Mason was busy with his laptop when his phone began ringing. He sighed and checked the caller, it was from his grandpa.
He picked the call.
“Mason, did you hear your sister has been admitted to the hospital, why aren’t you here yet?” The old man asked from the other end.
“I didn’t know that” Mason simply replied.
“Then you should get over here now and you should bring Skyler along” after instructing him, that old man hung up.
“Sunny” Mason called and Sunny came over.
“Tell Skyler that Ivy is in the hospital and we are going to see her now. I’m waiting for her in the car” he instructed before standing up and taking his suit jacket.
Sunny nodded and went to do as told.
Mason got to the car and in no time, Skyler arrived, she opened the door and entered.
“Sonny told me you asked me to meet you here, is it that urgent?” She asked with a worried look on her face.
“Grandpa called me, he said Ivy has been admitted to the hospital and we should come see her” he said dryly.
“It must be her stomach pain of yesterday, I didn’t know it was this serious, I hope she would be fine” she muttered before taking Mason’s hands on hers.

Edna was already closing all the files in her office when someone knocked the door.
“Come in” she replied and Miguel stepped in while holding some files.
“Zita asked me to drop it on your desk” he said as he walked over to drop it.
His plan was to ignore her and start minding his business from now on but seeing that dull look from her face,he knew this wasn’t her usual self.
‘Don’t get involved, don’t get involved’ Miguel told himself as he turned around to leave but he just couldn’t ignore.
‘Screw you Miguel’ he cursed himself before turning back to her.
“Hey are you okay? You don’t look so good today?” He asked softly.
Edna released a loud sigh before raising her head to face him.
“What kind of person do you think I am Miguel? Am I that bad? Is that why you left without saying a goodbye yesterday night?” She twitched her lips when she asked.
“Huh?” Miguel looked confused. “You’re actually bothered about me leaving without telling you, you invented me, you threw away my gift and you didn’t talk to me because you were busy trying to reach out to someone who doesn’t even want to stay close to you!” Miguel said hardly and Edna stared at him in silence for a while before she burst out in tears.
Miguel blinked in confused.
“It’s just.. I don’t know what else to do, I don’t know how to behave, maybe I was just born this way as the girl with the ugly personality. I tried my best to be perfect but I just need someone to understand that this is how I am and just like me for it” she covered her face with her palms and continued to cry.
Miguel moved closer to her and took her hands from her face.
“Look at me Edna” he said softly but Edna looked away.
“I can’t, I look really ugly when I cry” she replied.
“Edna,look at me for real, stop trying to look perfect all the time because no one is. Sometimes you just have to let loose and yourself” he said and she slowly looked at him.
Although she had mascara over her face, Miguel still thought she looked so cute.
“And who said you look ugly when you cry? You see Edna, I understand you, you grew up rich and your life is full of competition, oh I wanna be better, I wanna be prettier, I want people to like me more. You let society build you up and tell you what to do and not do, who to date, what to eat, how to keep your body and how to live. Trust me Edna, you hold your own life, things you weren’t able to do now, you’d regret because you wouldn’t be able to do it again, yesterday can never repeat itself so live today and enjoy it till the fullest” he advised her.
Edna only bit her lips.
“And by the way, you don’t suck in personality, I’ve been able to see the real you like right now and few other times and you’re really cute, sweet, adorable but you’re too focused on building what you think people want you to be” he added.
Edna threw herself on his arms and hugged him tightly.
“I don’t know why you keep being nice to me when all I do is to hurt and push you away. You know you really opened my eyes to things, it’s not about being rich, I use to think all poor people want was money but you’ve proved me wrong, your intentions are really pure” she sniffed.
“Well you should stop judging a book by its cover” he muttered.
“Yeah” she chuckled and pulled away.
“I actually have to go to the hospital to see my cousin Ivy and I should make it up to you, how about dinner with my family sometimes?” She asked him.
“What? Me? Have dinner with your family?” Miguel looked a little surprised and nervous.
“Yes, they don’t bite and I’m sure you’ve already seen Mason and his wife Skyler last night and I bet you don’t know Skyler is from a poor background but Mason and grandpa adores her so much” Edna rolled her eyes as she spoke.
“Okay” Miguel nodded.
“And I wouldn’t dress you up this time I promise so wear wh@tëver you want and what ever you’re comfortable with” she added.
“Wow, alright” Miguel chuckled.
Edna moved closer to his and peck his cheeks and his eyes widened in surprise. She pulled away and smiled at him before leaving.
Miguel slowly brought his hands to his cheeks and smiled.

