Episode 10
I had instructed the driver to go see the wife,
and I paid him a token.
He was incredibly helpful, and the payment I
gave him was insignificant in comparison to the
assistance.
But I had vowed to get in touch with him once
things were settled.
Thank you, my sister,” he said and drove away.
I had to spent some time with mike mother in
the village.
She wasn’t really in good shape, so if I had left,
she might have hanged herself.
The following morning, the investigating police
officer (IPO) contacted to let me know that my
father continues to maintain that he knows
nothing about Mike.

But the case is been transferred,

speak with the DPO.

I met with the DPO the following morning at the
station with my lawyer.

Okay, the case had been transferred to the state
C.I.D
The Divisional level is not where we handle
murder cases,
However, I’ve told the IPO to act morally,
So, be patient, justice would prevail.
He turned and spoke briefly with my lawyer
before we departed.

In order to gather a few of my clothes and
undies and return to the village,
The lawyer and I had moved down to Mike’s
house to pick some.
As soon as I got there, the landlady ran over to
me and said that some men had came looking
for me.
They left when they realized I was not around,
Hmm, I grinned,
That wicked man thought am a fool. I reasoned.
Please, she said.
They had such a menacing appearance. I hope
everything is okay. Also, where is Michael
because I haven’t seen him in days? She asked.
“Hmm, ma, Mike is de@d oo,” I retorted, and
then hurried into the house.
She then started crying.
My home was smelling bad, and the meal I
cooked had spoiled.
I didn’t need to take much time in order for
those nasty men not finding me here. I thought.
After selecting a few of my clothes, I departed
the compound.
Where will you be staying now? Landlady
inquired as I prepared to leave,
I retorted, “Ma, I don’t know.”
Abeg, at this point I don’t trust anyone, not even
the lawyer who is staring so intently at my
thigh. I pondered.

After one week, the case was brought to court,
and I was happy about that as my lawyer
informed me.
My telephone rang,
I picked without speaking.
The caller, Linda,
I responded, “How can I help you?”
It’s jake, he said.
I know, I replied.
What can I do for you then? I queried.
Linda, are you sure that you are not too foolish
to stand against your biological father?
Is this not insane? He queried.
In fact, allow me to remind you in case you are
unfamiliar with your father:

The day of the court hearing has arrived,
I, together with the Lawyer, Mike’s mother and
a few concerned citizens all went to court.
