Episode 4
Jocelyn closed her eyes again then opened them. She stared up at the smiling face in front of her and frowned slightly. “Where’s my mom?” She mumbled.
“Oh. She’s…..I think she’s gone home to get you dinner.”
“And Adam? Where is he? Did he followed me here?” Jocelyn asked as though Eddie knew who Adam was.
But Eddie cooperated and shook his head negatively since he didn’t see any guy around her since she was brought in.
“No. I haven’t seen any guy around.” He replied and noticed how relieved Jocelyn looked.
“I’m not dead?” Jocelyn asked stupidly.
Eddie chuckled and shook his head again. “No. You are not dead because you are talking to me.”
“What happened? I took so much of that pill. How come I’m still alive?”
Eddie was amazed to hear she actually did that to herself. “Why did you hurt yourself? Why would a beautiful angel like you wanna kill herself?”
Jocelyn stared at him, noticing the lovely and soft tune he spoke with.
There was concern in his eyes and voice. Jocelyn rolled her eyes weakly and looked away wondering who the hell he is.
She stared back at him and realised he was still looking at her with that heart fluttering smile. “You are staring.” Jocelyn mumbled.
“Yeah. At the pretty face that has refused to answer my question.” Eddie replied and sat beside her on the bed.
Jocelyn tried to move but couldn’t. Her stomach hurt so badly she felt like crying. “Can you get up…? You are making me feel uncomfortable.” She mumbled.
Eddie chuckled and did as she said. ” Okay. Just being concerned. It’s nothing more than that. I will be going now.
The nurse will attend to you later. Is there anything you would like to eat?” Eddie asked and Jocelyn shook her head even before he finished his statement.
“Oh….okay. By the way….I’m Eddie. Eddie Wayne.” Eddie said with a cute smile.
Jocelyn only nodded and looked away. She wanted him to leave badly.
Eddie shrugged when he waited and heard nothing from her. Still smiling, he left the room.
Jocelyn sighed softly, relaxing back in her bed.
So, she’s still alive?
Jocelyn asked herself. The door opened and her mother walked in slowly.
She stood in front of the door, looking so hurt and guilty. “You were gonna leave me all alone in this world, Jocelyn?” Angeline asked as tears rushed down her face.
Jocelyn rolled her eyes. “It’s what you want mom so far you keep pressuring me to marry that lunatic.”
Angeline rushed towards her daughter. She hugged her head to her chest, rubbing her hands on her back. “I’m sorry my angel. I never knew you h@tëd him that much.”
“I constantly told you I don’t like him! How else should I show you if not like this?” Jocelyn asked.
“You could have died!”
“Yeah. That was the plan.” Jocelyn mumbled.
“Oh God. Thank God for that miracle of a doctor who brought you back to life. What would I have done!” Angeline wept.
Jocelyn looked at her mom. “You mean that guy that just left here? Is he a doctor?”
“Yeah. He was actually gonna take the day off but stayed back to treat you himself. He’s such a professional Jocelyn. He saved your life with the help of God.”
Jocelyn blinked rapidly and closed her eyes in regret. She was so rude to him few minutes ago.
“What’s wrong dear? Are you still feeling pains in your tummy?”
“Of course!” Jocelyn snapped and angrily turned her back on her mom, pretending to sleep.
“I brought you something to eat. Your favourite custard pie.” Angeline said sweetly from behind.
Jocelyn was quiet. She only closed her eyes and all she could see was the cute face of the supposed doctor.

Eddie sat in his office, observing a file.
Suddenly he stopped and looked up then stared into space, picturing that pretty face from moments ago.
His new patient. His bride patient. He couldn’t stop thinking about why she wanted to kill herself on her wedding day.
“It must be something serious.” Eddie said out loud.
The door suddenly opened and Rihanna came in, smiling. “Eddie….”
Eddie frowned a little. “Don’t barge in on me like that again, Rihanna.”
“I’m sorry doc. I thought you never mind.”
“It’s disrespectful of you.” Eddie added and moved forward in his chair. “What’s wrong?”
Rihanna sat down, purposely raising her skirt high.
Eddie noticed all her laps were naked then stared at her face. “What are you doing?”
“What? I’m just sitting down.” Rihanna replied.
“If you are trying to seduce me then forget about it because it’s not gonna work.”
Rihanna’s face fell. “I’m not doing anything wrong. I just wanted to congratulate you for putting so much effort in saving that bride. I feel so much pity for her.”
“I’ve always put my best in saving all my patient. That bride is not different.”
Rihanna rolled her eyes. “You know very well what I’m talking about, Eddie. You even cancelled your day off because of her.”
“Alright. I accept your praises. Can you let me be now? I’ve got a lot to do.”
Rihanna smiled and stood up. Slowly she walked to Eddie’s side and stood beside him.
She bent and pecked him on the cheek and giggled before leaving the office.
Eddie sighed and relaxed back as soon as Rihanna left. He was getting sick and tired of all her flirtatious moves.

