NOT EDITED

Shaun looked like he had lost his memories and is trying to recall where he is or who the person infront of him is. He was finding hard processing what Fabiola said.

“Fa-bio-la.” He stuttered as he was finding it difficult to talk.

“I’m not expecting you to say anything. I just want to let you know I can’t keep being your fake girlfriend. Just tell Natasha you’re still in love with her and accept her response. Fooling someone isn’t love.” Fabiola said with a slight smile. Somehow saying it out seems to have reduced the pain she felt within.

Shaun watched her walk back to the door, unlocking it and leaving. He couldn’t even move. It was like he’s feet were stock in his shoes and he’s tongue tied. He couldn’t even breathe well as it felt like he’s frozen inside.

“What…what just happened?” He finally asked himself. He ruffled his hair with a loud groan. It felt funny though.

‘Did we just break up?’ He thought, chuckling at his stupid question.

He never knew he was hurting Fabiola by his act. To him it was actually fun. If he had known she would end up liking him,he wouldn’t have asked her to do it in the first place.

SWIM BUILDING

Swayer sat at the edge of the pool, crying her heart out. She kept thinking of all Sebastian had said.

“You make it sound like I’m responsible for your father’s blindness or your lack of knowledge or the fact that you made friends with the wrong people!”

She wiped the tears that refused to stop falling from her eyes, smiling slightly.

What pained her the most is the fact that even after all he said, she still couldn’t say that she h@tës him now. It seems her feelings for him keeps growing everyday even though they’ve never really bounded much.

The memories of how he helped her before was the only thing that made her develop this stupid feeling.

“Who do you think you are, huh? Who the f*ck do you think you are!” She yelled, covering her face with her palms.

“Jeez, what happened to you?” Swayer heard a voice say behind her. She cleaned her wet face with her sleeve before turning back.

“Gracie?” She called to be sure. It was dark the first time they met but she couldn’t forget that voice.

“You look like someone who got served breakfast.” Gracie chuckled.
Swayer got up from the swimming pool edge, walking up to Gracie.

“What are you doing here?” Swayer asked smiling slightly.

“I umm…I actually came looking for Anna but I just wondered here. Your school is really big.” Gracie smiled.

“Anna? I thought you two broke it off.” Swayer furrowed her brows.

“We did. I just want to talk to her about something.” Gracie sighed.

“Your cancer?” Swayer asked surprising Gracie.

“How..did you-”

“Anna told me.” Swayer cut her off.
“We are best friends, she doesn’t hide anything from me.” Swayer added with an apologetic smile.

“It’s fine. Well now you’re here in this state, I’m guessing we both need counseling.” Gracie smiled back.

“Nah, I’ll be fine. I can hear you out though.”

“Only if you let me do the same. An eye for an eye, remember?” Gracie said moving to the pool. She sat at the edge, tapping her side for Swayer to join her.
Swayer sighed, walking back to the pool and sitting beside her.

“So who goes first?” Swayer asked and Gracie smiled at her.

“I’ll go.” Gracie said.

Five minutes later…

“I’m really sorry Gracie. You’ve really been through a lot. I’m more sorry because Anna isn’t the right person for this. She’s straight. She only agreed to do it at first because our friend was involved and we’ll forever be grateful for your help.” Swayer smiled, placing her hand on Gracie’s.

“I understand. I just wanted to let her know I didn’t tell her my feelings for an agenda. I just wanted to get it out. After all, a hidden love isn’t love at all.” Gracie chuckled.

Swayer faced her with a slightly squeezed face.

“What did you say?” She asked again trying to understand what she meant by her last statement.

“I mean, if you can’t tell someone how you feel about them, then you can’t say you love them. If it’s hidden, it’s not love.” Gracie repeated.

“What if the person is acting like a complete jerk?” Swayer frowned.

“We all have our ups and downs. Good side and bad side. If you can’t accept a person’s flaw, then you won’t ever get along. Accept them as a whole, with their flaws and perfections. It’s the only way to be at peace with them.” Gracie smiled.

“Thank you Gracie. You know I have a aunt whose a doctor. She stays in Boston. I can arrange for you to see her, maybe she’ll be able to prescribe a drug that can extend your life span.” Swayer said but Gracie shook her head.

“Why prolong the inevitable? I’ve already accepted my fate a long time ago.” She said standing up.
“I’m guessing I’ve solved your problem as well?” She asked and Swayer bounced her head.