DELGADOS’ PRIVATE HOSPITAL★
Everyone were waiting outside for the doctor to finish his test on Ivy and in no time the doctor came out and everyone stood straight especially Maya.
“How’s my grand daughter, what exactly is wrong with her?” Grandpa Mario was the first to ask.
Maya looked really eager to hear and she was getting really nervous when the doctor kept a bad look on his face.
“Can you just tell us already!! What’s wrong with my daughter!!” Maya yelled.
“From that test we ran through her system, it’s like she drank something bad that damaged her womb so the only way we can save her is by taking off her womb” the doctor replied and Maya stumbled and fell on the floor.
“You’re lying right? Ivy is still a young woman, she’s not married yet and she doesn’t have any children, are you saying she won’t have any child at all, please it suck, I don’t want her to have to go through the same thing I did where no one wants to marry a woman who can’t even give birth to her own child” Emily faced the doctor.
“I wish not to tell you the news but that’s really her faith now, I don’t know what she drank” the doctor released a sad sigh.
“Then can we see her now?” Grandpa Mario asked and the doctor gave space for them to go in.
Ivy was laying and looking at the ceiling with tears flickering from the side of her eyes.
“I’m sure you guys have heard the new news about me. You can all go back now, I don’t want anyone’s sympathy” she didn’t look at anyone’s face as she muttered those dry words.
“Ivy” Maya tried getting close.
“I said leave!!!!” Ivy yelled this time.
“I think it’s best if we step back for a while, this news must be really hard to take so let’s give her sometime before we come see her” Skyler muttered and they were all about to leave when Rosa stopped them.
“Stop everyone! It’s a prank, Ivy isn’t losing her womb, she just had food poisoning” Rosa announced and everyone looked at her including Maya.
“Rosa this is my daughter we are talking about here and no one have time for your stupid drama so if you don’t know what you’re saying then back off!!” Maya spatted at Rosa’s face but Rosa only smirked as she crossed her arms under her Brë@št.
“She’s right, your daughter just have food poisoning” the doctor walked in.
Everyone looked like they were shocked.
“But.. why? Why all these dramas?” Edna looked confused when she asked.
“All these dramas are to expose a rat who wouldn’t just go away” Rosa gave Maya a black look before facing everyone.
She dipped her hand in her pocket and brought out a familiar bottle to Maya.
“I stole this from Maya, she was going to poison Skyler with and doc please tell them what this substance can do to pregnant women” Rosa stretched the container to the doctor.
“It kills their baby slowly” the doctor replied.
“You see? Maya was going to kill Skyler’s twins because Maya here has been working with Agnes and Hailey” Rosa added and Skyler gasped, feeling stunned.
Maya was already crying.
“Wait so you were actually going to kill my grandchildren? Is this really how evil you’ve gotten?” Grandpa Mario stared at her in shock.
“I… I’m sorry” Maya began crying.
“Sorry is not enough, I’ll get you arrested Maya and after that you’re going home” Mason was really fuming with anger while Skyler was too speechless to say something.
“Son.. please-
“You’re not my mother” Mason shook his head. “And for trying to harm our unborn twins, I’m denying your access as their Grandma, you’re not longer apart of the family” Mason completed.
Maya fell on her knees.
“Security, escort this witch out of our lives” Grandpa Mario yelled and some security men came in, Maya was still crying when they dragged her out.
Mason hugged Skyler to himself, she haven’t said anything since and he understood that she must have been in a short trauma.
What would have happened if Rosa hadn’t interfered with Maya, was that how the twins she has been carrying for seven months would have died just like that?
“It’s okay, at least we are save now” Mason muttered and kissed her forehead.
“I just don’t know what I’ve done that she h@tës me like that” Skyler muttered and Mason rubbed her shoulders even more.
“She won’t bother you anymore and I won’t let anyone bother you, never again” he promised her and kissed her forehead again.

TWO MONTHS LATER ★
And just like that two months was gone by but it didn’t just go with nothing happening. These past month, Carson was done with highschool and his graduation was a month ago and Maya was still in jail.
With that whole family, everything was going normal, Mason’s work was going well while Skyler was getting prepared for her finals in the designer school. There would also be a big launch at D•S where Mason plans to show himself to the world and his wife too because at least by then, Skyler would have given birth.
It was in the midnight, everyone were asleep when Skyler’s stomach began paining her, it started with a little pain, she was sweating and uncomfortable that she had to turn to the other side of the bed.
“Are you okay beautiful?” Mason slowly opened his eyes, she was cuddling with him but left him all of that sudden.
When he heard hey groaning a bit, he sat on the bed and turn on the table lamp.
“Beautiful..” he called softly.
“My tummy hurts Mason?” Skyler groaned.
“Where? Do you need me to give you a message?” He moved closer to her and placed his hands on her stomach.
Skyler’s pain calm down a little.
“I’m fine now” she muttered.
“So what happened earlier, do you need me to take you to the hospital tomorrow?” He asked softly and she shook her head.
“I guess it’s just a sign that the baby would soon come out” she replied.
“Really? How do you know that?” Mason narrowed his eyes at her.
“I’m a woman, I know” she rolled her eyes before laying on the bed properly.
Mason laid close to her and wrapped his hands around her stomach.
“Sleep tight and don’t go anywhere tomorrow,if anything happens you should call me okay?” He said softly and she nodded.
He then kissed her forehead before they both went to sleep again.

It was afternoon, Mason was busy in the board room listening to one of his client talk when Alvin entered.
“Boss your grandpa has been calling non stop and I know it was disrespectful to pick your calls but you really need to go to the hospital” Alvin whispered to him.
“Why what happened?” Mason looked at him.
“Skyler is there and she’s on labour” Alvin told him.
Mason’s eyes widened, he stood up and rushed out of the board room without informing anyone.
“I’m so sorry but boss’s wife is in the hospital, we all know she’s pregnant and she’s giving birth today so this meeting will be shifted to further notice” Alvin explained to the people.
“Oh, tell Mason we are wishing his wife safe delivery” one of the client said and the others nodded with him.

Mason was driving his way to the hospital with full speed, there was mixture of excitement and worry in his eyes.
He was excited that Skyler was giving birth to the twins, he couldn’t wait to see his children and he was worried because she would be in so much pain and he wanted to be there for her.
There was this truck coming opposite him like it wanted to hit him on purpose, Mason narrowed his eyes and tried turning his truck to the other side but it wouldn’t move.
He narrowed his eyes and tried again but it still didn’t move and that was when he saw a note on his car.
*Seems like you’re gonna have to die without seeing your twins then I’d take what’s rightfully mine*
He looked forward again and the truck was already very close to hitting him.
Seems like there was no hope left for him.
