<AT NIGHT>
olivia walked into the shabby building, tiredly.
After Patricia had told her to leave, she went
straight to work since she was afraid of going
home.
But she had nowhere to go and she can’t keep
on sleeping outside, she would have gone to
Aunt Violetta’s house but she’s afraid of that
strange lady.
So she had no choice than to come back home..

Olivia opened the door and went in, she froze
when she saw that the house was looking so
untidy and dirty, there were cigarettes
sticks on the floor and broken alcoholic bottles.
Flies were busy roaming freely inside the house,
it stenches so badly.
Olivia scrunched up her nose in disgust,
“Welcome home baby, I’ve been waiting for you”
She heard a
groggy and rough voice near the staircase,
Marcus staggered out of a particular spot with a
bottle in his hand,
Olivia took a step back, slowly.
She glanced at the staircase and thought of a
way to dash towards the staircase without
Marcus getting to her,
Olivia quickly ran and dashed towards the
staircase, Marcus tried to grab her but failed as
he fell on the floor with a loud thud,
“Come…back…” Marcus whined, sleepily like a
pig.
Olivia successfully got to her room door but
paused, she took slow and steady step to miss
Judy’s room and saw that the door was left ajar,
she pushed open the door, slowly.
She saw Miss Judy seated on the floor as she
went through some files with a bitter sob, Olivia
felt her heart ached badly, she felt like
embracing her mom,
telling her that everything would be alright but in
this situation, her leg was glued to the floor.
Tears rolled down her cheek, she took a step
into the room,
“Marcus.. am not ready for this–
Miss Judy was saying but paused, she turned
back and saw who it was, she quickly shoved
the files into the drawer and jammed it,
fearfully.
She stood up, nervously as she wiped her tears,
“Olivia dear…i miss you so much” Miss Judy
muttered, tearfully.
Olivia who saw what Miss Judy did, let out a
bitter scoff.
What was she hiding? What is
written inside those files?? Olivia gazed at the
drawer for a while before shifting her gaze back
to her mom.
“Sorry for intruding ” Olivia muttered coldly and
turned to go,
“Olivia please don’t walk away from me, I miss
you…come give me a hug” Miss Judy uttered,
pitifully.
Olivia shook her head, she turned back and ran
to her room, she locked the door.
Miss Judy leaned on Olivia’s room door as she
banged the door hard with a heavy sob,
“Olivia….please don’t run away…from me… “
Miss Judy sobbed.
“Olivia…? Mummy’s calling for you…! ” Miss
Judy sobbed out bitterly.. . . ..
Olivia gazed at the closed door with a tired sigh,
she sat down on the bed,
Now she wished she had a phone and an
earphone or headset to block her ears from
hearing her mother’s pretentious sob.
Olivia thought with an eye roll.

<THE NEXT DAY AT BRAKE BILLS HIGH >
“So don’t forget that music is an art of sound in
time that expresses ideas and emotions in
significant forms through the
elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and
color. Class dismissed, please submit your
assignment to the class prefect.” Miss Elsa
uttered, coolly.
She shoved her note books into her bag and left
the class.
Some students stretched, tiredly.
“Aigoo I thought she would teach us till night” A
girl murmured with an eye roll.
“Who give a Fuçk about music ” A boy mumbled
and scoffed.
Olivia glared at some students who were
discussing with their seat mates and friends,
sadly.
But she, she was all alone, immediately miss
Elsa left, Charlotte also left the class.
Seems like she was avoiding her again.
Olivia thought, sadly.
She shoved her books into her bag, arranged her
blonde wig properly and stood up, she strolled
towards the exit,
“Hey Olivia smith?! come over here! ” She heard
a firm voice called out to her,
Olivia turned back to see who was calling her
name, it was a girl whose name is Lucy she had
a heavy make up on her face,
“Yes? ” Olivia answered, coolly.
“Are you and Alex Donovan dating? ” Lucy
asked, rudely.
Olivia furrowed her brows confused,
She’s still looking for a way to win Alex’s heart
and here’s this big mouth asking her if she and
Alex are dating??
Olivia thought and scoffed,
“Sorry? I beg your pardon? ” Olivia asked, coldly.
Lucy sprang up from her seat in anger,
“So you’ve grown wings ugh? how dare you talk
to me that way?! ” Lucy yelled, angrily.
Olivia frowned,
What way? why is she angry all of a sudden??
“You think you have everything now that you’re
dating Alex??! have you forgotten that he’s
engaged to Lisa?” Lucy uttered, spitefully.
Olivia only glared at her, coldly without uttering
a word,
“When Lisa comes back he’ll break up with you
and still gets married to her! trust me Bîtch
because Alex’s parents wouldn’t let him get
married to a poor home wrecker like you! ” Lucy
spat out venomously and the whole class
erupted into a mocking laughter.
“Are you done? ” Olivia asked, lazily and turned
to go but Lucy gripped her arm tight and pulled
her back,
She raised her hand up to slap Olivia but a big
and firm hand held her hand and pushed her
back, she staggered and almost lost her
balance,
Olivia glanced at the person and saw that it was
Adrian,
“Don’t you dare touch her next time” Adrian
uttered, coldly.
He took Olivia’s hand into his and pulled her out
of the class.
Charlotte who was watching from a distance
was burning with jealousy and furry.
Olivia has two guys chasing after her but she…
she has none, Vince doesn’t like her…
Charlotte thought and felt anger rose up inside
of her, the ringing sound of her phone brought
her out of her reverie,
She picked the call without hesitating,
“What do you want again? ” She asked, coldly.
“Have you killed her? ” A female cold voice
emerged from the phone.
“Please stay away from me, I don’t want to do
anything for you anymore ” Charlotte retorted,
rudely.
A sarcastic laughter erupted from the other end,
“You’re so funny honey, don’t test my patience
for you know what I can do. If you don’t do what
I asked you to do I will tell Vince
about your dirty little secret, oh? I will even send
him a video ” A cunning sarcastic voice
emerged from the phone.
Charlotte clenched her fist, tight and gritted her
teeth in anger.
“What do you want again? ” Charlotte asked,
frustrated.
The other end was quiet for a while,
“Kill Olivia smith ” A cold and dangerous voice
emerged from the phone.
Charlotte shivered and fear gripped her,
“I… I can’t do..it… She’s my friend” Charlotte
muttered, shakily.
“Your friend you say?? I don’t care about that! If
you don’t do it then watch as I expose your dirty
little
secrets to Vince, Olivia, your school and to your
lovely adoptive parents ” The cold, venomous
voice emerged from the phone.
“I’ll think about it…just give me sometime”
Charlotte muttered and the line went dead.
Charlotte gazed at the phone for a while and
released a tired sigh.

