He walked up to Vanessa and grabbed a handful of her hair, pulling her up roughly while she cried for help,her voice low and weak.
“Farewell,dear Vanessa!!”He smirked and sank the knife twice in her tommy, Vanessa’s eye went wide in shock,blood splashed out from her mouth while hot tears rolled down her cheeks instantly.
The mask guy pulled out the knife and sank it again in her tommy, making it thrice he stabbed her.
Vanessa quivered in pains and her knee gave up,she fell slowly and the two guys smiled satisfactorily.
“Let’s leave before someone sees us,at least the mission have been accomplished”Was all they muttered before disappearing to tin air.
Meanwhile,tony could be seen running madly. As clear as he can still remember,she did mention she was going to Tessa’s lodge and there’s no way she have reached Tessa’s lodge which still means she’s still on her way when that happened.
He already called the rest and they are on their way too.
Tony’s eye budged when he saw Vanessa, lying in the pool of her own blood,she wasn’t dead yet but she’s at the verge of death. He ran insanely to her and the moment he crouched to her level, Vanessa smiled bitterly raising her bloody hand to his face.
“Vanessa!!”He called, while hot tears rushed down his cheeks cos of her condition.
“T..tony!!”Vanessa’s muttered weakly, another drop of tears left her eye and her hand slowly fell off from Tony’s cheek,her eyes went shut instantly.
“Vanessa!!!!!!!!”He screamed loudly, hugging her to himself.
The rest runned to the scene and they covered their mouths in shock.

√√HOSPITAL√√
The doctors and nurses ran Helter skelter,the moment Vanessa was wheeled into the ER.
“Do all you can to save her please”Tony begged, grabbing one of the doctors collar.
“Tony!!”Kenn and Victor called, pulling him off from the doctor.
“She’s she’s…”Tony trailed off and his knee gave up, which got him sitting on the bare floor, while looking at his hands and body which was already soaked with Vanessa’s blood.
On the other hand,Tessa could be seen wailing loudly while Amanda did her best to console her.
“She will be fine! Let’s have hope”Amanda reassured but Tessa wasn’t having any of it.
Meanwhile,in the ER,four qualified doctors and three nurses could be seen, attending to Vanessa.
The bullet has been removed successfully from her back while they where now attending to her tommy.
Alot of tubes was connected to her body, while the machine kept beeping slowly. An oxygen was also connected on her nose.
The machine made a loud noise and all the lines went off, Vanessa jerked up heavily from the bed and went down immediately,her eyes was still closed and she began convulsing seriously.
The machine kept beeping loudly, showing the red line only,indicating danger and all the doctors eye went wide.
They began doing all the necessary thing’s to stop the convulsion.
A bottle of an injection was brought forward,and soon she was injected. It took almost fifteen minutes before the convulsion stopped slowly,but the machine kept beeping loudly.
“Check her blood percentage,you check her vitals”The superior instructed and they all swap into action.
“She’s lost so much blood!”
“Her pulse is dropping!!”
“Defibrillator please”The superior requested and the pair was passed to him!!
“Charge!!”He said loudly, rubbing it together.
“100%?!”
He placed it on her chest, Vanessa only jerked up from the bed,then fell back heavily on the bed,with nothing happening.
“Charge!!!!”He instructed again.

All the five friends could be seen, standing before the glassy window of the ER,as they looked at Vanessa who was fighting for her life. They couldn’t control their tears,as each one of them had tears in their eye.
“Tony!!”Mr Martins called, running close to them.
Earlier,after Vanessa was rushed to the hospital tony called his uncle telling him what happened, and his uncle promised to rush down there immediately.
“Uncle!”tony cried, turning to him.
“How is she?”Mr Martins asks and Tony pointed towards the door for him.
“I don’t know if there is hope”Was all Tony’s reply could be,Mr Martins left tony and went over to the window,seeing Vanessa from there.
The door of the ER pushed open and two nurses rushed out.
“How is she?”They began throwing questions to them,but the nurses ignored them and ran to get an important stuff.
Soon,they came back and rushed back inside the ER,tony and the rest could only watch and do nothing cos they where completely helpless at the moment.
“How about her parents?”Tony asks and Mr Martins heaved.
“I already informed them!!”He breathed and turned to Tony.
“Who did that to her?”He asks and Tony furrowed his brows, while thinking.
Why haven’t he thought about that? This wasn’t just a normal accident! This was a murderer case cos the person intended killing her!!
“Why would someone want to kill her? She’s carefree,she doesn’t have any enemy or does she?”Tessa’s asks slowly and they all gasped when the realization hit them! Only one person was ready to do anything,just anything to have Tony!!
One of the doctors came out, interrupting their discussion and thought.
“How is she now doctor?”Mr Martins asked this time. The doctor only breathed heavily before giving his reply.
“We almost lost her,but thanks to God! She’s out of danger but currently still in coma!”
“Jeez! Thank God!! Thank you Lord”Tony went on his knee, with his face up.
“She’ll be fine right?”Mr Martins asks again.
“Let’s hope so! As long as she’s out of danger,there’s hope”He replied with a smile, before walking to his office.
“Sir,there’s one person who I think did this!!”Tessa said and Mr Martins turned to her swiftly.

