and Ethan.
They all just finished eating.
Ellie already packed the used plates back into the kitchen.
“Mom ..
Can Katherine go play in my room?”
Ethan asked.

You guys can excuse us and let us adult talk”
Katherine and Ethan smiled and rushed to the bedroom immediately.
Lauren faces Mr. Ethan.
“How are you coping with Katherine
Doesn’t she ask about her mom?”
“She is coping well but sometimes she cries she didn’t get to know her mom well before she died.
She is always jealous of other kids enjoying their mother’s love”
He said.
“I understand her pain…
No wonder, Ethan was also pissed off and angry. He got scared he could lose his dad when Alex left us”
“Alex isn’t his biological father, right?

Lauren nodded.
“Well, am glad I bear the same name as your past lover”
He added.

Lauren said sadly.
“Am sorry to interrupt again but he was killed”
Ellie said.
“Ellie, can you stop?
You can leave us now, we need some privacy”

Ellie smiles and walks away.
“Ellie was right. He was killed by some corrupt people who have the laws in their hands.
That’s the reason I agreed to have a date with you, I thought I would have the same feelings I had when I was with Ethan Baker with you”

He asked.

That’s what makes me like you more”
She replied.

Lauren smile… Ethan’s phone vibrates. He checked it and sighed Sadly.
“I have to go”
Ethan announced.

“I have a work appointment this evening with some professors, so I have to be there early”
He replied.
“I wish you could stay longer”
“Then, how about the next weekend?
Katherine and I will be happy to visit again”

That’s fine, I will be happy if you both come every weekend”
Lauren said and they both laughed.
“We will see about that, but now I have to go”
He replied.
Katherine and Ethan came into the living room.
“Katherine, we have to go now
C’mon”
Her dad said and a sad look appeared on her face.
“Why?
I still want to play more with Ethan”
“We are coming back next weekend,

She looks happy and walks to her dad.
Ellie held little Ethan.
“You can go and wait for me in the car, Katherine”
He said to her daughter.
Katherine waved them goodbye before going outside.
“Bye Katherine”
Ethan said with a smile.
“So, we will see you next weekend”
Lauren said and Mr Ethan gestured for a hug. He hugged Lauren and then Ellie.
“What about me? I need a hug too”
Ethan felt left out.
Lauren and Ellie were surprised. They both knew her son didn’t like Mr Ethan one bit.
Mr. Ethan gladly hugs him also.
“Be a good kid”
He said and walked out after bading them goodbye also.
Ellie and Lauren both turn their faces to little Ethan.
“I thought you didn’t like him”
Lauren said.
“I didn’t say I didn’t really really like him but he is cool”
He replied.
“Are you saying this because you get to see Katherine every time now?
“Mom, I see Katherine every time in school”
Little Ethan said ready to go back inside his bedroom. His back was against them.
“But he can’t replace my dad, I still want Dad back”
He added and rushed to his bedroom again.
Lauren sighed and looked at Ellie.
“So what can say about him also?”
Lauren asked.
“He is perfect, you are both single parents so that makes you two a perfect match”
Ellie replied.