<SOMEWHERE IN THE SCHOOL FIELD >
“Seriously?? were you planning to stand and
watch Lucy smack you? ” Adrian scolded
angrily.
Olivia lowered her head and bit down on her lip,
“I wasn’t expecting her to raise her hand at me”
Olivia mumbled, softly.
Adrian rolled his eyes, he sat down on the bench
and caressed her hair,
“It’s okay they won’t try such again as long as
am here. ” Adrian stated firmly.
Olivia smiled, warmly.
“Thank you so much Adrian Jones” Olivia
uttered, happily.
“Hey don’t thank me, what are friends for? “
Adrian uttered, playfully.
Olivia shoved him with her shoulder,
“Thank you so much big brother! ” Olivia
retorted, excitedly.
Adrian froze and his smile faded but Olivia
didn’t noticed.
Adrian took Olivia’s hand into his, slowly, he
stood up and also made her to stand up.
Olivia gazed at him, surprised.
“O.. Olivia smith.. can I tell you something…? “
Adrian asked, nervously.
Olivia gazed at him and nodded.
Adrian took a deep breath…
“Olivia smith…i… I think am–
A big and firm hand grabbed Olivia’s hand
making Adrian’s grip to lose from Olivia’s grip,
Olivia staggered and glanced at the intruder, it
was Alex.
Olivia felt her heart melt and felt butterflies
inside her stomach, her crush was holding her
hand!!
“What are you doing?! ” Adrian uttered through
gritted teeth.
Alex smirked, coldly.
“Am here to pick up my girlfriend, got any
problem with that? ” Alex stated, arrogantly and
scoffed.
Olivia gazed at Alex, stunned.
Wait? his girlfriend??
He pulled Olivia to where his car was parked,
Olivia turned back and glanced at Adrian,
“Sir he’s–
Olivia tried saying but Alex hissed, angrily
cutting her off,
“I don’t care get in” Alex mumbled coldly and
shoved her into the car, carefully.
He shut the door.
Adrian ran towards the car, angrily.
“Let her out now! we were discussing! ” Adrian
roared, angrily.
By now the field was already crowded, some
students gossiped while some watched and
took pictures.
“And so? why would you try to confess your
feelings to my girlfriend?? get that into your
head and scull, she’s already taken…by me” Alex
stated, coldly.
Some students gasped, surprised.
So it is true? Alex and Olivia are dating?!!
Adrian felt his whole world crumbled and his
heart shattering into pieces,
Olivia banged on the car, tinted glass,
frustrated.
How did he locked the door??
She wasn’t even hearing what they were saying
but the way Adrian’s face was it felt like he was
about to cry.
Alex opened the car door, got in and shut it,
Olivia gazed at him and took her gaze outside,
there Adrian stood frozen, his face white and
pale as a sheet.
What was wrong??
“Please…can you open the door..? Adrian–
“He will be fine soon” Alex muttered, lazily.
His eyes were tightly shut,
Olivia continued gazing outside,
“What? you’d prefer to stay with him than me? “
Alex asked, ÇOçkily.
Olivia quickly shook her head, sideways and
stopped staring outside.
“Drive” Alex mumbled with a faint smirk.
The chauffeur roared the engine to life and
drove off out of the school building.