√√MARIAM’S LODGE √√
“Let’s pop champagne!!”Mariam laughed triumphantly, popping the champagne in her hand.
“Wow,I feel so happy now! First move successfully done!”She grinned, drinking from the bottle of champagne.
“Now,I have to embark on the next move!!”She shouted and began laughing,whilst pouring the drink away.
A knock sounded on her door and she giggled.
“Jeez! Who wants to interrupt my celebration?”She thought, opening the door. Her eyes went round in shock,when she saw the police standing before her. She gulped nervously and cleared her throat.
“Who are you looking for?”She asks, darting her eyes from one officer to another.
“Are you Mariam Austin?”The first officer asked and Mariam could swear,she already knew where this was heading to. The thought of her getting arrested made her heart sank into her stomach,but she decided to play cool.
A smile formed on her lips while her eyes glowed happily.
“No,I’m not!!”She lied, praying inwardly for the cops to buy her lie,but she got the shock of her life when she saw Tony walking forward to her.
He was standing at the cops back all this while? She’s just put herself on the lane by lying!!
Tony walked to her,his eyes blazing in rage,his fist balled tightly, while his teeth was clenched hard.
Walking up to her,tony gave her a thunderous but life shocking slap, Mariam’s eyes dilated and she saw stars in their numbers,her eyes went blurry and she went deaf momentarily.
“Tony!!”The cops pulled him back, while he struggled to get off their grip.
“Tony get a grip!!”His uncle patted His back while he kept breathing heavily, glaring murderously at Mariam who was still trying to recover from the slap she received.
“So you’re Mariam Austin and you denied yourself? Aren’t you second Peter? Oh wait, Peter’s case is even different cos he denied Jesus and not himself,but you…you denied yourself!! How pathetic”Mr Martins said in scarscm while looking at Mariam pitifully.
“Mariam Austin! You’re under arrest for attempted murder of Miss Vanessa Bryant. You have every right to remain calm or anything you say or do,we be used against you in the court of law!”The cop said, bringing out the arrest warrant which he showed to her.
Mariam knowing that she wasn’t gonna escaped,heaved deeply with a smirk. Only she knows the reason she was smirking at the moment.
“Officer,arrest her!!”The cop said and Mariam was handcuffed before being dragged out of her lodge,all her lodge mates peeped out through their window, wondering why she was being arrested.
She just disgraced herself in the lodge! How pathetic!!!!!

“You no dey shame? You almost killed your fellow girl cos of man! I wonder how your parents take dey handle pikin like you. Such a disgrace”The officer said, pushing Mariam inside.
“Don’t push me!”Mariam said slowly and the officer furrowed his brows.
“This one still get mouth to talk? Wait till you enter that cell,Na beating you go receive inside. Foolish girl”he scoffed, while Mariam kept smirking.
“Na to use this my gun hit you for head sef,you no suppose live!”The officer continued ranting,but Mariam said no word to him,she had a smirk on her face till she was pushed inside the cell and they locked it.

√√TWO WEEKS LATER~HOSPITAL√√
Tony walked in slowly,he sat close to Vanessa whose eye’s was tightly shut.
It’s been two weeks already and Vanessa is still in coma, tony do visit her everyday asking her to wake up soon.
The other friends are not left out either, neither was Mr Martins left out. Mr Martins was the one giving Vanessa parents feedback concerning her health.
Tony took her hand and kissed her knuckles,and a drop of tears left his eye. That’s what has been happening,he hardly comes there without crying. She’s in that condition cos of him! How can he be happy?
“Wake up already Amour! It’s been two weeks already, and it’s getting more tougher for me!”He chuckled,a chuckle which showed how hurt and sad he was.
“I can’t really handle it if anything happens to you! I can’t Vanessa and that’s the reason you should wake up okay? Fight for me and once you wake up,I’ll tell you how much you’ve gotten me wrapped up with your love!”he said with a sad smile as more tears began flowing down his cheeks.

Tony already slept off beside Vanessa,he was still holding her hand with traces of tears still evident on his cheeks.
His phone began ringing, which got him waking up from the sleep. He brought it out,and seeing the call was from the station,he wiped his cheeks before picking it up.
📞”Hello sir,Mariam Austin just escaped from the cell”
📞”What? She escaped??”Tony stuttered with wide eye, and his eye darted to the door immediately,his eye bulged out at what he saw.
Mariam was standing at the door, dressed in all black and a gun in her hand.
📞”We’re only calling for you to be more careful,we are still in search of her!!”the cop continued, but Tony didn’t reply cos his phone fell out from his hand in shock.
📞”Hello? Are you there?”The cop asks,still no reply.
“Mariam?”His Voice came out pretty inaudible.
“You’re Surprised to see me?”She laughed while tony kept looking at her, without saying a word.
The devil herself was right before her with a gun, she’s she’s going to finish them off?
A devil will always be a devil! So Mariam was this evil? How did she escape from prison? How did she get inside their ward and why isn’t anyone around? The nurse or doctors? Why is everywhere suddenly calm? All this question ran in Tony’s head but there wasn’t any answer to that! He wanted to Yelp and scream for help,but he lost his voice completely. He just stood dumfounded, looking at the devil incarnate.
“I’ve always loved you tony,but what did I get in return? You h@tëd me,you cut out with me cos of that thing. You shouldn’t have done that,this wouldn’t have gotten to this extent but you choose the path which wasn’t clear. If I can’t have you tony,then know one will,not even she!!”Mariam said in tears,raising the gun to Tony’s face.
“Mariam….”Tony began but Mariam cut him off.
“Get lost and die! I h@të you!!”She screamed angrily and pulled the trigger,the bullet flew and rammed into Tony’s forehead, shattering his skull.
