*MONDAY*
AVERY’S POV
I woke up, took my bath, wore my blue sleeveless bodycon long dress with long slit, my white Gucci sneakers with rose design and my black leather jacket.
I applied some lip gloss and eyeliner, fixed my hair in ponytail. I wore my backpack and left the bedroom. 3
Adelaide and Yolanda went loveforlovelorn night class, so they’re not going anywhere but they’re asleep.
So I left the hostel alone.
I can’t stop thinking about last night. I still don’t understand why Rex still wants me after what happened.
That’s why I’ve been avoiding him since the party. Especially Gianna. I don’t want any more problems.
While walking into the school compound, I dialled Marcus number but he answer. Why?
I’ve been calling his number, trying to see him but I didn’t. I’ve not seen him since the party. What’s wrong with him?
I’ll check on him in his class after lecture.
I entered the building, noticed Gianna standing beside my class, glaring at me.
I ignored her as I wanted to walk pass her but she held my hand tightly.
“Stay away from Rex.” She sneered.
I yanked my hand off “Leave me alone gurl, I have a boyfriend.”
“Then why did you ruin my relationship? Because you’re not content and I’ll surely make you pay.” Gianna threatened.
I rolled my eyes as I walked into the class, ignoring her.
I stood in surprise as I saw Rex sitting at my seat, leaving a space for me to sit.
I still don’t want to talk to him.
I signed as I saw beside a blonde guy younger than me.
“Hi.” I greeted.
“Hi.” He replied.
“Hey.” Rex stood in front of us.
I glared at him “What is it?”
“We need to talk.” Rex said.
“Go talk to someone else, maybe your ex-girlfriend.” I muttered.
REX’S POV
I sighed deeply as I lay my hands on the table, glaring at the guy “Get up.”
He stood up immediately, being scared.
I sat beside Avery “Hi.” I smiled.
She rolled her eyes “That’s what you’re good at. Blackmailing and threatening people, making best friends enemies. You don’t even get tired of all this.”
“I guess you’re right, I’m sorry for what I did last year. I did all that just to get closer to you because you don’t want to give me any chance because of your dumb best…”
“She’s not my best friend.” She cut me off.
I frowned “Huh?”
What did she say? Gianna is no more her best friend? That’s new. Why is Avery saying that? She gets angry if I say anything bad about Gianna.
“She broke our 12 years friendship right? And she said she h@tës me, so what’s the point of calling us besties? All this is because of you…”
AVERY’S POV
“Because of her…” He whispered as he moved closer to me, rubbing my neck, our lips are closer to each other.
He should just kiss me already but not in front of people.
I moved a inch away from him, acting uncomfortable.
He moved closer and no more space. He smiled “I love you and I know you love me too but didn’t want to show it.”
True. But I’m afraid of what Gianna is gonna do. I know since childhood, she won’t rest till she gets what she wants. Why was I even her friend?
“Kiss me.” He whispered as he’s about to kiss me, I quickly stood up and walked out of the class.
Someone kicked me “Ow!” I fell to the ground.
Gianna! She’s smirking at me “I told you to stay away from my boyfriend.”
I stood up and pushed her angrily “What’s your problem? He’s even the one who even came to me.”
“Did you just push me?” She asked.
I gave her a contempt look “You started it.”
She raised her hand to slap me but someone held her grip. Rex.
I groaned as I walked away. Seeing the both of them at the same time is the worst.
I guess I’m missing class today, for the first time in university. Just because of those two nightmares.
I went straight to Marcus’s class, to check on him but he’s not there.
I saw one of his friend “Hey Ken, have you see Marcus?” I asked.
He burst into laughter “He’s busy with something at Nite hotel.” He laughed louder as he walked away.
Is he drunk or something? What’s Marcus doing in an hotel? I feel suspicious.
I want to go straight to the hotel but I can’t leave the school premises till lecture is over. Private university problem.
I went straight to the library to study. I can’t go back to the class because Rex is there and Gianna is around that area. I’m not a coward but I’m not ready for any challenges for now.
*LATER DURING THE EVENING*
I left the school, booked a cab and drove off to Nite Hotel.
I paid and came out of the cab and walked into the hotel, to the workers counter.
“Hi, I need a key to my boyfriend’s room, his name is Marcus Coleman.” I said and the worker gave me a key. Room 011.
I went in and entered the elevator and it took me to the second floor, I came out walking down the hallway, looking for the room.
I heard some loud familiar noises, Mõ@ns and bangs. I cringed in disgust.
I frowned feeling suspicious and scared noticing its coming from room 011. Is it not the key to Marcus room? No! It can’t be. There must be a mistake.
I inserted the key, unlocked and opened the door.
I gasped in deep shock as I saw Marcus on top of Kylie, naked, shocked to see me.
“Babe!!” Marcus quickly stood up and wore his brown shorts “It’s not what you think.”
“My boyfriend is having sëx with that Bîtch.” I said, still in shock.
“Hey! Mind your language, dump Bîtch.” Kylie stood up with blanket wrapped around her.
Marcus moved closer to me “I’m sorry for everything, you’re not supposed to be here, what are you doing here?”
“How could you do this to me?!!” I cried bitterly.
“I said I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to, you didn’t give me a chance to have sëx since all this months and I’m tired of waiting…”
I landed a big hot slap on his face and he fell.
Kylie stood up “Hey! How dare you lay hands on my boyfriend?”
“Boyfriend?”
“Yeah, Marcus and I have been dating even because he knows you exist, we found out your father is super rich that’s why he dating you, to get wealth.” Kylie explained.
I felt totally heartbroken. I can’t believe my first boyfriend would betray and cheat on me. Tears begin to drop from my eyes.
Marcus stood up “Avery, that’s not true.”
I burst into tears as I stormed out of the hotel.
Why is my love life a mess and unexplainable? Is it a crime to love?

“I can’t believe Marcus would do such a thing.” Adelaide said, holding my hand.
“Yeah, he’s such a monster.” Yolanda added.
Three of us are in my bedroom, on my bed, I shed painful tears silently, feeling like a big mess.
“That Kylie Bîtch must pay for what she did.” Adelaide said angrily.
“Guys, just go to bed. I need some alone time and sleep please.” I said.
Adelaide and Yolanda sighed “Fine.” “We’ll go. Good night.” They said as they left the room.
REX’S POV
I hid behind the door as the girls left. I heard everything.
“Why?!!!” Avery cried louder as she threw her pillows.
I swear I’ll kill Marcus for hurting my girl. I clenched my fist angrily.
I left the girl’s hostel angrily and went to the boys hostel, straight to Marcus bedroom.
I banged the door angrily “Open up!!” I yelled.
“Hey, don’t break my door!” I heard his stupid voice.
He opened the door and showed his motherf*cking face.
“You Son of a Bîtch!!!” I punched his face and he staggered inside.
I entered and locked the door.
“Ow! What the f*ck dude?!” Marcus winced.
I grabbed his collar and punched him repeatedly “Didn’t I warn you not to hurt my Avery? Now I’m gonna kill you!!!” I hit it repeatedly till I got tired and satisfied.
Marcus felt weak, wanted to pass out.
“Now, you should stay away from Avery or else you’ll be begging for your d@mn life.” I said tiredly as I stood up and left the room.
No one dares to hurt Avery, they don’t know who they’re messing with.
