She faltered her steps and was about to fall hard on the floor,, when she felt strong arms around her waist.

He caught her!

“You??” She mumbled as she stared deep into his eyes,, before passing out in his arms.

Floyd stood up and wanted to go to them,, but Berry grabbed his hands,, stopping him. He groaned frustratingly and sat back down.

“Please don’t cause a fuss. We’re at a funeral… respect the déad” She muttered and Floyd nodded.

Emerald just stared at Lyric’s unconscious frame wide eyed,, he was literally panicking. He hurriedly carried her in a bridal style and left the cemetery,, heading towards his car.

When he finally got to were his car was parked,, he saw his chauffeur resting his back on the vehicle. He has probably been waiting for him.

“Sir” The man bowed respectfully when he saw him.

“Please take us to the nearest hospital. Hurry..” Emerald said and the man nodded before opening the car door.

Emerald entered with Lyric still in his arms and the driver immediately took off. The drive took a few amount of time before they finally arrived at their destination.

⟨LATER••BERRY’S BEDROOM⟩

Raspberry walked out of the bathroom with a blue colored night gown as she dried her hair with a white towel.

She dropped the towel down and picked up her hair dryer,, switching it on afterwards. She began blow-drying her hair and suddenly sighed when the image of what happened earlier flashed in her mind.

“Will you just stop thinking about it?. He’s a playboy,, and just like a leopard can never change it’s spot,, he can’t change from being a jérk” She groaned frustratingly and walked out of the room.

It wasn’t up to two minutes that she left her bedroom that the doorbell chimed loudly,, scaring her. She opened the door and was surprised to see Ashton.

“Hey. Uhmm. If you’re here to see King,, he’s not back yet..” Raspberry said and stood frozen in shock as Ashton suddenly wrapped her in a tight embrace.

“I’m so so.. rry. I ju. st..” Ashton stuttered as he broke the hug.

Raspberry who was in a daze for a while blinked as she stared at him. He just rendered her speechless.

“Well,, i’m actually here to see you. Look,, Raspberry,, yeah. There’s something important i have to tell you. You might think i’m crazy,, but just know i did this for both our sakes” Ashton started and sat down on the couch.

“Stop beating around the bush and get to the point. Just say it already” Raspberry said,, sitting down,, next to him.

Ashton glanced at her and saw eagerness written in those innocent and alluring eyes of hers. He feared that if he reveals her identity,, she might be broken forever.

But still,, she has every right to know the truth. He has waited twelve years for her,, and he can’t just let her go,, not AGAIN!

“Your real name is Ashley Lee. Born on the 25th of September,, 2002. At age ten you drowned at the beach. We thought you had d!ed,, but you’re here now. This test says it all…” Ashton said and gave her the test results. Raspberry just read through it with widened eyes.

“No. no.. This can’t be..” Berry stuttered unsteadily.

This is so absurd… very.. very absurd. How’s this even possible?? No… her grandmother didn’t lie to her about her past right??

She trusted her so much. She was the best thing that had ever happened to her.. how could she do this to her??

Raspberry didn’t realize when tears began to fall from her eyes,, she stood up and wanted to leave,, but felt something rush through her.

Everything… her past. Her MEMORIES before she drowned.. her MEMORIES before she had the accident. Everything began to come back to her..

“Ahhh…” As the room started to spin,, she felt a sudden wave of nausea and everything went black as she collapsed to the ground.

“Ashley…” Ashton screamed in fright.

North woke up with a dull pain underlying the numbness in her right arm,, and she was enveloped by the stench of a burning cigarette.

Even before she opened her eyes,, she knew she wasn’t at home. The air was heavy and damp,, pressing against her skin like a clammy shroud.

“Where am i?” She wondered and decided to open her eyes. Her vision was sleep-blurred and untrustworthy.

All she could see were moving shapes of light and dark,, of color and shadow. She came to with a thudding headache.

“Fúck. It hurts..”North bit out a curse and moved her hand to inspect the damage,, except that it didn’t move. Something was restraining her arms.

Her legs too,, were immobilized,, as she noticed when she tried to get up. She was lying prone on the ground.

“How long have i been out cold?” Her lips were parched and hunger growled in her stomach. She cracked open her eyes to better percieve how deep in shít she was,, but darkness continued to engulf her.

“It’s all a dream….all a dream. Only a nightmáre. I’ll wake up any second now. Just a dream. Not real,, not real. Not real!” North tried to drag her arms free and felt narrow straps dig into her flesh.

She cried out in pain and kept battering at the straps with her forearms.

A squeak came from the door,, someone was coming in or going out. She realized they were coming in,, cause she heard approaching footsteps.

