And Neil Smirked. A fool would always be a fool.
He went to open the door for indigo to come in and she chuckled.
“Geez! I thought it wouldn’t work but guess you’re right. She’s foolishly obsessed” Indigo clicked her tongue before opening her bag and brought out her laptop.
“Did you get her phone?” Indigo asked and Neil went to get it at the table where it was lying carelessly.
Indigo unlocked the phone and then she downloaded all the files on the phone. The reasonable ones they would be able to use against her.
When Indigo was done, she made a thumbs up and Neil got the sign. He returned the phone back to the same position.
“Do you want me to insert a tiny camera so we can be able to monitor her movements and be more steps ahead of her” Indigo asked but he shook his head.
“I don’t think that’s necessary. We’ve done enough and I don’t want her to suspect a thing and perhaps we have enough evidence to jail her” Neil said and Indigo nodded.
She shut down her laptop and closed it before inserting it back to her bag.
“Should we get going”
“I think yes” Neil said and they spared Georgia a glance before walking out of the mansion.
ARMSTRONG MANSION*
Aunt Marie just got back and didn’t see anyone around which meant that they could still be at the hospital.
After entering her room, she closed the door and rested her back against it heaving a sigh of relief.
She looked up to and then she saw Chairman Armstrong sitting on a couch in her room and her heart beat accelerated as she was shocked.
“Where are you coming from looking so pale Marie” He asked sitting comfortable with a magazine in his hands.
“I… I.. ” Marie couldn’t find words to put together so she ended up stuttering.
“I’m not a ghost so why are your eyes so wide” Chairman asked.
“I just came back from the hospital after I heard that your wife was poisoned” Marie finally answered since that was all she could think of.
Chairman closed the magazine in his hands and he raised a brow, “But I was told you weren’t home all day so how did you get to know that Lora was poisoned” His question threw her off balance and he smirked.
“I just happen to know. Yunno news flies” She smiled awkwardly but he scoffed.
“You didn’t visit the hospital so spill it out. Where were you all day?” He slammed his hands on the table and she flinched resting her back fearfully on the door.
“I know you more than anyone and you’re very cunning more than that bastard you call a daughter” Chairman bawled taking long strides to her and she tried to run out of the room but her hands kept slipping on the knob.
“You killed your husband… Not like that’s any of my business but then you tried to poison Lora” he said more like a question and she shivered.
“Before you kill anyone dear to me I would kill you first” His eyes flashed danger and before she could blink his hands grabbed her neck choking her.
He released her neck just when she was almost out of breath and he pushed her to the bed.
“I’ve prepared a flight that’s taking you back to Australia first thing tomorrow morning” He said and walked out of the room slamming the door in her face.
Marie panicked after Chairman left and she tried calling Georgia but she wasn’t picking then out of anger she threw the phone to the floor and held her hair pulling it frustratingly.
“I have to get out of here before morning” She said and went to her wardrobe and brought out a luggage putting her stuffs inside hurriedly.
HOSPITAL*
Madison opened the locket in her hands and it was a picture of a baby and a woman and Madison turned to Lora who was sleeping peacefully on the hospital bed.
She couldn’t believe that Neil wasn’t her real son but they shared a very special and Madison smiled caressing the locket in her palms.
Then the monitor began beeping irregular and Madison turned to Lora and saw that her breath quickened , her eyes widened and she dashed out going to look for the doctor.
“Doc the patient isn’t breathing normal” Madison panicked and the doctor went into the ward followed by two nurses.
Madison tried to follow them in but the nurses pulled her back, “I’m sorry ma’am but you can’t go in” They told her and Madison sighed before putting a call across to Neil.
“Your mum. She’s in a bad state right now. You have to come to the hospital quickly” She said and hang up.
She began pacing around the hospital corridor waiting for Neil to come and some news from the doctor.

“Thanks” Anastasia smiled as Andy pulled out a chair for her to seat. After she left the hospital, she didn’t want her Mother to know she was going on a date with Andy so that’s why she lied that she had an assignment to do.
“You’re nervous is something wrong” Andy asked sitting down also.
“Nothing” She shook her head and he smiled.
“I know I forced you into coming but please just give me a chance” He said and Anastasia nodded.
“So what would you like to eat on the menu” He asked.
“I just want some juice nothing else” She replied and Andy turned to the waiter that just came.
“Juice for the both of us” He said and the waiter bowed before leaving.
“Are you sure you’re alright. You’re eyes looks gloomy” Andy said acting concerned and Anastasia sighed.
“I don’t think this thing you’re trying to do with the both of us would work. You have to quit Andy I don’t like you” Anastasia said whispering the last part.
“Is it about your Dad. He doesn’t want me for you” Andy asked and Anastasia eyes widened.
“Are you gonna ask how I knew” He asked her unasked question.
“I know you still feel something for me Ana but you’re hiding it cause of my safety. Do you think I am that weak and can’t fight for someone I truly love” His eyes held emotions and Anastasia immediately felt guilty.
“You could have told me. I was ready to prove to your Dad that I won’t be a distraction to you Ana. I love you, Very” He said and touched her palm.
Their confession was cut short when Anastasia phone rang and on the caller id was Neil. “I need to pick this”
“What? What happened to Mum again?” She asked worriedly.
📞 I don’t know. The doctor hasn’t said anything but it’s critical I think. Neil replies.
“I’m coming now” Anastasia said and hang up before standing.
“I’m sorry Andy but I need to go to the hospital maybe we could see tomorrow” She said taking her bag.
“Let me follow you if…”
“No need I don’t think that’s necessary” She cut him short hurrying out but he held her wrist.
“I insist Ana. I want to be by your side this time for real” Andy said and Anastasia knew that there’s no point arguing with him so she nodded.
The drive to the hospital was fast and in few minutes they got down and hurried in. They met Neil and Madison pacing around.
“Big Bro” Anastasia called and Neil turned to her.
Just then the doctor came out and he had an unreadable face on so it got their heart skyrocketing and anticipating for the news.
“How’s she” Neil asked.
“How could none of you known that she had a brain tumor” The doctor asked and they all stared at each other.
“What are you saying doctor?”
“She had a tumor in her brain and it has grown very large that it can’t be removed anymore by surgery and it has affected her so much So… “The doctor paused and they couldn’t wait to hear the next words.
But when they saw how the doctor’s face dropped it shattered their hope.
“She couldn’t make it. We tried all we could but I am sorry” He said and walked away.
After he left Anastasia fainted cause of the shocking news and Neil squatted on the floor as his eyes produced painful tears.
Madison came to him and held his shoulders trying to placate him.
“You need to have this Neil. This was her last wish” Madison gave him the locket and he stared at her with teary eyes.
“What’s this?” Neil asked checking it out.
“She wanted you to find your real parents” Madison replied.
“Meaning??”
“You’re not her biological child Neil. You were adopted”
