Episode 6
Adam got to his car parked in the parking lot of the hospital before turning to face his body guard.
“Make sure you keep an eye on them. Tell me whenever she’s leaving the hospital.”
“Sure boss.” Mac replied in his usual hard voice.
Adam was about entering his car when his phone started ringing.
He stood back, rested against the car door before bringing out his phone.
It was his mother.
“Mom….again. What seems to be the problem now?” He asked, rubbing a hand on his hair.
“You have to come over tommorow, Adam. Your son is sick and he needs blood.” His mother said from the other line.
Adam blinked. “Is he really sick? Come on mom….are you trying to lure me?” Adam asked.
“Does it sound like it? Even Lucio is here. Come over and take up your responsibilities because it seems you are the only one who has matching blood type with him.”
Adam sighed. “Fine. I will come over to Texas at midday.” He replied and cut the call. He breathed in, his eyes searching the floor. He really didn’t want to see Lucio; that lady that would stop at nothing to hook him up.
He got into his car while his driver drove him out of the hospital premises.

Few hours later, Jocelyn sat on her bed, resting her back against the bed frame comfortableness while her mom packed up the dishes so she could get them back home.
“When are you coming back mom?” Jocelyn asked.
“Well…. I’ve got a meeting to attend in place of your dad but I don’t think I can leave you alone in this crucial time. I’ve got to bring you your dinner.”
“Mom… you can attend the meeting. Besides, Dianne and Paula are coming over tonight.” Jocelyn chipped in.
“I know but I can’t….”
“Leave her to me. I will take care of everything.” Eddie said, coming into the room.
Angeline turned to look at him and smiled on seeing the cute face of the doctor.
“Oh doc, good afternoon.”, She greeted.
Eddie smiled and bowed. “Good afternoon Ma’am. I don’t think you should miss an important meeting when I’m fully here. You can go whenever you are supposed to be. She’s in my care and I will take perfect care of her upon your return.” Eddie added.
Angeline smiled with relieve. “I’m so glad to here that, doc. Thank you my dear.” She turned to look at her daughter. “Are you gonna be fine by that? The smile on your face said it all.”
Jocelyn shrugged and returned her eyes to the book she was reading.
“Okay. I will have to start going now…in order to meet up. See you later darling.” Angeline said and moved forward, pecking her daughter’s hair.
She took the plastic bag containing the dirty plates and left the room.
Now alone with the doctor, Jocelyn cleared her throat and looked up. “You finally came to visit ” she said in an accusing manner.
Eddie’s brows knotted. “You sound offended.” He said and sat beside her.
“Not at all. I thought you were busy with other patients.”
Eddie chuckled. “Now, you sound jealous.”
Jocelyn rolled her eyes. “Come on.”
“So… how’s your stomach? Where does it hurt?”
Eddie asked, staring down at the naked surface of her flat eatable looking tummy.
“I think…here..” Jocelyn replied, touching the lower side of her abdomen.
Eddie’s hand moved and rested there too. “Here?”
“Yeah.”, Jocelyn replied and closed her eyes, enjoying the feel of his warm fingers on her skin.
“Sorry. Promise me you will never hurt yourself over a guy again. Promise.” Eddie mumbled, looking into her eyes.
“Okay. I promise.” Jocelyn replied.
The door opened and Rihanna came in. Seeing the view before her, she stopped at the door, confused.
Seeing Eddie’s palm on Jocelyn’s tummy and with the way they sat so close really threw her off guard.
She moved back a bit, her hand still on the door knob.
Eddie turned to look at her. “Yes, Rihanna?”
“I… will…. come back.” Rihanna stammered and quickly left the room before Eddie could say something else.
“Is she alright? She looked confused.” Jocelyn asked.
Eddie said nothing, rather his mind wandered off back to his office, when Rihanna confessed her love to him but he had only told her he was not ready to be in any form of relationship.
Rihanna had left, embarrassed and disappointed.
Eddie smiled. She must have been jealous, to see him sitting with Jocelyn.
“Don’t worry about her.” He said, turning back to look at Jocelyn.
“Can you take me around? I’m tired if staying here.” Jocelyn complained.
“You still aren’t strong, Jocelyn. You need more rest.”
“I just want to stretch my legs, okay?” Jocelyn said with an eye roll.
Eddie shrugged. “Okay. I will carry you down.”
Jocelyn looked at him and smiled. He’s got this romantic thing about him. She thought.
Eddie picked her from the bed, into his arms and then slowly steadied her on the ground. He held her firmly by the waist guarding her to the door.

Rihanna got back into the reception and slowing walked towards the counter, thinking deeply about what she saw.
Eddie? Sitting on a patient’s bed and touching her stomach?
Rihanna scoffed and shook head.
“Something is not right.” She mumbled.
Zoe looked up from the files she was going through and looked at her friend. “What’s wrong?”
Rihanna looked at her and said nothing. Few minutes later, she sighed. “I saw something very disturbing. I don’t know what to make out of it.” She mumbled.
“You still haven’t told me what it is.” Zoe replied.
Rihanna explained what she saw abd Zoe chuckled.
“Are you seriously bothered about that? Eddie is a nice and caring doctor and besides, he’s not your boyfriend. Why should you be so jealous?”
“He is soon gonna become my boyfriend because I told him how I feel about him.” Rihanna said and Zoe gasped.
“Oh my gosh. You are really so shameless.” Zoe mumbled while Rihanna rolled her eyes.
Just then, Eddie and Jocelyn showed up. They were both coming from the lab.
Rihanna’s eyes widened. Eddie’s arm was around Jocelyn’s waist while the latter had her hand around his shoulder.
And they were both laughing together.
Rihanna’s guess was right. This patient was trying to steal her about to be boyfriend!