“No! No, no, no, no! Why? What have i done? Let me free. Get me out of here!!” She tried to cry for help,, but her throat was raw from shouting and her lips were long-deprived of liquid.

The distinct sound of dangling chains reached her ears. It was coming closer,, closer and then past her.

“Who’s there?… Why do you have me locked up…. get me out of her. Let me go.. let me..” North croaked as loud as she could.

“Hey séxy,, it seems our prisoner is awake. Daaamn this is gonna be interesting” Someone said above her,, her voice br!m-mln with excitement. She needed no soothsayer to tell her who that was…. QUINCY 😾.

“Hmm. It does seem so” This voice was crisp and cool,, all warmth drained by lack of compassion. She wasn’t sure if the speaker could even be human.

“Well,, am ready to have some fun. Hand me the chains please” The implications of this request hadn’t the time to register in her mind,, before she was lashed on her back.

“Ahh” North cried out,, as tears wormed its way out of her eyes. Through the haze of agony,, she heard the two people laughing çrazily.

“Ugliest motherFüçker i’ve seen in a while. Can’t believe she tried to stéal your man. Well…. that’s going to end now” The inhumane voice answered Quincy,, with a scowl playing on his face.

North sniffed and tried to let herself free,, but it was futile. Three harsh lashes landed on her back,, and this time around,, the skin of her back peeled off and blóód began to rush out of it.

“It’s not enough. Just end her once and for all. I can’t stand seeing her face. She needs to d!e. She must d!e” Quincy smirked,, and another chain was tied tightly around North’s neck.

The person tightened their grip on it, chóking… strángling the living day out of her. North struggled.. and struggled as she felt life leaving her.

She felt her eyes closing… closing,, till she finally gave up. Her shoulders dropped,, her head fell to the chair,, and she now looks… DÉAD.

A satisfied Quincy smiled dev!lishly,, as she stared at North’s déad body. She brought out cash from her purse and threw it at her accomplice.

“That’s for a work well done. I hope we’ll see some other time,, for more businesses like this. It was nice working with you. Adios,, my future husband is waiting for me” She smirked and made to leave,, but suddenly halted on her tracks. The door opened and she almost bumped into the person walking into the room.

“So it was you. I kinda suspected it… but i still had little doubts. And now i see this??. How could you?? You monstér!!” Dwayne snapped and what followed were three heavy slaps.

Quincy fell to the floor,, holding her cheeks as blóód streamed down her nostrils.

Her accomplice tried to aim his gun at Dwayne,, but he was shot twice by two cops before he could even pull the trigger. Blóód escaped his chest and head,, and he dropped déad.

“North!! No!!” Dwayne ran to her already pale body. Her face was as white as snow,, her lips a darker shade of red and her chest wasn’t moving as it was supposed to.

He crouched and picked her up in a bridal style. He didn’t even know when a tear escaped his eyes and dropped on her lips.

“He.. lp me. Ple.. ase” North breathed out as she regained consciousness.

Dwayne’s’s heart leaped for joy and he quickly rushed to were the police vehicles and the ambulances were parked.

“She’s got a pulse. Hurry up… hurry up!!” One of the paramedics said and the others quickly brought out a stretcher. They placed her on it and pushed it into the ambulance.

“I’m here sweetie. Please fight.. you can’t just give up. You’re a warrior” Dwayne wrapped his hands around hers as the ambulance drove off.

“Miss Quincy. You’re under arrest for attempted murdér,, being the accomplice of a criminal and also for slander. You have the right to a lawyer,, and if you don’t have,, one will be provided for you. Now,, come with us” One of the cops stated and handcuffed her. She tried to fight back,, but it was futile.

“No!. I can’t go to jáil. Do you know who i am?. Am going to sue you… my dad’s gonna have you fired from you jobs. I swéar it… i swéar it” Quincy kept nagging as they put her at the backseat of the car.

The vehicle began to move and all she continued to do was.. nag.. and nag.

⟨TWO DAYS LATER••NORTH’S WARD⟩

North was just stepping out of from the bathroom. She just had her bathe and was planning to put on her coat. The room door suddenly flinged open,, revealing Dwayne who had a wide smile on his face.

She stopped,, to see that he was dashing towards er. She wondered for a moment that she was hallucinating,, but as he grew closer,, she knew he was real.

North quickly caught up to him and threw her hands around him,, hugging him tightly.

It was what she thought a hug from Dwayne would feel like,, that’s if she’d ever thought such was possible.

She felt so safe in his hands.

Dwayne closed his eyes. If only she’s aware of what she’s doing to him right now. Her hands on his chest,, not a good idea,, it’s so tempting.

“Thanks for rescuing me. I.. i love you..” North whispered into his ears and his pupils dilated instantly.