“Thank you.” Swayer said smiling broadly.

“Say hi to Anna for me.” Gracie said before leaving.
Swayer sighed, facing the pool.

Sebastian can be annoying… really annoying but he’s also very sweet. Gracie is right. She needs to accept his bad side as well if she wants to be at peace with him but that doesn’t mean she’ll let go of the hurtful words he said to her.

“I think it’s best if I keep my feelings to myself for now. Maybe it’ll go away. I don’t want to hurt myself and I need to focus more on my grades than some stupid crush.” She said to herself, standing up from the floor. She exhaled, feeling much better.

“Thank you Gracie.” She smiled before exciting the building.

NEXT DAY

Students were gathered in the hall for the announcement. Principal Donald was going to address everyone and also call out the students that qualifed along with their scores.

“Did you get to check who topped us?” Fiona whispered to Swayer.

“I didn’t. I think we should just wait for Anna to come.” Swayer sighed. She had planned to check the scores again yesterday but got distracted and never remembered it afterwards.

Sebastian came into the hall and he’s gaze locked with that of Swayer. Swayer was the first to look away, rolling her eyes.

“Jerk.” She muttered. Fiona faced her immediately thinking she’s talking to her.

“Huh?” She said feeling hurt.

Swayer looked at her and when she saw the expression on her face she shook her head with a slight smile.

“I wasn’t talking to you sweetie.” She smiled and Fiona nodded.

Sebastian walked over to their seat with a slight smile.

“Hi.” He said, looking at Swayer in particular.
Others responded, with Maeve just giving him a simple nod but Swayer didn’t even glance at him.

“Swayer, can we talk later, please.” He said and she finally faced him.

“And if I say no?” She asked with a frown.

“I’ll just ask again.” He said smiling slightly.
Swayer rolled her eyes, resting her back on the chair. His smiles were enough to break her act.

“Wh@tëver.” She said with a sigh.
Sebastian nodded before walking to the back seat.

The girls faced Swayer immediately.

“Did something happen between you two?” Fiona asked the same question running through everyone’s mind.

Swayer looked at the rest and they had the same questionable look on their faces.

She was about replying when principal Donald came in and everyone had to settle down.

“Goodmorning students.” He said cheerfully.

“Morning principal Donald.” Everyone chorused.

“I come bearing gifts.” He said picking up a small box that was placed at the edge of the stand.
He opened it, bringing out twelve envelops.

“Here with me are the names of qualified students and their personal plane tickets to Canada tomorrow.” He said with a broad smile.

“Where the hell is Anna?” Chrystal asked looking at the entrance door but she was yet to show.

“Okay first I’ll call out their names and scores and then they’ll come up here and receive their envelope.” Principal Donald said bringing out the score sheet. This one had their names, ID numbers and scores to make things easier for him.

“First we have Ethan Bleke.” He said and students applauded Ethan.
“Ethan has a total of 70.67 percent. Please let’s give him another round of applause.” Principal Donald said as Ethan walked up to the stage to receive his envelope.

“Thank you sir.” Ethan said as he kissed his envelope.

“Canada here I come!” He yelled and students began laughing.

“Not like he can’t go there on his own.” Ivory rolled her eyes.

“Yh but it’s more fun when it’s another pocket paying.” Chrystal winked.

“Okay next we have Kyle Wesley.” Principal Donald said and Maeve rolled her eyes.

“Why???.” She groaned and Swayer laughed at her

“Face it Maeve, you two are fated.” Chrystal winked at her and she shot Chrystal a hard glare.

“Kyle has a total of 70.70 percent.” He said and Kyle walked up to take his envelope. He winked at Maeve while returning to his seat but she just rolled her eyes.

“Next we have Natasha Flyn. Natasha has a total of 72.50 percent.” Donald said and Natasha almost jumped up in joy. She wanted to scream Fabiola’s name for her assistant. If not for her coaching she wouldn’t have passed but sadly she couldn’t do that since Fabiola isn’t speaking to her. She silently walked up to take her envelope while students applauded her.

“Shaun Mayor. 75.80 percent.” Donald said. Shaun walked up and did the usual which is collecting his envelope.

“Sadly miss Anna Salmore couldn’t make it so she asked us to give hers to another brilliant students of ours Kandle Freeman.” Donald said and FAMICS exchanged glances.

All of them had the same expression. The same shock.

“What!!!”
