Jocelyn withdrew from her mom and moved back. “That’s enough.”
Angeline sighed and held her hand. She was really in tears now. “I beg you not to h@të me dear. Please, don’t h@të your mother.”
Jocelyn turned to look at her. “I’m trying so hard not to but it’s not working. How could you mom? Even after I begged you, you still went ahead with the divorce. Now dad’s gone. I don’t even know if I will ever get to see him again in my life!”
“I know his address, okay? You can tell me whenever you want to go see him. I’m not stopping you from seeing your father. Despite the divorce, he will always be your father. Nothing at all can change that.”
Jocelyn sighed and smiled stiffly. “It’s nice you still know that. I’m going back upstairs to rest.” Jocelyn said and started walking away.
“Can I stay behind and help you prepare breakfast at least?” Angeline called after her.
“No! The maid is doing that already?” Jocelyn forced herself not to snap.
“Oh yeah. You’ve employed a maid. I still want to make it though. It’s been long my baby ate my food.” Angeline said but Jocelyn was already out of sight.
She shrugged and proceeded to the kitchen.

Eddie was in his office late in the afternoon, saddled with a pile of docvments on his desk when the door opened and one of the junior doctors, doctor Kyle came in.
“Look who’s back from a romantic time with his new bride!” The young guy greeted as he walked towards Eddie’s table.
Eddie glanced up and smiled. “You can say that again.”
Kyle sat down and crossed his legs together and rocked his chair. “How’s she doing?”
“She’s great. How has things been moving in here?”
“Great expect for Rihanna who hasn’t been to work since the day you left.”
“What? Excuse me?” Eddie asked as his own dropped from his fingers.
Kyle shrugged and nodded. “Exactly. She hasn’t been to work.”
Eddie stared into space and closed his eyes. He opened them again and looked at Kyle.
“Gather all the nurses on duty at the meeting room. Immediately.”
“Okay doc.” Kyle replied. He stood up and left the office.
Eddie sighed and buried his head in his palm. He was beginning to get pissed off.

Adam stood in front of the window in his living room, sipping from the tall glass of wine in his hand.
Eddie and his dear Jocelyn were finally back from their honeymoon.
Mac, who’d given him the piece of good news, stood behind him, waiting for the next instruction.
“Hmm. Not long at all. I thought they were going to take so long. It’s good they are back. Where’s Leo?”
“At the secret house boss.”
“Good. You remember what I told you yesterday?”
“Yes boss.”
Adam nodded. “It’s time for you to carry out the task. Are you ready?”
Mac stood straight and nodded. “Yes, boss. Always ready.”
“Disguise yourself smartly. I don’t want her to suspect s thing. It’s still early in the evening.
Eddie should still be at work. We have to be fast about it. Don’t forget the chemical.”
“Yes boss. But her mom…. what do I do with her? She’s in the house with her. The maid is not a problem.”
“Hmm. Her mom? Give her a business fake call to get her out of the house.” Adam replied.
“Yes boss! I should have thought about that.” Mac replied and hastily left the room house.
Adam smiled as he continued sipping his wine drink. Finally, he would be getting what was rightfully his.

Jocelyn laid back in bed tiredly. She was suddenly feeling nauseous. Immediately her head touched the pillow, something rolled in her stomach and ran up her throat.
She jumped off the bed and ran into the toilet to throw up.
She came back into the room and met her mom already inside her room with a plate of mac and cheese neatly placed on a tray.
Immediately she saw the food, she ran back into the toilet and threw up some more.
Angeline stared at her daughter, wondering what was wrong with her.
“Mom! Get that thing out! I don’t wanna see it anymore! Never!” Jocelyn cried from the toilet.
“O…. okay..okay…are you okay?”
“Get it out!” Jocelyn cried again.
“Okay. Fine!” Angeline replied and shook her head before taking the food with her out of the room.
Jocelyn crawled back into the room, her hands over her stomach as she laid back in bed. She took hold of her phone and dialled Paula’s line.
“Yeah. It’s me. Can you come over to the house?”
“Oh no, Joe. I’m out of town. What’s wrong with you darling? Are you okay?” Paula asked from the other line.
“No! I’ve been vomiting! The mere thought of jam and bread makes me throw up!” Jocelyn cried.
“Oh no. Are you feeling dizzy and sleepy?”
Jocelyn stopped to check herself and realised it was true. “Yes. How did you know?”
“Wow! Jocelyn! You might be pregnant!, Awn!” Paula said excitedly.
Jocelyn blinked rapidly and her hand unconsciously travelled down her tummy. Was Paula saying that junior Eddie might be growing up in her tummy? Her flat tummy?
“Jocelyn are you there? Run a pregnancy test and call me when you are done! I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be positive!”
Jocelyn cut the line and just then her mom came back into the room, receiving a call. She stared at her, wondering if to tell her or not. She decided to check out the results firstly before making any assumptions.
“Okay. I will be out in twenty minutes. Please, make sure it a serious business transaction. Thank you.” Angeline rounded up her call and turned to face Jocelyn. “Are you okay dear?”
“Yeah. I’m better now.”, Jocelyn lied. “I wanna have some sleep.”
“Okay darling. Do that while I quickly go attend to something.”
“Okay mom.” Jocelyn mumbled a reply.
Angeline moved closer, pecked her before leaving the room.
Jocelyn picked up her phone again and quickly ordered for Pregnancy test.
