(Next day)
“You mean he wanna see me?” Evelyn asked shivering, and martin nodded smiling.
“Am scared,” She said rubbing her sweaty hands together, and martin sigh. He grab hold of her cheek and made her look at him.
“You don’t have to be scared baby, my dad wants to see you, and it is for good… beside I will be right there with you so you don’t have to be afraid. Okay.” He kissed her forehead, and Evelyn managed to smile.
“Come on go and get ready,” He said. Evelyn sigh before walking to her room.
He turn around only to see her mom staring at them.
“Mum,” He called with a smile.
“How are you doing today?” She asked, and martin just nodded with a smile on his face.
“I went to visit my husband recently, and he told me you are working on getting him our of prison,” Mrs Jackson said, and martin eyes widened.
“I don’t want evelyn to hear this,”
“But why? She will be so proud to know that you are trying hard to get her father out of prison,”
“Yeah…but I wanted to surprise her, and I don’t want her to worry while I do the case,” Martin said.
“You are so sweet martin. Thank you for coming into her life,” Mrs Jackson said patting his cheek softly, and martin Chuckled.
“No ma, I really want to thank you For bringing such a darling soul into this world, and for accepting me,” Martin said, and mrs Jackson Chuckled.
“Propose to her already, I wanna have grandchildren,” Mrs Jackson said, and they both Bursted into laughter.
“Well I have plans for that lately. I am working towards it,” Martin said.
“Yeah. That is the spirit,” Mrs Jackson said, and they both bursted into laughter.
“What the hell are you guys talking about?” Evelyn asked as she walked towards them.
“Nothing,” They replied at the same time making evelyn scoffed.
“But….”
“It is nothing babe. Come on let go already,” He grab hold of hef hand and they both walked out while her mother just smiled.
She loves the Happiness she was seeing In her daughter, she was so gald that evelyn found such an amazing man to always out a smile in her face.

“Martin am scared,” Evelyn admitted, playing with the tip of her hair
“Come on I told you already you don’t have to be scared. No one is standing on our way anymore. Maria and her dad was arrested in his presence, and he felt the guilt that he shouldn’t have pressured me to marry her. Truly my dad really want to see you for good so relaxed. I am here with you so you don’t have to be scared,” Martin said, and evelyn sigh.
“I just can’t help but panic. The first time he saw me he gave me that cold expression that he probably don’t want me for his son so what if he still don’t like me anyway. What if he just wants to by rid of me, what if he wants to warn me to stay away from you….that I can’t do,” Evelyn said, staring deep into his eyes, and martin Chuckled before he pulled her into a passionate hug.
“My dad wouldn’t do that…you just feel insecure, and I understand you perfectly. He never liked you and you are thinking a day can change him but does he have a choice. If he don’t accept you, he looses a son but I am d@mn sure he is trying to know you so just relax.” Martin said, and kissed her forehead.
The big gate opened, and they drove inside.
“We are here,” Martin said. Evelyn rubbed her sweaty hands together, trying to calm down.
Martin walk to her side, and opened the door for her. He stretched his hand which evelyn gently received, and she stepped out of the car.
The guards bowed down immediately as he walked passed them, while evelyn just came looking around.
they walked Into the sitting room, and immediately charlotte hugged her almost knocking her off.
“Oh my gosh,” Evelyn gasps in shock but she calmed down after she saw it was charlotte.
The hug was unexpected.
“Sweetheart,” Her mother called, and hugged evelyn who reciprocated.
“How are you doing?”
“Fine,” She faked a smile.
She look sideways only to noticed mr Parker standing there, staring at them as they hugged each other, and she grab hold of martin shirt who just rolled his eyes.
“Seriously calm down,” He whispered in her ear.
Mr Parker walked towards her and that seem to increase her anxiety.
“Welcome daughter in-law,” He said with a smile on his face, and evelyn sighed in relief, and turned to look at martin who gave her I told you look.
“Come on let eat, I told the maids to prepare us something special since someone special was coming over today,” Mr Parker said, and evelyn blushed, turning to look at martin who just winked at her.
They all sat down in the dinning room eating. The dinning room was d@mn quiet. Only the sounds of plate, and spoon could be heard.
“So when did you and my son start dating?” Mr Parker asked staring at evelyn who gulped down.
She don’t really know how to answer that question. They dated for 2 years and then they broke up but after three years again they started dating.
It is kinda weird for her to answer that way.
“Hmmm well….”
“Dad we were ex before, so we just got back,” Martin replied, and mr Parker nodded.
“Dad where is your second wife and children?” Martin asked, and mr Parker rolled his eyes.
“They travelled out of country,” Mr Parker replied, and martin scoffed.
“I was just curious to know who changed my son.” Mr Parker said directly to evelyn who was kinda confused.
“I mean how do you change martin. He is arrogant and annoying, and you could hardly see him happy but now he smiled alot, and I know that is because of you so tell me how you changed him.” Mr Parker said, and evelyn laughed softly
“That I haven’t figured out yet. I don’t know why people keep saying I changed him yet I don’t know how,” Evelyn said, and martin chuckled.
“Let me answer that question,” Martin said, and everyone turned to look at him.
“You know when you are with the right one they changed you completely. Everything she does always brightens up my mood. Whenever I am upset, seeing her alone always put a smile on my face. She is a part of me, and that was why she could be able to change me,” He said and everyone just smile.
Evelyn hit martin chest playfully as she couldn’t stop blushing.
“I don’t want to be the one to spoil your happiness, and I also don’t want you to bring back that bad character of yours so aren’t stopping you from dating her,” Mr Parker said….
