Mara got home and dragged her feet to the sitting room tiredly
“I am home!! She said sluggishly….
Xavier was in the kitchen, cooking. “You’re home? Go to the dinning and help me arranged the plates” He called.
Mara went there raggly and begin arranging the plates “if I didn’t come home who’ll arrange the plates for you? She asked
“You can as well go back to where you’re coming from if you don’t want to be here” He said while bringing the hot pot to the table.
Mara took a pair of chopstick and made to dip it in but he stopped her
“Aren’t you complaining of not arranging plates earlier? So what’s the deal now? He asked
“Hey!!! Be human for once, this food looks too delicious for you to savour alone! She said
Xavier didn’t say anything instead he walked over to her and sat her on the chair and switched off the lights shooting the room into a pitch of darkness.
Mara was surprised, “What are you doing? She asked. But still there was nothing…. She stood up and tried walking toward the light switch but she hit her head on the wall.
“Xavier what are you doing? She asked again… Then he came with a small cute purple cake. On it was a candle and xavier was wearing a cone Birthday cap.

Mara was crying at this rate, today was her birthday? She didn’t even remember even her friends didn’t remember it’s unlike them not to wish her happy birthday.
Mara looked at him and the tears flowed More… He reminded her of her mother, when her mother was still alive, she’ll have collide with her friends and they’ll all wake her up with bucket of water before wishing her a happy birthday.
But her mother was not Alive anymore, the friends that always wished her on her birthdays didn’t even remember but her formidable charismatic enemy, Xavier remembered.
Mara placed the cake on the table and hugged him with tears in her face… (Oh my gosh it was emotional😢) “Thank you !! Thank you so much Xavier!! Thank you for making me feel special!!!! Thank you so much I appreciate!!! She said through her tears still hugging him tightly.
Xavier was caught off guard, after is aunt or Celine his sister or even Rose, no one had hugged him before this tight. He could feel his heart thumping at 360°.
As Mara hugged him, she was crying heavily, she remembered her mother, she remembered her childhood days, her father Will brought her a purple cake like this one and sang her a birthday song Before leaving for his work. But on her 5th birthday, after wishing her a happy birthday in the midnight, he left for his work as a driver for some rich family, ad he never returned.
She remembered how much her mother struggled to be celebrating her birthday for her even though it’s thesame day that her husband went missing neither confirm dead or alive.
It was a huge flow of emotions….. “Mum…. Mum…..mum….mum….” shw cried bitterly, this stage Xavier patted her back gently like that of a mother and child, then he said
“Am so sorry Mara, but I want you to know that you’re special…. I may not be able to do what your mother would do, but trust me, so far we can still keep in touch I’ll always Celebrate your birthday’s for you”He said.
This statement made Mara cried more…. Then she released him and he on the light. Xavier took a table handkerchief and wiped her tears away, then sat her on he chair again. She was about to blow the candle when loud noises were heard from the door.
“C’mon, this is not the door! Charles said
“Mara said Xavier is a Devil, he didn’t want her Friends to come over” Angela’s voice was heard.
Xavier and Mara looked at each other….. Xavier clenched his fist. “Devil huh? He asked
Mara mummured ” As if I was lying” She said
“You said what? He asked again Lisa’s voice was heard again.
“Why don’t we call Mara to come meet us outside? Don’t you remember her saying he’s a vampire and crazy neat pshyco that didn’t even allow his own sister to come in freely without Spraying sanitizer? She asked
“C’mon, we’re from Flaky town, we’re friends, we’re always together, he can’t do anything and besides we have Mara, she said she can knock him down with her blows” Charles said again.
Xavier was getting antsy at this rate. “Really? Knock me down? He asked. Mara was silent.
“Let’s not put Mara in trouble, that crazy bastard can be troubling her right now so let’s head back and call Mara to Come over” Angela said again. She was about to call Mara when Xavier opened the door.
The three of them, was not surprised, instead they waved him off. But Charles spoke “Hey Man, where’s President Xavier’s house? He asked.
Xavier didn’t say anything but keep looking at the with angry eyes. Angela spoke again “Hey can’t you talk? We’re here for Mara… She lives with one Crazy neat pshyco! She Asked
Xavier now asked them “Can you describe who you’re looking for? He asked
Lisa walked forward and savage him “Why are you so rude? What’s your bussines in whom we’re looking for? There’s two houses here, we’re asking if this is Xavier’s house or not”She replied
Just then Celine came rushing… “Bro…bro…” but she stopped when she saw the people around…

“Guys!!! She called. Xavier turned to her “Didn’t I say you shouldn’t come outside? He asked gently.
Mara walked beside him and whispered, “Don’t try to act cool here, my friends can kill you with one punch so let them in, consider this a your gift to me on my birthday! She said in he ears.
Then she faced her friends…. “Guys!!! Come in… I thought you have forgotten about my birthday”she said.
Angela asked. “But you said xavier had a sister not a brother then who’s that? She asked
“That’s Xavier himself! Mara said. Angela was shocked. They had seen Him at the hospital before on the day that Mara’s mother died but they didn’t remember him again.
He ushered them to the table and they brought out the came the brought for her. Charles was still standing at the door. Looking at Celine.
Celine saw him, they both stood looking at each other… For some minutes, her heart skipped a beat…. His heart beat faster….(this is crazy).
Xavier snapped at her ” Why are you here? He asked
“Em…em…bro.. I… I came to say hello to Mara” She stuttered and rushed in without waiting for him to day another thing. Charles and Xavier walked in together, Xavier whispered to him

The photoshoot room was rowdy, all the designing department, HR department, Sales department, even some receptionist are there, they all want to see the Beautiful and the most popular Model in Los Angeles, Roseanne Barbs on set.
Rose came proudly, with her Manager tagging behind, she was wearing a white hat and black glasses. As soon as she saw Mara she begain ordering her around.
“Hey Miss Mara, I heard you’re the one in charge of the photoshoot Today? She asked
“Yes ma’am! Mara replied respectively, she’s at work now and she had to satisfy her needs so that she can Give them good photos for the fashion week.
“Get me some Crispy chicken before the shoot started and besides, I don’t want anyone around, this place is too rowdy” She instructed.
Mara nooded and faced Rose’s manager “excuse me can you help me get the chicken for your master? She asked
Rose cut her Short… “Hey… Ain’t you the one in charge? She’s my manager not yours, you should get anything I want or should I just leave? And I’ll return all your money” She said.
Mara nooded and quickly instruct the people that are not concerned to leave the shooting room then as fast as she could run she rushed out of the company to get the chicken.
She came back when Rose was still dressing up. Rose sat down and was about to eat the chicken but she stopped… “what’s this? This chicken had too much oil, did you want me to die of cholesterol? She asked. Mara apologized and rushed out again.
While she was gone, Rose started the shoot, meanwhile, while she was running around, she’ll pass the conference room where Xavier was having meeting.
Xavier was seeing how she’s running around and he kept wondering why so.
When she came back, Rose spat, “Are you that daft? I returned that one because of too much oil and now you brought this one, it’s too dry! She said.
“Call me your President!!! I want this lady, Mara Kings fired! She tired to kill me! Rose shouted. Making all the crew members surprised.
Xavier hurried to the scene with some stakeholders behind him…. “what’s the matter? He asked Mara who stood still without saying anything.
Rose rushed to him and fell on his chest while faking sobs… “Xavier, this lady, Mara Kings or wh@tëver her name was tired to kill me! She brought me chicken that has too much cholesterol and now she brought this one that’s too dry!! She said
But Xavier pushed her head away…. Then with expressionless face he said….
