NOT ME…chapter 16
….it was a very quiet drive home,,, everyone lost in thoughts,,,we got home and explained everything to mum, she was just speechless,,, No body had the apatite to eat that evening,,,,Mum called us all to the sitting room,what do we do now, she asked,,,our hope of finding Pinky or Faith, was Mrs Gloria, and it turns out she’s looking for her too,,, this is serious, very serious,,,that child must have suffered a great deal,,,been alone,and homeless, in this big and busy city of Lagos, where nobody cares about the other,,,
Osalobua,I am finish,,,my world has crumbled,,, mother said crying bitterly,,,,, will you keep quiet,,,, and stop shedding those crocodile tears,,,you are the architect of this problem,,,, pray nothing happens to my daughter, else you will see the other side of me,,,what nonsense,how wicked can a mother be,,,giving your own flesh and blood away,,,, a child you carried for nine good months,,,the pains and all,yet you gave her out,father shouted,,, do you think it was was easy for me, Clement, answer me,I know I have wronged you, by keeping your child away from you all these time,,,but do you think it was any easy thing for me,,, not a single day passes by without me thinking about her,, how she’s doing, how grown she has become, if she was identical like her twin Charity and all that,it has not been easy on me,so please,,, slow down on me,,and have mercy on me,,,
You deserve no mercy from me,you don’t,,,, if I do not find my daughter,,, or one or two thing happens to her,you shall find yourself in your father’s house…
Mr Clement please calm down,we shall find your daughter, Nurse Bola added, oh I do not want you speaking here,your kinds are the black sheep in the medical sector,,, switching babies or selling people’s children,,,,, you promised to take Care of lives and be faithful in carrying out your duties,,,instead,you do other wise,,,,,,just pray, my child is safe,else,you,Mrs Gloria and this hypocrite that calls herself my wife,will see the
beast in me…..there was a heated argument in the air,,,,Mom and Derrick tried to calm them down….
Mr Clement I know how you feel, I honestly do,,,but I think this isn’t the right way to go about it,,,we have to be a term,,, together we shall do this, this fighting and quarrelling will do us no good,,,please Sir, put yourself together,,, please,Mom said….
What do we do now, Father asked calmly,,, I don’t know much about Lagos, I have lived most of my life in Edo state,,,although i have been to Lagos but occasionally,,, staying not more than two days,,father said,how then do I search for my Daughter…
What if we go to the media house and declare her wanted,,,,Nurse Bola suggested…. Due to the kind of life style we think she’s living now, that will scare her,it will make her go into hiding, thinking it’s one of her victims that wants her arrested..Derrick disagreed…
So what do we do ,Mom asked…
After thinking for a while, I told them the only option was to keep visiting the club house, as that seems to be the only hope…..
Derrick and I kept visiting, hoping to see pinky,Cy was also very supportive, she asked as many Persons as possible, she thought could know Pinky’s whereabouts, but she seems to have disappeared into tin air…
Meanwhile mother had become a shadow of herself,she neither eats nor speak much,,,she was no doubt regretting what she did,and father wasn’t making the whole thing easy for her… Soon the whole situation got the better part of her, and she became sick,,,, Nurse Bola prescribed some medication’s for her,and we bought them,,,,days on she was getting worse,,,the medication’s weren’t helping her at all,,,we had stopped the search for Pinky, and All eyes and attention was on mother to regain her health,,,,
One evening, after dinner,,,,which mother could not really eat,she was walking back to the bed room, when suddenly she fell to the ground,and passed out…..