“Jocelyn!!” Dianne and Paula screamed excitedly as soon as they ran into the room and saw their friend, sitting up in bed.
Jocelyn smiled as they approached. Yhey hugged her tightly while she winced in pain.
“Oh sorry. We are just too excited to see you alive! God, Jocelyn. Do you know how much you scared us? We thought we’ve lost you! Please don’t you ever do this again.” Paula warned.
Jocelyn smiled and nodded. “I promise.” She replied.
“We are heading back home from Ethan’s friend party. What should we get you when are coming back?”
“Huh…..ice cream…”
“No. You can’t have Ice cream.” Someone interrupted Jocelyn from the door.
They all turned to look at the door and found doctor Eddie standing there, looking like a sëxy god.
Paula and Dianne’s mouths were wide open as they stared at Eddie. They’ve never seen a doctor, looking so hot and young.
Jocelyn stared at him. This time around, he was putting on his white spotless coat. He was looking so handsome and shinny.
“Oh my God.” Dianne mumbled still staring at Eddie who had started moving towards them.
“Your friend can’t have Ice cream. Her stomach is still in a bad shape.” Eddie said again.
Dianne and Paula nodded countless times and stared back at Jocelyn.
“I think we have to be on our way now. We are gonna make you homemade cookies instead.” Dianne said.
They left the room but not after they looked at Eddie.
Left alone with the doctor, Jocelyn prepared to apologise for being rude. “You didn’t introduce yourself to me as a doctor. I’m sorry for disrespecting you few hours ago.” She mumbled.
Eddie smiled and Jocelyn noticed his cute shallow dimples. “It’s nothing. Are you feeling too much pain?”
“Yeah….thanks.” Jocelyn said, staring down at her hands. She couldn’t continue looking at his face.
“Mind telling me what happened?” Eddie asked, sitting on the chair beside the bed.
Jocelyn looked at him and nodded. She could see and hear the concern in his eyes and voice and decided to tell him all that happened.

After hearing her story, Eddie felt so sorry for her. He was sad she had to go to that limit alll because she didn’t want to get married to someone she doesn’t love.
“I’m sorry about.” Eddie said and touched her hand in a loving way.
Jocelyn stared down at his hand resting against hers and slowly withdrew.
“Oh sorry….if I made you feel uncomfortable.” Eddie said with a smile.
Jocelyn nodded. “You are just trying to make me feel better. Thanks for staying back just to see me get better.”
“You know….you drew my attention with your lovely wedding gown. I was heartbroken to see a lovely and beautiful bride like you rushed into the ward in such a worrisome condition.” Eddie said softly.
Jocelyn was staring at him all the while he talked. There was this thing in his voice that sounded so romantic as though he was talking to his lover.
Jocelyn wondered if he was always like this with his other patients.
The door suddenly opened and Adam walked in. Jocelyn’s eyes widened in horror.
“Adam??” She shrieked.
“What the hell is happening here! Why are you sitting so close to my bride Mr doctor!” Adam raved, glaring hard at Eddie.
Eddie stared at Adam and back at Jocelyn. He noticed how terrified she looked.
He stood up and faced Adam. “I think you should get out Mr Man. She doesn’t wanna see you.” He said gently.
Adam’s eyes widened. He couldn’t believe the doctor just said that to him. “What did you say? Can you please repeat that again Mr doctor?”
“I asked you to leave, Mr Man. She doesn’t wanna see you.”
“Doctor… please….. he’s gonna hit you. He’s sick!” Jocelyn whispered but loud enough for Adam to hear.
That only angered Adam.tge more. “Did you just say I’m sick?” He raved and marched towards them.
“And oh….by the way, call me Eddie.” Eddie said, smiling at Jocelyn, totally ignoring Adam who was furiously coming towards them.
“Okay Eddie…but…look out!!” Jocelyn gasped.
Adam raised his hand to punch Eddie as soon as he got closer but the latter dodged him and caught his hand instead and twisted it.
Adam roared out in pain while Jocelyn stared in shock.
This guy is not just a doctor!!

The security guards came into Jocelyn’s room and bundled Adam out of the room.
“You are gonna pay for this bastard!” Adam yelled madly as the guards dragged him out of the room.
“Relax.” Eddie said, looking at Jocelyn’s troubled face.
“I’m just concerned for you. I don’t want him to hurt you because of me please.” Jocelyn pleaded.
Eddie chuckled. “He’s not gonna do that here.”
“I just don’t want you to get entangled with Adam. He is dangerous.” Jocelyn insisted.
“Okay. Don’t you worry about anything. Just focus on your health, okay?”
Jocelyn nodded. “Thanks,….for defending me.”
“I could see it in your eyes that you didn’t wanna see him.”
“He was supposed to be my husband but I don’t like him. All my life, I’ve always wanted someone I would love, someone I would love to spend the rest of my life with. Not Adam. He doesn’t have such place in my heart.” Jocelyn said and Eddie smiled.
“It’s okay. You didn’t tell me your name.”
“I’m Jocelyn.”
“Wow. What a beautiful name for a pretty lady.” Eddie complemented and Jocelyn found herself blushing very hard.
