Lauren looked at him.

“And why? Looking for his father doesn’t deprive him of that”
“Yeah, but digging up his father’s side might dig out some sad past I don’t want to re-experience”
She replied.
“Are you afraid of that?

Mr Ethan asked. Lauren sighed and looked at him.

“I think we will be on our way now”

He smiles and caresses her cheeks. He looked into her eyes. Something was bothering his mind and he couldn’t say it out.

“I think you guys should head home now… It’s getting late”
He said and stood up, kissing Lauren on the forehead.
Lauren sighed and stood up also.
Katherine and little Ethan were still on the ground playing with the toys.
“C’mon kid… It’s time to head home”
Lauren said.
There was an unhappy look on both of their faces.
“Can I stay over? Mom”
Ethan asked.
“Please, can he stay over?
Katherine asked her dad also.
“No, they have to go…
You know you guys have to go to school tomorrow and you two will see each other tomorrow at school”
Mr Ethan said.

So stand up and let’s go”
Lauren also said.
Ethan groaned and stood up.

Jemmy sat down and placed her plate of sandwiches and bottle of soda drink on the table as usual.
She put a call to Harry.
📞”Am already at the cafeteria, where are you?
She asked over the phone.
📞”Am close now… Give me ten minutes”

She replied and ended the call. She placed her phone on the table and rolled up her shirt sleeve to pounce on the sandwich.
She took a satisfying bite and looked up to see someone sitting in the chair next to her.
She was surprised to see doctor James. She almost choked on her sandwich. She quickly opened her soda drink and gulped down the content in her mouth.
“Is something wrong?
Why are you here?
She asked.
“I came to see you”
Doctor James replied.
“Wow… that’s new
Am surprised, you are the last person I expect to see”
Jemmy said.
Doctor James sighs.
“So, the reason am here is because of what you are looking for”
Jemmy thought for a while.
“Oh, about that?
Don’t worry doctor James, I already learned the truth”
Alex isn’t the biological father of Lauren’s son”

He replied and looked around if anyone could be listening to their conversation.

You two both work together to stop Mr George”

Doctor James asked.

She replied.
“Alright, I guess I should trust this secret with you, not even Lauren Quinn or Ethan Baker himself knew about it before he died”.

“Back when Ethan Baker was alive, he did a blood test at the hospital and I decided to keep some of his blood for future use in case he came back again for that same blood test. Ethan Baker was suffering from anemia, there was a shortage of red blood cells in his body”
“What, why didn’t he tell anyone about it?

“Yeah, it’s secret and the reason he doesn’t want anyone to know is only known to him”

“Alright, I gave him some drugs he could use to manage it for the time being, and regularly, he came for a check-up. That was when I decided to keep some of his blood.
After Lauren gave birth and after Ethan died.
Mr George came to me to prepare a fake DNA test that could show Alex was the father of Lauren’s baby and then something came into my mind. ”
“You tested Ethan’s blood for the DNA”
Jemmy said.
“Yeah, I guess you think fast”
I decided to test Ethan’s blood for the DNA and just like I suspected, the probability of Ethan being the father of Lauren’s son was 99%”

He said and brought out a flash drive. He looked around first to ensure no one was looking. He slides it over to Jemmy.
“Make sure you hear the recording when you get home okay?”

“Yeah, I will head out now and I suggest you leave here immediately”
He replied.
Jemmy looked at the sandwich she was eating and lost her appetite.
She sighs.
I can’t believe the whole solution lies with a Doctor. A family doctor”

“I guess that’s why you wanted to see me badly.
I just think it’s high time, I let someone know about this.
Who knows what might happen? Mr George might come after me and decide to take my life”

“So, I will head out now”

He said and stood up, before walking away.

She looked at her sandwich and back at the flash drive she kept well in her palm.
“I guess this is more important”
She got up also and walked out.

Lauren came inside forty minutes later with a small bag filled with Ethan’s night dress and wh@tëver he was going to need.
“Be good, okay?
She hugged him.
Ethan nodded.
“Am coming to pick you up tomorrow morning”

He replied.
Mr Ethan just watched them.
Lauren hugged Katherine also.
“You two should take care of yourself”
She said and walked to Mr Ethan. Mr Ethan hugged her and kissed them behind her ears.
“I wish you could tell me what’s bothering you but I will wait”
“Am glad you respect that”
He replied.
“Okay then, I can’t wait for that best day of my life to happen”
She said and walked to the door.
“Bye mom
Little Ethan waved.
“Bye guys”
She said and walked out.
“Alright… Now that your mom who doesn’t want us to have fun is gone, let’s watch some movies”
Mr Ethan said and took the TV remote.
“Yes!!
Ethan and Katherine said happily.
“I want to watch Teen Titans”
Katherine said.
“No, am not watching that, I want to watch PJ masks”
Ethan also said.
“Alright, enough of what you both want.
You will get to watch both, so don’t fight over it”

Jemmy walked out of the cafeteria and walked to the side of the road to call down a taxi.
It was already getting dark but there was no sign of a single taxi.
“Harry should be here by now…
He said he would be here in ten minutes and it’s over half an hour now”
She sighed and tried his line again. Still not going through. She looked at how the road was filled with vehicles and motorbikes with no sign of a single taxi vehicle. She decided to take the public train two minutes away from the cafeteria.
She walked down the road and noticed someone following her.
“Gosh, not again”
She muttered and brought out her pepper spray slowly from her handbag.
She reached the train park and turned back to use her weapon but was grabbed by the hand.
Someone in a black cap and a black nose mask held her hand.
“Where is the flash drive?”
He asked with a scary voice.
Jemmy knew she was doomed.
“Doctor James was right, someone has been watching us”
She thought.