Dwayne looked into her piercing green eyes with a raised brow,, trying to maintain his stance. First of all,, he almost fell over from the impact.

Also,, his arms were pinned tightly to the sides,, and he felt like his ribs were about to snap. He was so dumbfounded,, that all he could mutter was `Ow`.

“I really thought i wasn’t gonna make it. I can’t believe Quincy went as far as doing that to me. I could have d!ed” North broke the hug and put her hand on his shoulder,, tightening her arms on him.

Dwayne brought his hands to her face and was about to touch it,, when he suddenly paused. He wouldn’t want her to get mád at him for touching her without permission.

“Why?” She asked,, still maintaining the eyes contact. She sensed that something was wrong.

“Huh??” He smiled and she rolled her eyes. She let go of him and walked to the bed,, sitting on it afterwards.

Dwayne rushed to her,, grabbed her hands and before she could understand what was going on,, her back was slammed against the wall.

A gasp escaped her lips.

“I’ve been trying to control myself the whole. What the fuçk are you doing to me… North West” His gaze shifted to her lips.

He was fighting with the urge to kiss it… to kiss her until she forgets her name.

“I just want you to know that you’ve been driving me fuçking crázy ever since i set my eyes on you. I knew you were secretly crushing on me” Dwayne added,, allowing his thumb to drag sweetly across North’s bottom lip.

North quivered at the heady and provocative wave that hit her.. everywhere. They’ve not done anything,, and yet,, she was fully turned on.

Dwayne stared at her,, the hint of a self-satisfied smirk playing across his full,, pink lips on realizing the crázy effect he had on her.

He leaned in so close,, really close that she could feel his breath fan her face.

“Stop teasing me and fuçkin kiss me already. Am going çrazy here..” North muttered and pulled him by the waist,, before claiming his lips.

Dwayne didn’t even waste anytime,, before taking the lead.

“Why do i feel this way?? I’m so Fuçkiñg hard for you,, North” He whispered against her lips,, one of his hands moving to cup her left bréast.

North tried to hold back a móan,, but failed,, as Dwayne trailed his fingers down her bréast,, pressing it softly through her clothes.

Dwayne’s leg hit the bed,, and they both fell on it,, with her on top… their lips still doing justice to each other.

“I love you too. Please be mine.. let’s date” Dwayne whispered into her ears as he broke the kiss. North nodded with a smile.

He switched their position and buried his mouth on her neck,, trailing wet kisses and leaving countless love bites.

“Dwa..y..ne. Let’s stop here.. before..” That was all North could stammer,, before the door was flung open. Both the doctor and Floyd walked in.

“Ooops. I think we came in at the wrong time” The doctor chuckled and North quickly pushed Dwayne off herself.

Dwayne adjusted his clothes and grabbed his coat,, trying to run out of there. He was so embarrassed.

“When did you guys start dating?? You never told me about it” Floyd suddenly asked,, and Norths cheeks flushed red.

“Just now. I just asked her out. She said YES.. Yaaay..” Dwayne was literally jumping for joy. Everyone,, including the doctor bursted into audible laughter as they watched him.

“Oooouch,, my head hurts” Lyric said,, holding her aching head.

“Oh my gaawd,, thank goodness you’re awake” Raspberry said rushing over to the hospital bed.

“Huh,, what happened to me?” Lyric asked while sitting up slowly.

“You passed out when the doctor informed you that you’re expecting. I still can’t believe it girlfriend,, i’m gonna be an Aunt..” Raspberry replied and Lyric’s eyes widened.

“That wasn’t a dream?? It really happened?? No.. no. He’ll pay for this,, he took advantage of me..” Lyric spat as she rushed to the door.

“What’re you talking about. Hey… you’ve not fully recovered. Come back here.. Heeey..” Berry screamed,, but Lyric left anyways.

In no time,, Lyric arrived at Emerald’s place. She rang the doorbell,, and it took up to a minute before he opened the door. As soon as they locked gazes,, Emerald’s eyes widened.

“You j**k. I remember everything now. I remember what happened that night. How could you do that to me?? Why did you do it?? Why!!!” Lyric wailed as she glared at him. She felt like castrat!ng him.

Emerald opened his mouth to speak,, but no words came out. For the first time in his life,, he felt gu!lty,, Soo gu!lty.

“Lyric i-”

“Where did you keep the towels,, Emerald” A voice asked behind Emerald. Lyric’s shoulder’s fell instantly as her eyes landed on the least person she ever expected to see.

Tessa was standing there,, putting on just Emerald’s shirt. They probably had séx.

“Yo.u.. y..ou..” Lyric’s phone slipped from her hands and landed roughly on the ground.

What followed next was the sound of the shattered screen. Her phone just broke,, AGAIN!!!
