TWO MONTHS LATER ??
Hazel walk into Jake’s Ward with her two months old son in her hand and Hansel beside her
There was Jake sitting lifelessly on the bed, his body were white already and he looks thin
“Dad! Hansel called running to Jake
” Champ” Jake smile weakly and Hansel almost cried
“Dad is it true you are leaving us? He asked in tears
” Why did you ask? Jake replied
“Mom kept saying that last night as she kept crying”
Jake face Hazel who was in tears already
Hazel sniffed back her tears as she stared at his already pale face, his lips were dried and his eyes were white
“Hazel” he called with a smile
His smile widen as he saw little Jake in her hand
Hazel walk to his bed and stretch the baby to him which he happily carried
He stared at his son who was a replica of him and tears fell from his eyes
His tears fell on the little Jake face and the boy eyes snapped open at once
Their eyes made a contact and little Jake give out his first smile surprising his parents
“He just smiled at me” Jake said proudly
” He gave you his first smile” Hazel replied smiling out tears
Jake kissed him round his face and little Jake giggled childishly which made his parents smile
“I can’t believe I’ll be leaving you soon”he said kissing Hansel and little Jake on forehead before dropping little Jake beside him
He stared back at Hazel who kept crying and smile
” Love” he called stretching his hand to Hazel which she accepted
He pulled her to sit at his front
” Baby please don’t leave me alone,I can’t live without you”she cried holding him
” C’mon Hazel, you shouldn’t promise, remember you promise not to cry when the time comes” he groaned
“I can’t help it” she cried more and he sigh
He pulled her closer to himself resting her face on his chest
” Let’s stay like this,he muttered and Hazel lay on his chest listening to his heart beat
Suddenly his heart started beating loudly than normal,the machine
“Jake” Hazel called and tried to raise her head but Jake didn’t allow her
“Hazel I really wish I could stay more longer than this especially now that am in love with you” he muttered with sadness
His breathing became restricted but he kept forcing himself
” Jake” she called crying more loudly
“I love you Hazel” he said
“I love you too baby” she replied
” Am sorry for leaving you and our sons early” he added with his last breath and gave up the ghost
Hazel heard his heartbeat halt and she then knew he has finally left her
She hugged more tightly to her body crying out loudly, Hansel wasn’t left
The door open revealing everyone, seeing the heartbreaking scene
They all broke down in tears
They couldn’t believe that he was really gone
“Even if you are no more” you will always be in my heart” Hazel thought
