(Mates at war)

Gabriella wanted to have breakfast in her room but Jax stopped her. He wanted her to join his family.

“Your father wouldn’t like to see me,” Gabriella shook her head and pulled her hand from his loose grip.

“Who cares what he likes? This is my house, his ownership over this house has passed, so he can tell who to bring to the dining room.” Jax argued.

“But you didn’t defend me the last—”

“Shhh,” Jax hushed. “That time has passed. I am going to defend you now, from anyone or anything that tries to hurt you,”

Gabriella smiled at his words.

“Jax, you are confusing. You’ve been acting too differently since you came out of that freezer,” Gabriella muttered.

“Well, I think that getting close to dying is thought to be more compassionate when it comes to other people’s lives. And when you helped me from that freezer, you made me believe in warmth, forgiveness and kindness. I only showed you ruthlessness but you still saved me,” He smiled.

“Thank you,” Jax smiled.

Gabriella’s heart was touched by his words.

“You are welcome,” She muttered and raised her feet a little.

She kissed his lips softly and pulled back.

“I will see you in the dining room,” Gabriella grinned and walked down the stairs.

Jax took his fingers to his lips and smiled.

He thought of his duel with his twin brother and his smile vanished. After dinner, he planned on training and getting himself ready.

The doctors lodged into their individual rooms in the hotel and they also had a room that was specifically for their meeting.

After having breakfast, they went to their meeting room. Their spy in the pack had given them the information they needed and as they were in the having their meeting, the spy called and gave them more information.

“What did he say?” one of the evil doctors asked.

“He said that they are twins,” the doctor gasped. “He said that he got the full story about how the first twin was sent away while the second twin became the Alpha,”

“It would be hard to find the outcast. I think we should focus on catching the Alpha then make him pay for what he did to our colleagues,” another one spoke.

“To find this Alpha, there is a place called the pack house and that is the place where we will get him,” the leader of their operation said and opened a briefcase.

“I have been experimenting on a drug for a while now and finally, it is ready,” He said.

He brought out a silver looking substance from the briefcase.

“What can it do?”

“It is a substance mixed with silver and other things that can cause terrible damage to a werewolf. It’s a combination and if it’s overdosed, it can cause death. But before that we use it, we have to experiment on one of the werewolves around here,” He replied.

“Good idea,”

“So, how will we catch the Alpha? How will we get him?”

“I have a plan,”

The day of the duel came, Jack and Jax were on an empty field with Damien and a few guards there as witnesses.

Gabriella was unaware of the duel and she might never find out if one of the twins died.

“Be ready to pay for your sins, Jax,” Jack spat.

“You should be ready to die,” Jax snarled.

“Let the duel begin!” Damien yelled and the twins launched at each other.

They began clawing furiously at each other. Jack was more aggressive than Jax, his claws were targeting Jax ruthlessly.

Jax wanted him to waste his energy then he would attack him.

Jack noticed that Jax wasn’t attacking him fiercely. So, he pulled back and waited for Jax to attack me.

Jax squinted at him and suddenly swung his foot towards his face. It was unexpected and caused Jack to go to the floor.

As Jax got close to Jack, Jack growled and from the floor, he flew a little high and gave Jax a nasty kick on his temple.

Jax felt dizzy but didn’t fall. Without wasting time, he attacked Jack, throwing his terrible claws at him. Jack kept dodging each one.

“You’ve got to try harder, Jax,” Jack laughed.

But his laughter got cut short when his brother used his werewolf speed and rushed to him. Jax used his shoulder to pull him down to the floor then he began punching his face.

Jack didn’t try fighting back too much because he had a plan. As Jax was battering his face with punches, he didn’t notice when one of Jack’s hands went into the ground.

He had buried the deadly dagger in the spot and one th-ru_st of the dagger would send Jax to his grave.

Jack used one hand to block his face and the other hand removed the dagger.

‘Goodbye, brother,’ Jack thought with an evil smirk on his blood stained lips.
